You could have the same archetype of the frost queen, but one character entirely different from another.
...And that doesn't mean everyone that's fans of the characters you mention will automatically flock to Josie. Plus, a few surface similarities does not make an archetype, it just means they have a few personality traits in common.
What was confirmed was that there would be 8 LIs with 2 being race gated and in another reply they said there'd be a romance with "at least one" NPC that was neither an advisor or companion.

I think it's less that they are girly and feminine and more that that they are less threatening/aggressive/cold than their counterparts. The girl next door instead of Ice Queen.

It's nothing personal, it's just a pet peeve when anyone takes a few surface qualities and says "Oh, since these very different characters have a lot of fans, surely they'll like this one character that appears to have some of the same qualities."
If I sounded snappish, then I do apologize.

It could come off as lumping the fans together as people who simply go after the "cute and girly" types. Makes fans of any of these characters (whether it be one, two, or all) sound a bit superficial.

Personally I wasn't on the defensive; I just have never really looked at them that way. Tali was a LI long before we knew she was pretty, and I told Leliana that she enjoyed all the killing and intrigue that came along with being a bard, so she didn't really fit the "nice" quality (and her subsequent appearances in the DA canon confirm this to me).
I suppose I agree that the previous three are all somewhat feminine and girly, but I'm most interested in Cassandra personally.

I can't imagine making Tali or Merrill your diplomatic ambassador. I think Josephine will be very different from them, personally. I hope, for the Inquisition's sake. lol

Let's take an example. Morrigan, I loved her. Miranda, I loved her. Vivienne massively appealed to me. And they are all different. There's a good chance that a character that fits the archetype of the ice queen might pleases me. That doesn't mean that I will necessarily like her. But there's a potential. It's not an insult, if someone thinks that an Li, - generally those who know me - could interest me even if that might no be the case later.
Otherwise, I have never said in my life that x is exactly like y , because he is sharing one or two qualities lol. This is exactly what I don't like actually. Like people saying, Vivienne is Morrigan 2.0 because they have the same archetype.
And don't worry, It might be me who is seeing things, I'm not really in a good mood either. But my comment was neutral.
EIGHT ROMANCES!!! Still bouncing around in glee over the confirmation on that. I double-punched the air when I heard.
It's the perfect number for me, since I've been planning to make eight Inquisitors since we heard about the qunari. (One for each race/gender combination.) What's more, we've got confirmation on five of them. Just three more to go!

I was mostly talking about the personality. Nice, kind, cute ( meaning adorable ), the archetype aka, a lovely character, as opposed to an ice character.
There are many Tali fans who are also Merril fans. For a lot of reasons, but for a lot of them, the archetype appeals to them. If you are offended, that's your business, because franckly I'm re-reading my comment and I don't see how it could be offensive at all.

Hello there, just want to speculate a bit!
8 Romances I think it will be equal number of girls and boys 4girls 4 boys because otherwise it will be not fair. What we know so far about confirmed LI?
Advisors
Cullen - 1b
Josie - 1g
Companions
Dorian - 2b
Sera - 2g
Cass - 3g
There are only 1 more girl to confirm and 2 more boys. We know, there are will be race restricted companions and one of them outside from our quizzy party.
Can't say much, because there are too many different variations who can be our LI, who can not. The only thing I can say for sure, next LI will be male, because they introduced Josie for us not long ago.
