We're heading to Redcliffe. What's the chances of Teagan being a/the non-advisor/non-companion LI? What's the likelihood of there being two non-advisor/non-companion LI's (we really need a better term for this)?

 

The thing with Bann Teagan is that he isn't very important, even as an Arl. We'll likely spend more time interacting with the very powerful, like Gaspard, Celene, Alistair/Anora...Teagan is just a subordinate, and that would undermine his chances as a LI since we won't need to interact much.

 

Also, I think the outsider will not be male, for there is already plenty in the core team.

I still don't know what to make of these secondary NPC romances. I wish we could get better confirmation on whether they're part of the 8 LIs or just flings. We've gotten so much information and reassurance that the advisors will be different than NPC romances we've seen in the past. This new information is really confusing.

This was brought up in the Cullen thread, but I thought I'd throw it out over here since it's definitely something worth discussing.

My initial thought was that it might be too many variables because he has multiple options for a wife at the end of DA: O, depending on PC choice. However, if they just kill her off regardless of who she is, problem could be solved.  Of course, then we are getting dangerously close to Carth Syndrome territory.....

Jaessa is an apprentice, a love interest, and the worst voice acting I've ever encountered in a BioWare game.

But Tegan is too old. I remweber he was 45 during DAO. Now he probably 50- 60.

I know that I shouldn't get my hopes up, but I think it's looking pretty likely that gay guys will get three options this time.  We know Dorian for sure.  And, unless they did two straight exclusive guys - Cullen and one companion, I think that we are likely to get an ungated bisexual guy and a gated bisexual guy.  So, depending on race, there will be two to three options for us.  Which is really almost too good to be true.  I'm still adjusting to getting two options.  I don't know what I'll do with myself if I get a third one!

Hell, if in the end there are confirmed four bisexuals in games (along with two heterosexual and two homosexual), I'm pouring myself a glass of whisky to toast Bioware for their choices.

I thought they might be willing to clarify since they openly acknowledged both things. Another "soon" might happen, though. lol

 

I just thought maybe it's possible that they didn't realize at first that the comment was confusing. It could have been purposefully vague.

Jaesa being the worst?  Not for me, that dubious honor belongs to Doc.  He was awful in every way to me.  His VA direction, his character design, his personality.  I really hated the guy.    

 

I can understand why folks dislike Jaesa's VA style though.  That game is filled with YMMV, from start to finish, especially for the VA work.

Plus, I got the impression that the Warden PC was supposed to be on the younger side (based upon being called "kid" and "pup" and such,) and Wynne was far older.  Whereas the median age of the Quizzy is supposed to be 20-40 years old.  Especially for players that are within that age range (or even past it!) Blackwall could be exactly what they want.

 

Yea; ever since Blackwall first showed up in concept art, greying hair and all, I've seen people dismiss him as an LI option because of his age and I've been skeptical of that reasoning; based on what I've witnessed, I don't think the desire for older men is quite as niche as some people on these forums believe it is. 

 

Likewise when it comes to Iron Bull, I don't think the desire for bigger, burlier, rougher, more rugged men is as niche as some people on here think it is.

 

Then again, I live in south Texas with a lot of roughnecks, so my reference pool may be skewed.

I think Doc's VA was good.  I still wanted to momentarily turn to the Dark Side and boot him out the airlock plz don't look Satele I'm still your star pupil but this is for the greater good.

Personally I think that a lot of folks just aren't going to care as much about looks period once the game launches.  They'll find one thing to love or hate about the Lis, which will make it the newest source of division among posters.   Before too long, no one is going to be talking nearly as much about their appearances.

I hate Doc, too. He's such a weird mumble jumble of characters shoved together with no depth. It's like they wanted a Han Solo who was a good guy but... not...

I'm starting to wonder if Blackwall is the ungated bisexual male. He is, after all, the last remaining person from the leaked survey pictures and all of the others have been confirmed as LIs.

Then I would predict Iron Bull as a race gated bisexual option and an unidentified female non-advisor, non-companion as our last race gated bisexual option. Just my thoughts though.

Didn't the survey theory kinda get debunked when Cass and Cullen got confirmed straight?

Full head of hair and thick, bushy beard with no grey in it would leave me shocked if his age starts with any number higher than 4.

I would be really happy if there are four bisexual options, since it would mean that inclusion was the dev team's concern behind gender-gating, not the "realist" argument which I dislike furiously (think double set of quotation marks here).

 

Getting three m/m options would also be awesome and unprecedented... so many gay playthroughs!

I agree, the wording is weird if he's talking about one of the main romance options.

Gender imbalance, and a lack of same-sex options. It does sound like the old days of Baldur's Gate.

My grandfather was in his late seventies when he died, and didn't have a single strand of grey hair on his head.

 

My father, on the other hand, was thirty when he started going grey.
