It won't even register to Bull. He'll declare his love, and then 5 minutes later, you'll see him banging Dagna in the other room.
No stahp I loved Dagna in DAO she was so cute and innocent and ambitious! Stop tainting her memory!

They've never confirmed or denied it. There aren't any examples known.
Okay thanks.
Well, what I would mostly like to avoid is a situation where he just naturally wants to be monogamous once he decides he loves you, because that's not realistic at all (imo) for someone from a culture that has no concept of monogamous relationships. I think they could either have him as a non-monogamous relationship, or you have the option to tell him what you want from him and he can react however his writer felt was right for him.
How hard is it to understand monogamy? Just don't bang anyone else but me :v
I just hope he'll react differently if we pursue the romance than Zev or Morrigan.
What about a qunari inquisitor, will he or she understand romance differently than other races? Iirc Iron Bull is a veteran of a merc company so he is used to non qunari romance but what about the inquisitor??
I don't think there are cross breeds of any of the races
No, Adaar is born outside of the Qun.

[WISTFUL SIGH] This would be an almost perfect set up for an asexual Inquisitor, but that's never going to happen.
Not like I'm using this as some sort of concrete proof or anything, but I think this is worth noting.

In the Qun they see love and sex as being totally separate, so it stands to reason that would work quite well if you didn't also want the other party to be asexual.
I agree it probably wont happen, though. ![]()

I would definitely be curious to see how it was handled... On the one hand, there are players that have expressed interest in the possibility of a non-monogamous relationship in the game... but, there's also a whole lot of players that wouldn't see it as a 'real' romance, or just wouldn't find it as satisfying a romance arc. As far as an open relationship being in-character for him or not... hard to say. I don't know enough about Qunari lore to say whether the concept of monogamy would really be that alien to him, especially when he's spent so much time outside of the qun. And him being promiscuous doesn't mean much. I know plenty of people in real life who are totally monogamous while in a relationship, but while they're single they... like to have their fun, so to speak.
I'm kind of thinking my definition of 'open' went over some people's heads... Or it's been ignored. Perhaps that's for the best,

Spoiler
Cullen also refers to the Qunari as heathens in DA2. Definitely worth noting. Cullen has had previous attraction to elves and humans, so those are pretty safe, however.

Well he may become infatuated with a dwarven inquiz after seeing them in action, change his views and whatnot.

To be fair, I think part of Cullen's story is that he's supposed to have grown alot from DA:Origins to where he is in Dragon Age: Inquisition, so I doubt he'll have the same stance.

I can imagine Cullen and Varric discussing how much Orzammar dwarves suck.

He says some pretty unpleasant things about Qunari, too. But let's not even get started on mages. Cullen has a lot of pent up aggression, I think. lol

This. Seeing as his views on mages and templars have changed I don't see why the same wouldn't go for other races. Especially since he will have to deal with them in the Inquisition.

I've actually spoken with other asexuals who've done something like this, where the sexual partner of the relationship found sexual satisfaction elsewhere. Your post just reminded me of that. But it won't happen unless the Bull is ungated, because the story reason of him being reasonably sure he won't break someone flies out the window.

Hmm well f**k you too Cullen ![]()
I doubt/hope he'll still have all those pent up aggressions but I couldn't pass up the chance to write that ![]()

Yeah... even by the end of DA2, Cullen has changed a lot from that dude in the bubble. And it's been at least three years since then, and he seems to be all about shifting his ideology. I don't think we can fairly judge him based on the person he was before.

I will romance him with a dwarf and change his mind!!!!!

The Qun doesn't have romantic relationships at all. They reproduce via breeding programs and their children are raised by caretakers in groups. They don't have a concept of monogamy or family units as a culture. I'm sure Iron Bull knows about monogamy, but the question is why it would be natural to him when it's not a part of the culture he grew up with and still considers himself a part of. I can see him maybe doing it if the Inquisitor asks, but I just think it would be odd if that was his default preference and was never addressed.

Also given this:
"I have seen both good and evil come from magic," Cullen stated, staring into the Inquisitor’s eyes. "There was a time I sympathized with mages. And there was a time I loathed them. In Kirkwall, I ignored rumors and my own instinct, foolishly thinking my cause was just, that my superior was above such influences."
"And what of the present?" The Inquisitor asked. "What do you have to say now?"
The templar chuckled, a sigh soon following. “Now… Now, I’m certain that I don’t know half as much as I did. Likely nothing at all.” He paused to smile. “Perhaps that’s progress in of itself.”
Accurate fan blurb is accurate.
Yeah not seeing that.
Especially not since the whole heretics is most likely chantry dogma.

I like how everyone hopes the whole group is enlightened and wants to hold hands.

By that token, wouldn't a romance based on emotion be a novel concept to him as well? Hmmmm.....
And before anyone yells at me, I'm not saying this doesn't make him an LI!
I'm just really curious now how his story will get told, especially if he's a romance...
