I wanted Sera. But now I've got to create a strong, tall, lesbian woman who don't need no man.
I don't know how I get to sleep some nights.

All hail ALF! I mean MELF AND FELF *cries*
Heh, we're not the only ones. There are enough people here who don't like playing the opposite gender.
I dont like to do it personally. I feel like i cant connect with the character as well.
Also romancing a female character when im playing as a female always makes me feel like a scumbag.
Makes me feel like im one of those guys who picked Liara for femshep in ME1 just to see the "hot girl on girl action!"
I don't really mind if Cassandra is a bisexual or a straight option, but I can see why other people would prefer a non-companion romance candidate to be the female bisexual option.

Same
I'm going to be playing every race/gender combination anyway, provided the game is good enough to warrant multiple playthroughs. I think it's a good thing to experiment with (and one of the reasons I would guess race-gating was added in the first place,) especially if you're going to be playing the game many times anyway. Creating the same identikit character type time and time again makes little sense to me in a game that encourages so much exploration. So do your preferred playthrough/s first, but after that? What's the harm in trying something a little bit different? Explore! You may just find that you enjoy it. ![]()
Hit the nail on the head, even if unintentionally. People are asking for what they specifically want. "Fairness" isn't anybodies primary concern. If the LIs were distributed evenly like candy (even though they likely won't be, according to DG) people would still be upset that their preferred LI isn't available to the race/gender they want to play as.
This is true, everyone is more and less selfish when it goes to LI's ^^; Things the to be well as long as your favorites aren't taken away from you, I'm guilty of this as well. I'd still like even distribution since to me fairness makes it more bearable instead of thinking: I have only 1 option and that race+gender combo has 4! ^^; I guess it makes harder to be envious when there is even distribution.
I really hope there are 8. I'm hoping that the new way they are dealing with some conversations that would previously had some kind of cinematics will have freed up resources to create more companion and story development interactions.
I'll play all races, just always as a female Inquisitor.
I've liked the previous 2 dragon age games enough to end up getting round to doing a female protagonist. I do find they tend to be lesbian given my own attraction to women and given my already strong fondness for Sera who will be denied to my other protags, no doubt as long as Inquisition is a good experience i'll do so again.

I only want to play gay dudes. A lot of people have a specific gender/sexuality combination they want to play.
And some of us don't even get a sexuality combination. While everyone else is bickering over 'they couldn't get their character because they are straight, gay,bi', there're a-sexual people like me whose characters get rejected in game..because we don't like smexytime.

Yeah same.
But who knows though, if Cass is straight and at the same time makes me go 'ohgodwhyareyousoamazingimustromanceyou' i might do an melf (damn you Josh
) to romance her.
What does an asexual want from in-game romances anyway?

Love and cuddles!

Is that what it is? Surely you could just pretend that no... insertion occurs during the rolly-round bits.

Companionship.

Something romantic that doesn't involve sex. (i think?)
It would be interesting if there was an asexual companion though.

Yeah asexual people still appreciate the emotional closeness of a relationship afaik.

How about, not having the romance automatically ended because you don't like smexytime?Having an alternate scene that does not show or imply sex. I'll settle for not having romance cancelled or blocked off because of no smexytime.
