Wish I had found this gif when I saw Josephine's information and picture fit me pretty perfectly, and I really hope she's just as wonderful in game. Now if I can have Josephine AND either Blacwall or Ironbull I'm going to be one extremely happy lady. Keeping my fingers crossed for at least one of them for sure  <3

But if the two race-gated companions complement each other, then in function, everyone only gets 2-3 romances, which isn't terribly excessive.

But it would still mean that within the same gender and sexuality there would be 2 more romance options.

Ugh.  No offense, but could you please not refer to bisexuality as playersexuality?  It isn't the same thing.  Fenris and Merrill, due to the ambiguous nature of their sexualities (i.e they weren't confirmed bi via WoG,) could possibly be considered as such.  However, Josie and (possibly) Iron Bull are stated as bisexual.   :(

 My apologies. It was a slip of the fingers. I meant no offense. (leaves thread in shame :()

EDIT: I changed it.

If we were to expect equal distribuition, I think the romances will be like this:

Cass and Cullen for straight

Dorian and Sera for gay

Scribbes (yeah, I like that name) and Solas for bi romance

Vivienne and Iron bull for race gated bi

David Gaider said that the priority was making sure everyone got the same number across "real world" demographics, like gender/sexuality, and that race distribution was not a priority. So, I doubt it will be 5/3.

So, people think Vivienne won't be an LI because she's too ambitious and focused on the mission? Sounds alot like Miranda to me...

I'm of the opinion that they wont do 5/3 in favor of male LIs and I think, honestly, it's not a very fair number even with gating. I think Viv will be in and she'll be race gated to avoid scandal. Iron Bull seems like he's all but certain at this point and I think he'll be our race gated male. To me, that leaves Blackwall and Solas to be our "available to all" bi male. I think it will be Solas. I'm biased, but I also think he just seems more like what we usually see from a romance and he balances well against Iron Bull, since they're two extremes.

This is going to be rough if Gareth really is doing Solas.

I'm sure I'd still end up going with David's writing, but it'd be a tougher decision than usual.

In this case though, I think both can apply. I mean, Iron Bull is a James Bond-like guy and yet suddenly wants to settle with just Inquisitor while Josephine is hinted by Gaider to have fanatical devotion not just to the Inquisition, but the Inquisitor themselves. That fits the term playersexual pretty well in either case.

I hope you understand that "playersexual" is a very insulting term.  Having a bi romance is no more "playersexuality" than any LI that falls for us.  Why aren't the straight characters "playersexual" then?  Because as long as you have the right gender and the character isn't race gated, they will be open for the PC.

It's not the same thing, so please don't use that term.  This only comes up with bisexual characters and it's pretty lopsided if it doesn't apply to straight and gay characters as well.  It's bad enough that people that aren't as understanding as you are take it as a stance about real life bisexuality.   Please don't inadvertently encourage them.   :(

But maybe the romance encounter that is not with companions or advisers will be male PC only,  and CL said there was at least one so there may be even more.

He meant flirts, not actual romances. The 8 romances are spread between companions and advisors.

I think they were talking if DG wrote Solas.  DG wrote The Stolen Throne.

Didn't mean it like that. My apologies. I just meant that those two characters seem to love the Inquisitor and not see race or gender at all. Is there a better, more specific term? I guess pansexual works.

I know they're not full romances but they are romantic encounters in some shape or form.

It's okay hun.  I know you didn't mean any harm.  And yes, for non-race gated/non-gender gated romances, pansexual is a much better term.  <hugs>

I edited it.  I don't know who Solas' author is, but some are worried that if DG wrote him, he might turn out like the character I linked from the Stolen Throne, which DG did write.

Maybe they thought Mr Gaider wrote Solas?  Just in case that's what they meant, Patrick Weekes is Solas' writer.
