Indeed.  Blackwall did not grow his beard, the beard grew a Blackwall.

Now we need to have Blackwall beard jokes ala Chuck Norris jokes.

I hear under neath Blackwall's beard is just another beard.

The only thing that can cut diamonds are other diamonds and Blackwall's beard.

I heard that every time Blackwall walks by someone else with a beard, the beard shrinks up in fear and shame at how glorious his is...

I felt Zevran was the only m/m relationship that Bioware has done that felt more geared towards women. I did not get that feeling at all from the other m/m romances. I just let that one slide because they were so new at it. I totally trust them to write bisexual males. I thought Anders, Fenris and Kaidan were all good examples on the m/m side.

Agreed.

Of course, I will say that I still like the fshenko romance. My favorite of the Mass Effect series... But then, I am a sucker for the I love you even when I am mad at you stuff.

Though I love, love, love the mShenko version of the reality check scene.

I didn't get into Bioware until the ME1/Origins era, so I'll have to take your word on that one.

I think it was a case of, you have ONE opportunity to unlock his romance as a dude and if you miss it, you miss it. I could be wrong though.

I will never understand the fandom for beards (or facial hair in general beyond a bit of scruff). My feelings range from mild indifference (re: scruff), to active loathing (everything else).

I actually am not a fan of beards, either. I love scruff. But anything more than that, nah. I don't like people's purdy faces to be hidden.

At least for me, my scruff exists only because daily shaving is such a pain. I welcome the day that proper corporate attire will tolerate scruff as much as it does beards, if only so that I can escape from the tyranny of my razor for a day.

I actually don't like beards on most men either. Some can pull it off but imo sometimes they just look dirty : (

This might be a YMMV, but that's basically my take on Collin Farrell with almost any degree of scruff.

The different ways facial hair can be snipped, groomed, and waxed looks interesting to me.

This is probably because I have no knowledge of the maintenance needed or much experience beyond tugging the occasional Santa beard as a child.

I love bearded men, if only my genetics allowed me to grow a beard (now, at my 35 years, I'm sure I won't grow anything besides 4 hairs under my nose and chin  )

I have to remember to show him Blackwall's beard and Dorian's mustsache. He will love it haha,

You're really not missing out on anything not growing them, so long as you can score the hot bearded guys

They itch like hell as grow in, then take a while to look decent instead of completely ridiculous, and then are annoying to get rid off when you want to get rid of them. Personally, at least, I also don't like how they feel on my face when I put it up against things, e.g. pillows.

That said, this Movember I'm growing the Dorian stache.

The hard part will be that upward curl. Not sure how to make that one happen.

I'm really not a fan of facial hair beyond 5 o'clock scruff, and even then some people can't wear it well.  The only aspect that annoys me about facial hair is this silly notion I commonly run across: that beards are somehow linked to one's masculinity and manly identity.  The bigger of scruffier you can grow it, the more manly it is.

My friend makes his own organic mustache wax to get "The Dorian"

I'm seriously only calling it that from now on

Kaidan had that story about Rahna (which I'm not really convinced was romantic), but also has a few banter lines about asari women.

I always found it gross how Kaidan talks about how hot he finds Samara's daughters right in front of a Male Shepard, even if you romance him.  It seems like one of those oversights like Male Shepard leering at Traynor in the hot tub regarless of how you roleplay his sexuality.

Yeah, that attitude has always bothered me. Which is why I tell them it's all about the leg hair.

WHAT?

That happens?

Sorry, Kaidan has trouble leaving Virmire in my playthroughs so I've never even known this was a thing

edit: Missed the question mark in my post.
