Yeah I'm weird I can handle a romance where one of them is dying just fine but not where one is loosing their mind or suffering from addiction just hits a little closer to home for me I suppose *shrugs*

I can somewhat deal with addiction but memory loss hits all my sad buttons. I guess it's because I have such a crappy memory that it hits me hard that could very easily be me in a few years.

So, Scribegirl is bi, Cassandra and Cullen both straight.

Predictable but nice to know for sure.

I can't hits far to many uncomfortable buttons for me. though thats only because both parents have gone to rehab a few times so not very fun for me^^; Memory loss I don't like either for somewhat of the same reason I've lost days before and thats pretty scary so not fun having to be reminded of that in a game you play to get away from your problems : 3

Cassandra confirmed as straight. I was sure Bioware wouldn't do this, but I guess I should've known better.

And advisor definitely don't travel with us

This is a repost because my original comment must be so near the bottom I'm afraid it'll never get answered: Are the "Advisers of the Inquisition" companions? I had asked this about Leliana (as she is my favorite character in the Dragon Age series) and was met with the response that she will be an NPC from a fellow fan; however, as Cullen is also an Adviser to the Inquisition AND a romance option, I am unsure as to their role in the game. Any answers would be greatly appreciated, as I am ridiculously excited for the return of Leliana; follower or no. Thanks!

BioWareDA   Advisors will not travel in your party but you do interact with them at youir base - Mark

One thing I worry about is that we'll have to follow the adviser's path if we want to romance them.

Well they also confirmed you won't be able to talk to party members out in the field, either, and that the bulk of interaction with them is going to be at the base.

*hugs* Yeah I grew up around a drug abusers as well I can just deal with it a bit better I guess (though I am highly liable to cut my losses and run. I say that without an inch of remorse). And yeah I have gaping holes in my memory. Not sure if it's for the better or worse. And yeah it's not fun to have that unpleasant reminder in a game I'm trying to play awesome mc hero in =/

I thought we could talk about minor stuff out in the field? And the major convos would be in base?

I'm really curious about the specifics of the approval system too

Also, for NPC LIs, they have not only the same amount of dialogue, but banter too... It seems though they have a different approval system?

Q: Banter questions! Because who doesn't love banter?

1. Will advisors have banter dialogue?
(...)
A: 1. Yep
(...)

Q: I already ask 22 questions but you won't answer for them, so I cut fifteen of them.
(...)
4. Is advisors will also have friendship meter?(...)

A:
(...)
4. Their approval is handled different from followers.

That's really cool.

I don't think so since you can have them hate you but still be your lover apparently.

Only banters outside the safe locations.

What I don't understand is how can they have banter if they don't travel with us? I guess the only possible answer it's there's banter at the base, when you move around it or something like that? ala ME3 Normandy, I mean

That would appear to be the case, yes.

*hugs back* I might hold onto it more since I'm close with my mother and I found out about it at a young age with my aunt calling her a 'drug wh*re' at least one of them is doing better now not sure about the other though. (the one I'm not keen on keeps coming back though not like I've got much say in it so I deal how I can) I usually try to laugh it off since I've got so much wrong with me health wise anyway but having memory gaps is probably the scariest thing ever to me. Most I lost was two days though so I guess I don't lose that much. I get some games put in the real life thing and it can be compelling but I don't want that in my fantasy rpg with dragons and magic : 3

Also advisers can not leave you unlike companions. "Captive audience" at it's best :)

I figured as much. I'm still interested in Scribbles' questline though. If they're politically driven. Or maybe stuff up Varric's alley (merchant's guild and other trading).

I'm fine with it. I guess we can interact due to interactive party banter.

Normandy banter was always how I envisioned advisor banter working. Unsurprised by fact advisors don't travel. Expect one of missions where they play a role similar to former me2 squad dies in me3 but never actually companion.

BW's approach to character reveals has become intensely frustrating. I really wish they'd just say who the love interests are and who can romance them and be done with it. I mean, it can't be fun being bombarded with LI-related questions all the time, and I feel like absolute transparency would make everyone happy.

Well, not happy, per se. Just...prepared.

Laidlaw mentioned a multi-region arc for Cullen some weeks ago.

Yea, I don't mind it myself. I actually found the way it was implemented in DAO to be rather immersion breaking at times. Having a casual conversation with a companion(a romanced companion especially) while standing next to the Broodmother's corpse, for example.

Though agreed. Losing parts of your memory is disturbing. I guess Quizzy might have some holes in his/her memory from the fade incident but yeah other than that I'd prefer staying far away from the subject. My memory seems fine til I try to go back months. I guess it could be compelling if handled with care but... =/

I'm really hoping that's not a major part of the Cullenmance. Or there's at least some way to fix it as sappy as it sounds.

Ah true. Still hissing
