I thought seriously about opening the playthrough from an earlier check and seeing if I picked the wrong option, since I thought you could talk him into it if rivalry was maxed.  But I'm trying to have worldstates that differ by more than race, class, and gender.

 

XD you can I think you just need to mention the slavery bit at the gallows if he doesn't auto side with you (i've never had an issue with him siding with me but I've never had a game that I didn't bang him on/had full river on so...)

 

Edit: As for Cassandra. I view that as complaining about Dorian/Sera at this point. I mean...it's done with. I could see asking BW for a butch warrior lady for the next game but *shrug*

So that's two straight options for ladies, one for straight men

 

Bi

Josie

Iron Bull

Vivienne

 

So that's up to three options for straight men, one for the gay men, two for the lesbians, three for the straight ladies at this point.

Dorian

Sera

 

Let's tally: 3 for straight men, three for the lesbians, two for gay men, three for straight men, four for straight women.  Or, they could switch up Vivienne for someone else and make it two for for the lesbians, three for gay men, and four for straight women.

 

Is it really that hard to believe that BW could favor straight women this time around, even if on accident?

The devs said everyone should have 2 options. i don't understand what you are implying. that there should only be 1 romance for each. So 1 Gay Man, 1 Lesbian, 1 straight man, and 1 straight woman to romance??

I don't argue that, and that wasn't exactly my point.  I've read posters absolutely aghast at the mere mention that straight women might get more content than straight men and are quick to state that will never happen.

 

I don't wish anyone to get shorted on the romances.  I hope you know that.

One reason I am really glad that the set sexuality system are giving you guys representation. The all BI LIs seemed almost shady like they were hiding their actual sexualities, which isnt the case here. So All for Josie and Iron Bull, definitely Bi characters, and heres hoping for more!

But what I think will happen is 2/4/2 with 1 male and 1 female race gated. This is what I think it will be;

Josephine - Ungated Bisexual 

Solas or Blackwall - Ungated Bisexual

I really like this layout. A lot. It's also come to the point where I wouldn't be disappointed by either Solas or Blackwall. I mean, I like Solas's personality better, but Blackwall seems different from what we normally get, so I wouldn't mind so much.

I've seen one theory(as far as I can tell, pure speculation) that the gating might occur because the inquisitor of the gated race is actually related to the gated romance option. 

 

 

While I've been perhaps the single most vocal opponent of race gating on these forums, this is one application of it I wouldn't mind. It actually makes sense, and adds some depth and characterization beyond the character having the random quirk of not wanting to bang whatever race.

 

Specifically the theory was suggesting that it may be Cullen a human inquisitor is related to.

By the way, despite my passion on the subject, I truly and sincerely wish that we can get who we want and enjoy our LI choices.  For those that might not, I hope playing the game and getting to know these characters helps.

 

As for me with Varric, well, I'll hold on hope unless the devs tell me isn't available.

I didn't mean to dredge up bad memories with by joking about it. It's how I deal with the shitty attitude that people have. 

 

I've dealt with a lot of prejudice both because nature committed the terrible sin to not make the straight in the first place, and the second terrible sin of giving me a particular type of guy that I really like. The "Just Admit You're Gay" is actually on the "less insulting" slide of the scale of things I've heard from people, which is why I'm just not open with anyone IRL about my sexuality. They can either think I'm straight or gay based on who I'm dating, unless they're a really close, old friend in which case they know who I am anyway.

Here's my opinion, I posted this in the Vivienne thread, but it's relevant here.

 

It's unlikely (not sure) that Blackwall will be a romance because he's fairly old and tainted. (once again not sure)

 

Iron Bull will probably be a romance.

 

Varric might be a LI as well.

 

So it's either Solas or Vivienne. They said they would pay attention to gender/ sexuality equality over races right? (Even though they may have meant that more toward player-race gating)

 

Solas is in his 40's (early-middle aged), and we already have an Elf romance, Sera.

 

Vivienne on the other hand is incredibly attractive, and young looking. We also need to balance out that there are more male romance options at this point, so Vivienne become the likely choice.

 

OR

 

Varric won't be a romance option, and Solas or Blackwall would be available.
