Why is Blackwall suspected more than Viv and Solas?

I think because when asked if he was romanceable, instead of the typical answer that the devs were giving  of "Not going to answer" and "No Comment," they said "Soon..."

Plus so far all (or close to all) of the characters on the leaked survey have been romanceable.  Iron Bull has strong "evidence" that he is romanceable and if he is than that leaves Blackwall as the one.

But now that it's been pointed out to me, I can't look at Blackwall and not see him as an older version of the creeper guy from those dance of man**ore videos... >.>

EDIT:

Because during Raptr someone asked about his romance, and the dev response was "Soon"

They could have been talking about the remaining romances being revealed at GaymerX.... I'm very conflicted about Blackwall.... I don't want his romance arc to be tragic but he's an old Grey Warden ;---;

I accidentally posted this in the Dagna thread (Dagna   :()

I have a weird theory, namely that each companion/advisor writer (except Gaider, of course) is only writing one LI. Cassandra was originally going to be written by Jennifer Hepler, which lends credence to my theory.

Besides Gaider writing two LIs....

Lukas Kristjanson is writing Sera

Sylvia Feketekuty is writing Josephine

Brianne Battye is writing Cullen

Of the five potential LIs left, there are three writers between them (the same number of LIs left).

This leads me to believe that the three LIs left are Vivienne (written by Mary Kirby), Iron Bull (written by Patrick Weekes), and Blackwall (written by Sheryl Chee).

That makes so much sense... but, but... Varric....

I don't know... I'm not feeling Blackwall anymore than Solas, but I know a lot of people are (Though this could just be bias because de-bearded Blackwall would look very much like my Dad). I'm too greedy, I need more evidence. We absorb it all faster than they feed it to us.

Possible, but with Gaider pulling double duty it wouldn't amaze me if Weekes was, too. If they've got enough faith in him to write three companions, they've got enough faith for him to write two LI's.

Yeah, that list does seem to make a bunch of sense.

I really didn't want to be stuck with 3 warrior types (Cullen, IB and Blackwall) but it's seeming more likely than not. Ah well. We'll know soon enough I suppose.

I don't think the "soon" for Blackwall meant anything. Even if he ends up being the LI, I seriously don't think they were hinting at that. I think people dig deep for cryptic messages sometimes when the devs are obviously just not answering the question.

I wish we could just have them all :( Iron Bull is 90% a given. I absolutely adore Solas and Blackwall from what I've read. Though it's looking more Blackwall, especially when they've said how Solas is kind of introverted and off in his own corner... but then my charrie would totally try to drag him out of his shell >.> Cliche I know but still.

Yeah, I feel kind of bad for complaining because that's still a lot of choice, and I'm sure they'll all be great romances but...so many warrior types..

Ah well. Though Mort has been super optimistic, so whenever I feel my optimism waning, I just read his posts and get my hopes up again  Never ending cycle!

I just realized that my theory doesn't take into account the two race-gated love interests. They could be Vivienne and Blackwall, I suppose.

The devs said that race-gating was done for "story reasons," which might refer to personality traits from each character (prejudices maybe?).

I wonder if we'll have any 'false' flirts with characters even if we can't romance them like we could with Aveline or Varric (though Varric only had one if I recall) Would be interesting to see how our companions would react to flirts from someone they aren't into, like how would Dorian handle turning down a flirt from a lady PC or Cullen turning down a flirt from a gent PC.

Yeah not feeling the stuck with three warrior types for the ladies thing.

But isn't Blackwall a warden? I'm not sure why he'd be prejudiced. The wardens take anybody. They really can't afford not to with the whole blight thing.

I have to stay optimistic now! I already convinced too many people things would go well. They will come with pitchforks.  :P

I still think he has his chances...he's in the running with IB, Varric and Blackwall, at this stage I think IB is in the love boat and Blackwall is out, which leaves Solas and Varric...

That would make an awesome "upcoming duel" advertisement :D

I too want a brainy romance with Tightpants !

I really hope the story reasons aren't "character X is basically a racist".

I frankly don't think any reasons that aren't "Iron Bull's penis is just too big" will amount to much more than that.

I would really hope that prejudice wouldn't count at story reasons :( Someone did bring up a cool 'What if' scenario with Cullen about him not romancing a human PC due to the human PC possibly being related that would be interesting something along those lines though I have a feeling that the race gates will be on Bi LIs.

I think they're as much as reasons as Sera, Dorian, Cass and Cullen to not go for the other team.

I could live with Solas being afraid of studding non-elf children.  Somehow I can see that being within his character.

I don't think Solas cares about being an elf or reproducing. That doesn't seem like him, to me. He seems disconnected from that kind of thinking.

Well if Vivianne is romance able I don't think she would date and elf because Orlesians view them as lower class and servants. On the other hand the Inquisitor will be one of the most powerful people in Orlais and Fereldan. So who knows?
