Happy 400 pages, everyone.
Aye, same to you. This is on a rather odd note, but that seems to be just another day on the BSN. ![]()

I have a feeling the language/culture barrier here may be doing more harm than good.
Unfortunately, I do not understand the reference...so there's that.
I *think* what she's trying to say is that there are certain story tropes associated with m/f that look odd out of that context. One of these is "lady and knight." Cullen is probably going to fit the knight in shining armor achetype, so it would be a conscious subversion to make him available for men.
Happy 400!
I'd adore Blackwall, but I think Solas is more likely.
I'm definitely still hoping for Solas. Blackwall looks way too old for my taste and there's the calling issue.
Definitely holding a candle out for Varric as LI.
With all this talk about the knight in shining armor trope, now I'm REALLY hoping we get bisexual (or gay!) Blackwall, even if he's not a LI. I want to see the honorable, shiny knight trope applied to a gay/bi character for once.
It looks fine to me. What's the problem?
I expected this. Oh Maker.
Guys please ask devs at Gaymer X who is BI man LI option. We already know about the rest ones.
I really like the ignore function on this site, but it's useless if people keep quoting the person. Just saying.

For me, Blackwall is a little out of my age range, and he reminds me a lot of a more hirsute version of my dad from what we've seen so far, though I think that might change in-game. However, he would be very different from the LI's we've had before, which generally seem to run to younger men and women, and I would be very happy at his inclusion for those of you who would prefer his type. At the end of the day, the most I can hope for is a balanced range of characters, and that as many people as possible are happy with their options. Of course if I designed the game people might look/act differently- but I wouldn't grow much as a person or expand my horizons as a result. I LOVE it when a companion defies expectations, when I get a slight insight into the worlds of people with different experiences and inclinations than my own.

Reminds me of someone saying Cassandra looked like his mom. Awkward.

Oh, they could make him to be like Bill in the Last of Us! But romanceable please

Are you saying she is not capable of having kids ... ![]()
I'm not attracted to Blackwall, Solas or Iron Bull. It's just my taste really and I have no doubt that they could still sway me (I wasn't originally attracted to Alistair either). It just means the onus is on me, not on them.

No I'm saying that romancing Cassandra would probably feel really awkward for him.
Definitely holding a candle out for Varric as LI.
+ 1 like and i add Vivienne to the list.

I said that Cass reminded me of my mom before. Mostly in the toughness. Not the appearance.

Anticipating which romance will be tragic beforehand is difficult as it's less about the character themselves and more about the tastes of the author.
Would you consider the Leliana and Isabela romances tragic?
On the other hand, Patrick wrote Jack. And the romance in the Masked Empire ended with the two women breaking up after the Empress decided to slaughter a bunch of elves, I believe. I'm not sure I'd trust him to do a happy romance yet.
I care way less about the calling issue than the fact that Blackwall is really, really old, I'll be totally honest with you. If Solas is a "tragic romance", I'd still rather take him. I romanced Anders every run in DA2, I feel like I'm prepared for a surprise.

I have much of the same issue due with Jacob in ME2, since he has the same name as my youngest brother. I couldn't handle Shep calling someone named Jacob in a directly romantic fashion. I know it's a game, but it still didn't feel right. ![]()
Plus two for Varric and Vivienne.
+2 to to this as well. Vivienne isn't to my taste, and I'm afraid she isn't available, but I'm still rooting for her fans. ![]()

Actually, Blackwall is Team Vulgar: Sera/IB/Blackwall. ![]()
I don't think anyone on Blacky thread would object him being honorable kind and good bisexual person who doesn't shag everything that moves (except Inquisitor). Screw the stereotypes!

She's close to 40, she could be the mom of many players. As do Blackwall, Solas, Iron Bull and Varric, well more like dads, I don't think they looks like moms.
It's really weird to have companions that old though. I'm so not used to it beside like one exception. It's like the characters are aging with the timeline. At this point I'm thinking the last game will happen in 9:70 and be called Dragon Age:Geriatric.

Yes, I mean that, thank you.
