The only new companion I have any hope for is Dorian

I love our cast of characters this time. There are some I will almost certainly get along well with (Solas, Cole) and some I doubt I'll get along with at all (Cassandra, Iron Bull), but I think nearly all the characters have something interesting to bring to the story, from what we've seen. Even if Dorian is the only romance option that I end up liking, I think they've done an amazing job putting together an interesting overall cast. Opinions will obviously always vary, but for me this seems like our most interesting cast yet and I'm excited to get to know everyone.
Heck even Oghren who was a stereotypical dwarf.

Well that great for you, but so far all of the ones we have any substantial info about make me want the old cast back rather than these new faces, Blackwall, Vivenne, Sera, Leliana, and Josephine just make me want Oghren, Sten, Loghain, hell I'd settle for bloody Carver or Fenris

I don't see how you can maker those judgements yet when we have such scant info. All would suggest is try to go into the game with an open mind and maybe you will be surprised.
Fine, Shale, Aveline, and Sigrun can come back as well, those were just the names off the top of my head.

It's just really suspect that the characters you can't see being interesting are almost all women, and the characters you want to replace them with (despite the fact that we've had ample opportunity to explore a couple of their character arcs) are all men. You might not realize it, but that's exactly the sort of thinking that leads to women being relegated to supporting roles in, like, everything.
Which is why it struck a nerve.
As for LIs, here's to hoping for the rest to be revealed at GaymerX. I have a feeling we only learned about Josephine because her writer volunteered the info herself. I'm also crossing my fingers that the remaining three LIs are all companions, and that there are a few flings that don't count towards the total. I don't think there's any way to divvy up what's left in a way that's remotely fair to everyone, since there is no way that a non-companion/adviser can be as deep as the main ones. At the very least, I'd think one is an un-gated bi male, otherwise gay male players might only have one LI in some playthroughs, and it seems like that's exactly the sort of thing they wanted to avoid.

Loghain is your standard issue "Ends-justify-means" radical douchebag, Sten is the common "Quiet, Philosophical, Warrior"
And none of the other characters you were pining for are any more exceptional.
Also steel listing Leliana as a new face kinda makes your point look weak.
