It's not about being too many. It's that it could come out as forced or hallow. I don't think that it means anything anymore if everyone loved everyone ( which is why I think race gated romances could be interesting.)

Another post I saw said there could be gay and bi people and that would be fine. I think that is just as silly as the other way around.

Personally, I think it's telling that it seems like it's mostly straight people who complain about all bisexual love interests.

And when there is a game with only straight people or only straight love interests, no one complains that it's "forced."

People have always cared about how important the LIs were to the plot. I mean, obviously not everyone, but a lot of people. Personally, I find plot important LIs to be more fulfilling. I enjoyed Anders romance in DA2 much more than Fenris, because I felt Fenris was so disconnected from the plot. Anders felt like the most important character in the game besides Hawke and the pairing made it feel like the story was fully about us and the compilation of our efforts. I look at all the interaction with the LIs as part of the overall relationship, not just the "romance specific" content. It's sort of like how I don't only think of "romance talk" as part of my relationship with my real life partner.

That being said, though, I still think it's wise to wait and see the plots before assuming who is and who isn't important.

Well it's true that we won't know everything until we play, but I feel I have to mention that Cassandra and Cullen are almost certain to be more important to the plot than most others.  Josephine being the exception.  You can't even start the game without them whereas other companions don't even have to be recruited.  The history of DA will always include the straight LIs and Josephine.

Now it's possible that another LI will show up and be plot important even if we don't recruit them, but I can only say possible in the "we can't be 100% sure until we play" kind of way.  It seems incredibly unlikely.

Oh my gosh but no :/ it was random numbers.

And the point is that "random numbers" end up with some people getting a far superior experience than others. Hence, I believe it's more important to account for the entire audience and plan the numbers. The acceptance that sexualities are evenly distributed, a fact that has little bearing other than the fact that everyone has an equal shot at romancing someone that works for them, seems well worth the trade off.

Bisexuals aren't necessarily promiscuous or overly sexually driven. With that in mind, why would an attraction to men and women make him less of a man of principle and duty?

There are even bisexual virgins, imagine that! You can be attracted to both genders and not be even slightly promiscuous!

What a time to be alive.

I don't think their required existence necessarily matters. You could miss Isabela and most people still consider her more important than Merrill when it comes to the overall plot. I would rather wait and see than assume.

What if the leftover resources from the extra went into improving existing LI arcs or opening up race gates added for lack of resources?

In this scenario there wouldn't be any race destrictions because otherwise it wouldn't be equal. If there would be race restrictions then if you take them off then there might not be equal amount of LIs anymore and it might also be possible that the characters are written in a way that it wouldn't make sense to take race restrictions off. It is a good idea to put more resources on improving the existing ones but I think there are limits how much content a romance can have. So in some point there might be enough resources to implement that extra LI and I think it should be done rather than leave out.

KOTOR2 wasn't even by BW.

Then I don't think its a coincidence that it's bioware games even more now

Oh I take that back apparently i've played 2 more games then i thought i had

No.

...I can't say why "I"?

I... Do not see the merit in this at all, I'm afraid. Pretending to be the opposite sex is not an adequate compromise, nor does it offer any real equality for gay people whatsoever. I'd be happy for people to have the option to cross-dress if they wanted, though.

I said Look like the opposite gender, not just crossdressing..even though in that game it is but thats more of a style thing..

anyway I know but the fact that its just not in there at all is horrible but then its like.."oh you can at least do this, thats something" while in these ones they limit things the they want for reasons they want in the same way they always do just now it goes both ways and apparently it's perfectly okay and great cause they have it happening to more than one or two types of people..but in my vacuum of thought it sucks just as much as always.

If you make Cassandra a man, he'll still prefer men. If you make Sera a man, he'll still prefer women.I don't see how this would help at all.

What if you make them into elephants?

I just have a really hard time imagining a situation where there's no way existing relationships could be improved. I have a hard time imagining a situation where there's no way they could be improved or expanded. To me, the likeliness of this just seems so low it's almost not worth considering. That's just me, though.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,

Her face is too angular, jawline too sharp, eyes too close together, and something else just seems off... Uncanny Valley has a new member

If it makes you feel any better they probably won't look like that in the game. I felt that way when I saw Cullen. I was like "what did you do smack him with an ugly stick?!" but another image of him looked a lot better. So I feel like those images are highly misleading.

I just find it funny that even in random number with distribution for gay men, gay women, straight men, straight women, somehow, straight dudes still get the most options. lol

I think at this point I'd prefer it be like Harvest Moon where you have to be straight but you can make your characters look like the other gender..

Surely having access to the same number of LI's for each sexuality is a step up from having to play as a man who happens to look like a woman, and vice-versa. I appreciate that it's not the same as giving everyone the same access to every option, but nobody is really getting shortchanged in this method. If BW have decided to include an uneven number of options that will be truly disappointing and there will be a lot of people making it known, but it doesnt seem that way so far :)

Me, too. I prefer Harvest Moon for girl though. Too bad the game ends after you marry. That's the only reason that prevent me from playing it for years to come.

I truly hope Solas is confirmed as the final LI in the group.

AS for the LI outside of our group?
