I wont be shocked if Iron Bull isn't actually an LI, but I wont be shocked if he is either. I think it could still go either way. If there are 8, then I think he and Solas are both in. If it's 6, I really don't know at this point.

Dorian already chose to be an exile from Tevinter, but I guess if he turns out to be for slavery after all, then they're just a pair of terrible people together.
Why would Dorian, the guy completely against the Tevinters customs, be for slavery?

If I had to give a personal guess on the straight male, I'd guess Cullen too, although just because he's never shown interest in men doesn't rule him out, like with Anders and Kaidan. I know many people are wanting the advisors to be bisexual LI's, though.
Those were retconned so hard :v

I don't think he would be, but that's what the post I replied to implied.

Actually, David Gaider said Anders was written as bisexual since the beginning I believe.

Also, IMO, LI's should not hook up with each other if you don't go for one. It just makes it feel like they're secretly eyeing up that other person while you're still in a relationship. <__<

But he sounded like such a womanizer in Awakening XB
Then again... there was that one exchange with Nate that could be interpreted as bi teasing.

Yep, that's what I was about to say. And I've heard that Kaidan actually had m/m LI dialogue in the first game (that was taken out...for some reason?)
But I've heard you can dig around and find it if you know how. I sure as heck don't, lol.

Why self-control? I don't think there's anything inherently wrong about elf-human romance.
I meant if you aren't interested in romancing any of the current companions or advisers with an elven Inquisitor.
As for romances between elves and humans, I don't disagree. In my canon runs, my Surana Warden romanced Morrigan, and my apostate Champion romanced Merrill. I thoroughly enjoyed both. I think Morrigan is an awesome character, and I genuinely liked Merrill; two interesting, thought-provoking characters from different cultures. I discussed the latter quite a bit earlier in the thread (just a few hours ago).
And though my Dalish characters tend to start the game from relatively xenophobic standpoints I generally play them as becoming more open by the end of the game. I can't imagine my Dalish character would be interested in Cullen or Bull (the only force that is worse than the chantry is the Qun...) but I haven't actually met them yet. And maybe Dorian will charm my socks off.
That's possible. I certainly hope your character finds a love interest you enjoy.
And I guess Ariane is a possibility: While we're at it lets speculate that they'll bring back Sketch too. He was associated with Leliana, therefore he must be a romance.
Your petty condescension aside, my preference would have been for something different, as I've already done the human/elf romance twice now, and I feel I would've experienced something different this time had there been an elven love interest for a male elven Inquisitor interested in women.

It is an option. Like I said elsewhere though, I won't make a female unless I have a better concept in general (not just because of romance options). Plus, my Warden elf is already female. I didn't want to repeat that. Nor do I know how to roleplay a lesbian. I could learn, but I don't feel very sincere about it myself (just to be honest).
I'll just enjoy the game another way.
Y'know, there isn't a "way" you roleplay a lesbian. Like, there aren't any rules. Play it as you would any other romance. Is easy.

The ME1 situation was actually just a result of Jennifer Hale and Mark Meer recording all lines for Shepard regardless of which gender they were meant for. It led to some funny things if you play around with the files like this:

You think? Lets just say my heart isn't in it then. Perhaps my mind can be.
I'd enjoy a story like that from the outside though. Like Briala and Celene had me hooked.

Well, your character has to be a woman who likes women, but other than that there are no rules. ![]()

I suppose your mileage varies depending on what other types of games you've played. As you know, the pairing is only available in Dragon Age is in Origins, if you played as a female elf (given the presence of male Zevran). I would've liked to see Dragon Age tackle it in Inquisition.

I can understand not wanting to switch genders to romance a character. I can't get into it either. I only play gay dudes. I get that for some people it doesn't matter, but for others it's just not the same experience at all.

Too many damn humans.
One of these days they need to include more dwarves. And a possible female/male elf pairing. I think the Merrill/Hawke romance is kind of depressing actually. At least on friendly. Then she views Hawke as someone who could be the hope for her people, if only he were an elf. Why can't an elf ever hear a line like this? You're always paired with people who don't even care about elves.
Zevran and the Warden can be a female/male elf pairing. Sure he wasn't stressed over the "blight of elves" the way Merrill was, but honestly I liked that. He was very much his own character with his own back story that wasn't completely defined by the fact that he was an elf. Not that I didn't like Merrill, she was adorable and thinking back probably my favorite romance in DA2. As much as I love Anders and Fenris, they're just a bit too heavy/angsty/frustrating for me to romance in repeated playthroughs. Isabella I also adore, but I like her more as my bestie. Merrill on the other hand is adorable and her story ties in with my favorite warden origin story sooo.... xD
I agree, there's a plethora of Andrastian humans.
Honestly, it would've been nice to see a male dwarven protagonist have the opportunity to romance a female dwarf (and there's still the question of whether or not Varric will even be a romance option this time), and it would've been interesting to romance another elf as a male Inquisitor interested in women. I'm happy for fans who can romance Sera, and I hope players who are interested in Solas are able to pursue it, but I would have preferred if the developers didn't limit players who are interested in playing as a straight male elven Inquisitor to Andrastian humans.
I have to agree with you both on the dwarf LIs though. It would be nice to see them start to pop up. On the topic of too many Andrastian humans... Honestly I'd love to see a major Avvar character in one of the games. I feel like we've only gotten a very tiny glimpse of that culture.

Yeah, romance doesn't play out well for me that way. But I still like playing female characters sometimes. They're just single. My Warden is a dalish female. I like Lady Hawke much more, but she's not my main Hawke.

No problem. It's late. ![]()
Yeah, it's a bit old hat if you've done the human/elf romance twice already, and I've had an interest in playing as a Dalish mage ever since I read Addai's "The Wolf at the Edge of Camp". It had tones of Dune mixed with the Dalish tribes; Mahariel seemed like an elven kwitzach haderach.
Same goes for dwarf romance options.
I agree, although at least we know dwarven women won't be mysteriously MIA this time around, given the mention of Dagna showing up. And Varric's still a maybe for players.

I'll be honest, I would be surprised if Varric was an LI. I just don't really think it's happening. It's definitely more likely with race gating. I just think it's more likely we'll see Bianca again.
But I feel bad for the people that want to romance him. Sorry for being a downer. ![]()
