My speculations about LIs are almost always in a state of flux.  It keeps my expectations down to manageable levels.

I can understand the feeling, but I'm honestly thrilled that the gay and lesbian DA fans finally have a companion all to themselves.  The problem with all bisexual characters is that it can leave the impression that bisexuality is a game mechanic for the player, not a legitimate sexuality.

 

That's exactly why I've never been on the "all characters bisexual" wagon. I can see where people are coming from, but I honestly just really like the extra layer of identity added when the characters are more varied and have their own preferences, no matter what that be... and a sexuality isn't being used to make everyone an option.

Oh wow, thank you so much for showing this! So perhaps more people will end up happy with the companion/advisor choices now that we don't have a spot filled up from that misconception.

Tell me about it.  Myself and some of the other posters had no trouble calling them out on it. 
 
I'm hoping for at three bisexual options (leaving out the Dagna Theory ™ which would leave Solas/Blackwall, Iron Bull and Vivi,) and Varric for the straight gated romance.  Although if Varric was bi, I'd be happy to share with the male Varricmancers.

If Vivienne is an LI, I'd bet almost anything she's gated against elves. Elves, and possibly qunari. Maybe dwarves, too. But definitely elves.

I'm sure that Vivienne, if she is an LI, would be human only. Possibly even male only as well. I can't see her in any relationship that could impact her social standing. 

 

Varric being a female Dwarf only LI makes so much sense... but I find it incredibly difficult to believe that they would make a female dwarf exclusive romance.

This is a bit of a misconception. There is at least one character who is not a companion or an advisor whom you can flirt with. When Cameron said that there were eight romances, he was referring to eight romances within the companions and advisors.

 

So, rejoice or not as you see fit.

Out of 12, We know that Cole and Leliana are not romances. Out of the 10 left, 5 of them are confirmed. So 3 more... I think it's safe now to say Vivienne is in the running again then. That leaves Iron Bull, Varric, Blackwall and Solas.

Only two men may proceed... Or 3 I guess if it turns out Vivienne isn't a romance. I'd be surprised if that's the case though in this situation.

Still while I'll be happy for those that want Vivi as an LI all the females close to the Inquisitor that wasn't an LI in previous games being a romance option is bleh. Is there something specific about Solas and Blackwall that they had to be dudes in that case? (if they're not LIs).

I have been drawn to Blackwall ever since the first concept arts so I truly hope he will be one of the remaining three. It doesn't matter to me if he is straight, gay or bi, I just hope he is an option.

 

Iron Bull is pretty much certainly LI given all the hints, possibly bi which I don't mind either.

 

For the third I would go for Vivienne but she would seem to fit the "got no time for your stuff" category with her personality so not sure.

 

No opinion about Solas or Varric since I don't care for either of them that much.

So it's beginning to look like I had a 75% chance of getting the romance I wanted and lost. I feel so much better now.

There is a chance that the LI I really want for my first Quizzy isn't available (Varric.)  I don't find really any of the other potentially straight/bi men nearly as appealing.  If he isn't available, I figure I shouldn't sweat it.  I'll wait to see who's personalities I mesh with the best once I actually play the game.

 

I know it isn't much consolation, but try to think of it like that.  It sure beats spending the entire summer bummed out.

She's not a noble, she's just a circle mage. There'd be no pressure to marry and definitely none to reproduce, she's a mage. Orlais doesn't care about same sex relationships. I doubt she'd see a woman as a problem.

The thing about Varric is I feel I'd always be playing second fiddle to Bianca. The fact that the crossbow is still the only bow he can wield doesn't help.

I am still not convinced that it's Vivienne.  I have this sinking suspicion that it will be three of those 4 guys with two of them having complementary race-gating.  It would create an extra romance for straight females and gay males, with race determining which guy you get as your "extra".

I don't know why I can't shake this feeling.

As much as I like the old Da2 way of doing things, it could be that Dorian (for example) has a story that could be told no other way. Maybe he's clashing with his family, and his sexuality might tie into it somewhat (like maybe they pressure him into marriage).

 

I was thinking that it was the only way to be "fair" to everyone. I don't mind that Dorian is gay and it makes sense for his character to be so and I don't think it would suit him to be straight. But I am disapointed because he is the best looking guy out of the companions and I won't get to romance him. Much like people are disapointed not to romance Cullen and are already wanting to mod his character to make him bi. So I hope somebody mods Dorian because I want to romance him as a female. But I was thinking the easiest way for everyone to get who they want would be to make them all bi.
