Well i mean im kinda in a boat i really wanted Sera for my Melf. I dont feel like we have ever gotten Melf on Felf from Male Elf player POV. Makes me sad panda but i have to eat it all the same.

Hit the nail on the head, even if unintentionally. People are asking for what they specifically want. "Fairness" isn't anybodies primary concern. If the LIs were distributed evenly like candy even though they likely won't be, according to DG) people would still be upset that their preferred LI isn't available to the race/gender they want to play as.

 

I think people dress up their opinions to make it look fair. I probably do it too.

I think that's fair. I didn't want my exclusive option stuck as an NPC, either. I've strongly supported the NPC romances as the bi ones. At this point, though, I think 8 LIs is a strong possibility.

I was thinking more in terms from the player character standpoint.  If you're female or male who prefers same sex partners you have the male/female companions that role that way and the bi companions that are open to the PC as well.  I read some early posts that seem to be disgruntled about limited bisexual options.  I do not really understand the complaint (or perhaps I am misinterpreting something.)

uhm...for now I have interest in only the males. So my first choices are: Solas, Varric, Iron Bull for my ladies Inquisitors.

 

I was interested in Sera for a run with a male Inquisitor, but I think I'll pass and I'll simply have her as a good friend. Maybe I'll warm up about the others females playng the game.

 

I must admit I still can't really loose completely my fear of a replay of ME3 with the forgotten straight famale's romance.  Usually DA is way better with females characters, but I'm still a little afraid.

People have made a lot of reasonable arguments in the past as to why they didn't feel 2 companions romances was equal to 1 compnaion and 1 NPC. I think it's perfectly valid to want the different types of romances evenly distributed. If the tally is still 2/2/2, then I think it's perfectly fair to want the party members to be the gay and straight options. I know I would be upset if the gay option was the NPC. I think it's hypocritical of me to expect heterosexuals to be happy about it.

Yea for me its a comfort issue. The only time ive ever made a female was in WoW and even then it was because it was a caster and guys in dresses look strange to me.
