Am I the only person in the DA fandom who didn't like Zevran, at all? :v

I didn't like him much at first... and my first play-through I didn't build up enough friendship with him, which resulted in him betraying me, so yeah. xD But after getting to know him better on further play-throughs I liked him more. Still was never my favorite though. I was all about Alistair, Shale, and Wynne (and their awesome banter) haha

I'll be honest, I would be surprised if Varric was an LI. I just don't really think it's happening. It's definitely more likely with race gating. I just think it's more likely we'll see Bianca again.

But I feel bad for the people that want to romance him. Sorry for being a downer.  :(

Zevran grew on me. I wouldn't let him romance my Warden though. I almost feel like a protective father or something. lmao.

Probably not.

I enjoy flirty characters in general, and the fact that he's also a character that just goes with the flow and takes everything in stride really appealed to me.

But at the same time I can see how he could easily come off as "too much" for others.

EDIT: It's also very rare for me to actually DISLIKE a character xD

I actually didn't romance Zevran my first playthrough. I started Alistair's as a city elf before I even met Zev, and then made Alistair king and got a really tragic ending. Idk if it was lingering spite over that first playthrough, my minor elf fetish, or just the fact that I adore Zev's easy attitude, but he's been my favorite DA LI so far.

Well, maybe he will be a straight dwarven romance. That's just one set of scenes to do. Bianca probably let herself go, anyway.  :P

:P  haha, to be honest though, I'm probably almost as skeptical as you. I'm just in denial because, *sniffle* reasons.

Hey, if we don't get to romance him, maybe we can at least have a really cute sibling like relationship where we help him win Bianca back? xD

That would be the next best option! I could like playing the cupid who is secretly pining over someone she's helping set up but is too loyal as a friend to get in their way... :c sorta. It would be bittersweet, but adorable.

The way they got separated was really sudden. He thought she got killed and he got away from the people chasing them. I don't think there will probably be a courtship process, if Bianca is in the game. I think it will probably be more like a rescue mission and then they'll just be happy ever after. But I might be optimistic about this and she might actually be super pissed he didn't come sooner.

Has the whole story on what happened with Bianca been revealed somehow/somewhere? I played Legacy and read the trilogy comics/trades, but I felt like those didn't really give too many details.

I meant if you aren't interested in romancing any of the current companions or advisers with an elven Inquisitor.

As for romances between elves and humans, I don't disagree. In my canon runs, my Surana Warden romanced Morrigan, and my apostate Champion romanced Merrill. I thoroughly enjoyed both. I think Morrigan is an awesome character, and I genuinely liked Merrill; two interesting, thought-provoking characters from different cultures. I discussed the latter quite a bit earlier in the thread (just a few hours ago.

That's possible. I certainly hope your character finds a love interest you enjoy.

Your petty condescension aside, my preference would have been for something different, as I've already done the human/elf romance twice now, and I feel I would've experienced something different this time had there been an elven love interest for a male elven Inquisitor interested in women.

Sorry for the condescension. There's so much we don't know about the game, and I get (perhaps needlessly) annoyed when we speculate on things that we can pretty much guarantee won't happen. I'd bet that Cole would be an LI before we see an LI outside the main cast of 12 characters.

Largely, because Bioware doesn't write characters so that those characters can be love interests. Bioware writes awesome characters, and then later on those characters can turn into LIs.

No, we haven't got the whole story. Basically just that she designed the crossbow and that they were running from the guild at the time.

I think I've already shared my opinion on elven romance but Streetmagic hit the nail on the head.

Too many damn humans.

Elf/human has been done too many times. I could never force my Tabris or Mahariel to be involved with shemlins and I definitely can't for my male elf inquisitor. I won't be so frustrated with have Sera be an female only LI for no apparent reason other then to not have her be a LI for male elves if there were more female elf options.
Ugh I pray to the Creators that bioware gives us a female elf LI.

I'm skeptical on the point of her designing the crossbow, considering we met the guy who designed the crossbow in Legacy.

Of course, it might have been a joint effort between them, but the dreams in the comics weren't wholly accurate.

I didn't really understand that point either. Maybe she made the plans and the other guy put it together?

I still hate him, he pisses me off and the thought of him touching Leliana in the group sex in Origins made me shiver! I denied him soo fast!

Have you considered that an elf and human could find love together and then adopt an elven child? It's not like there's a shortage of elven orphans.

Could be. Or the dream machine might have just gotten the point wrong; we've seen previously that projections in the fade are often inaccurate to the reality.

In any event, it's a lot easier to reconcile than the question of Alistair's mother.

that one doesn't bother me too much, although I honestly prefer thinking of Fiona as his mother than the random maid from Redcliff.

Either Fiona is Alistair's real mother and the story they told him about his mother was just a convenient cover story, or Maric has a second bastard running around somewhere that we haven't seen yet.

I prefer the idea of him having another bastard as it covers the base of "What if Alistair dies in Origins and renders the entire plot moot?"

Also, I despise Fiona; while me and Alistair have had our differences, I wouldn't wish being spawned by that creature on my worst enemy.

I think that either they lied about who his mother was, or there's just another bastard somewhere. Considering how plot important they've made Theirin blood, it might have actually been a smart move to keep a backup around for plot purposes.

Really? I adored Fiona's character. Not nearly as much as I adored Katriel, mind you, but I really did end up getting attached to her.

To each their own though, I suppose.

To me it just makes more sense for Alistair to just be Fiona's child. Maric didn't strike me as the type to drown his sorrows in drink and women, and the idea that he would have been disloyal to Rowan after Katriel was out of the picture didn't seem to fit his character in my opinion. There's also Duncan's promise to watch over Fiona's child.

I thought everyone said Maric was a big manwhore and Cailan followed him in that respect, but maybe I'm remembering wrong. This is from the games, I didn't read the books before Asunder.

As a roleplayer, it doesn't really matter what I personally think when I play a game.  If my PC is this way, and likes this thing, and loves such person, then that's how it goes.  I've done romances and game paths that I never cared for, personally, but it's in-character for my PC to do it.

I liked Zevran's romance arc and how it ends with a nice payoff.

Part of my adamant refusal to accept Fiona is Alistair's mom is that the game blatantly contradicts that. If you recruit Loghain and ask him why Maric didn't raise Alistair, he'll tell you that it was because it would have disgraced Rowan and made her look like a concubine; Rowan was years dead by the time Fiona's boy was born.

There's also the fact that the Redcliffe maid being a coverup story makes no sense because the part that needs to be covered up from Alistair is who his father is, not who his mother is. Fiona didn't want Alistair involved in the royalty or nobility.

I get that way over time. Not in new playthroughs, I find.

Don't ask me why. Maybe it's the excitement that I have as a new player.. and I want to instill it in the character itself. I want the experience to be personal.
