Anders never did squat for me. I thought he was one dimensional in both DAA and DAI.  In DAA he was Alistair lite and in DAI he was unmitigated (preachy) rage machine.

I'm also hesitant about the inclusion of a T romance option, though I'm fine with the inclusion of T characters.  This is mostly because I have 0 interest of any kind in one and I can at least summon passing interest in gay romances.  I also honestly think that the number of people deeply interested in a T romance is so low that it represents a not especially great expectation to set for those who are.  It seems like an interesting thing to explore now and again, but I don't think Bioware's current apparent policy of more or less *always* providing more than one choice for any given sex/orientation combination would work as well with T.  I don't see how they can approach it in any way except a seemingly dismissive "eh, here have a few bones" or else investing a lot of time and energy into something that frankly the vast, vast majority of people probably aren't that interested in.

Anyone else can't wait for the banter between Vivienne and Dorian if they're both romanced?

I could see a situation where you break up with one romance and start another, which could lead to some special banter like it did in the previous games.

Do we know if we can romance more than one companion? I know some people are into it and there can be some interesting banter from it (though I personally prefer the warning friend banter to the PCs LI rather than two LIs having banter which is fighting over the PC) I really hope we get some concern friend banter going on if we're close friends with one companion and romancing someone they may not fully get on with.

The meat of it is tomorrow, but it officially starts today.

Besides Bioware, Gearbox will also be at GaymerX, I'm genuinely curious about how they approach inclusivity, must be tricky given the games they make.

What does Gearbox make?

Think they already said this is not supported. They also said companions and advisors can form relationships too (like Tali and Garrus), maybe that's what Poke meant?

Oooh, I'm curious how that will play out. Will they be the same each time or can we play cupid? :v

I don't see how a transgendered character as a romance would be a problem. Transgendered or not, if, for example, a character says she's a woman and presents as a woman, then she's a woman, and would fill one of the female LI slots. Vice versa for a trans dude. Are there people who would complain? Sure, but there are gonna be people who complain about their available LI choices no matter what traits the writers give them.

Like DG has said, they're interested in providing options, not making sure everyone likes every option they have.

How do you know the number of people who would be interested in a trans romance? How would you even know the character was trans unless they trusted you enough to tell you?

I think it would be AMAZING if one of our companions in a Dragon Age game ended up being trans, but, as the PC, you wouldn't even know until/unless they chose to trust you with that information after you formed a close friendship with them.

Be a little hard for Vivienne/Dorian to make sense considering Dorian is only into men. Unless... :o

So can we? In DA2 you couldn`t really. It would be nice if it was like Origins and you could make up your mind and choose one eventually when confronted.

Lol @ Cupid. I'd like to play Cupid and hook Cass and IB up should I not romance her.

Thinking about it ... I have a feeling I'd be jealous, I remember being jealous of Garrus and Tali in my Liara romance play through.

I think Vivienne may be too high maintenance for Varric plus if he's still fondling his crossbow I doubt he's on the market for anyone. Nah Vivienne and Dorian will end up having to share Iron Bull

Even though you couldn't in DA2,companions were jealous of each other.

I was going to say that the ******** could be of epic proportions if people find out halfway the romance arc that their beatiful girlfriend was trans, but who knows, maybe people surprise me and maybe most are fine with it

That would make for an interesting couple xD

I remember finding out about those two in a Liara playthrough then panicked during my Tali playthrough when I saw she was in the main battery with Garrus. My Shepard had never ran so fast before in their life xD

There's little problem with that scenario. IRL there are surgeries and hormone replacement therapies. Does DA universe have magical equivalent of it?

I dunno.  I would personally want to know at the beginning of the romance whether someone was transgender or not.  I don't think having that sprung on you during the last lap would go over particularly well in game or in RL.  My reaction to this (and I think a lot of people's reaction to this) would be anger.

I also don't know the precise number of people directly interested in a trans romance, but I don't think assuming it's significantly smaller than the number interested in straight and gay romances is unreasonable.

Forgot he was. Had Dorian been bi maybe Josephine, Viv, Dorian and the inq could have hooked up, wink

Edit, added Josephine
