Did you miss the part in my post where I said that equaling someone's sexuality (something they are born with) to someone coming off as racist (something you are not born with) as silly?
Again, why gender must be a important thing if species isn't ? Species of Thedas are biologically different, unlike human "races" who are just variations of the same species.
Kudos to girls who are into older guys, but as a woman in my twenties, I don't really see anyone in the pool who doesn't look a bit too old for me to feel comfortable rp-ing a romance with? I know this game is rated 'mature', but I feel a bit sorry for late teens/people under thirty wanting to play a straight Lady Inquisitor.
I don't doubt that Bioware are gonna win me over with some amazing characters, but Iron Bull, Varric and Blackwall all feel old enough to be my Dad and I have to admit that feels weird.
I'l probably play this game a silly number of times/try all the options anyway. Sera looks pretty awesome.
I think there's something to be said about the problem of male love interests typically being older than female love interests (although, in DA:I only Sera comes off a youngish LI) but for some reason I am expecting the inquisitor to be older than Hawke started as this time around. Not sure why. In that case, there wouldn't be such a disparity between the ages.

Because you are born with your sexuality and unless it's said otherwise I find it hard to believe that say a human would be born with a dislike of all elves for example.
Also I didn't say this would make the companions racist just that it would be hard for ME to not have it rub off that way and it might turn me off to that character. Who knows they might pull it off very well and it won't come off that way to me at all but I'm worried that won't happen and it'll rub me the wrong way.

That's exactly what I'm doing XD my Quizzy's gonna be 20. The LIs being older should hopefully mean more mature LIs so there's a upside to everything.

It'd be cool if I could find a companion that played somewhat like my Dalish Warden. They started as racist (I killed those humans in the beginning, for example), but the story as a whole is a growing process. Nothing is set in stone.
I love how someone in their 40s is "old." 
I think the whole age thing is silly, because one of the last things we're really going to care about is how old they are once we actually play the game.
Now, for those that have companions that remind them of family, that's a completely different matter. For example, I couldn't ever picture Aveline in a romantic way because she looks a lot like my sister-in-law.

Because you are born with your sexuality and unless it's said otherwise I find it hard to believe that say humans are born with a dislike of all elves for example.
I do think that a human/elf not wanting to date humans/elves can easily be ehhhh since elves are basically humans with pointy ears biologically, but there are significant body type differences between qunari and dwarves for example...

You're mixing species and speciesm; if sexuality is a preference you're born with, why isn't it also the case for say elfsexuality ? It's also a preference you're born with.
(PS: sexuality doesn't mean dislike for the other side, I'm straight and don't dislike guys, I just don't engage in romance shenanigans with them)

Not a problem. If you aren't attracted to dwarves, it isn't racist. It's just preference, and having attraction to whoever you date is healthy. If you have 0 sexual attraction the relationship won't be at it's best IMO. (And I do think this is included in abstinent relationships)
Otherwise would I not date a male. I was born straight, and grew up and chose not to be attracted to a certain skin color, maybe.
So I am a bad person if I won't be with the girl who is white, just because I am not attracted to white girls? I don't think so, because the only reason I am not attracted to guys is because I am not attracted to them.

I"m not trying to equal real life racism to Thedas racism I said that in another post right on the other page, preferences are fine but I just find it odd if you flat out refused to date someone because of them being a dwarf for example. Like i mentioned before it just rubs ME the wrong way and comes off as maybe some Thedas racism thats the way it feels to ME. I wish people stop bringing real life racism into this since I'm not comparing the two I'm using only examples that may exist within Thedas not real life ones.

I just want my PC to be able to reject any LIs for the same reason LIs can reject them is all.
That's all it'd take for me to be content.
(Plus rejecting human LIs on my elf fetishist characters will be hilarious).
That pretty much confirms Vivienne as a romance option unless they're going to do 5 male love interests/3 female love interests, which is not typical at all. The only game that was remotely like that was DA2, with a DLC companion.

Race is a blurry concept used out of its confort zone that was originally animals.
I use "species" because "races" are too tied with the false concept of human races and ends up being misleading.

Yes, but just like someone can be attracted to various species, someone can be attracted to just one or two. Do they need a "good reason" to ?

YOUR opinion is influenced by your life in OUR world, and can very well be challeged by the outlook of characters that live in a different world.
After all, characterization must be made with the fictional world in mind.

Whenever I read this sort of thing, I want to eat some cake. And then do more push-ups. (Because my lady dwarf PCs are also my liftspiration.)
