I don't want them to be insane either. But I do want philosophical and personal conflict.
If not that, I'll probably end up conflicting with some myself anyways.
Conflict is good. I like conflict. I've just had my fill of crazy. That's all.

Agreed, though she was, as Aveline so gracefully puts it, a ******
I prefer slattern myself.
That's perspective but yeah, I think the LIs of DAI are 10x better than DA2's.
I liked the romances in DA2, don't get me wrong. I would just like those in DAI to do a better job keeping their crap together.
If we have to play therapist to our LIs I expect them to play therapist to us as well, I am personally tired of us having to listen to everything bothering our LI and helping them through it but they won't return the favor for us. So hopefully we get some concerned dialog from our LIs (and companions we are friendly with) ![]()
To get back on romance, I do hope the LI's in DAI have fewer issues than the ones in DA2. I mean, of the four non DLC characters, Isabella was the sanest.
I have a feeling our LI's will be more sane this time around, if for any reason that it seems impossible to top DA2 in that department. Of the already confirmed LI's, I'm pretty hopeful about it.

Yes.
I'm so tired of being a damn therapist. Can't the PC mention his/her terrible life and the LI comfort them for a change? Without pulling the conversation back to them? All that remains was such a nice change.

Agreed. I don't mind getting all sentimental about our pasts, but I'd really prefer the romance arc not to revolve around fixing them with our magical luv powers.
XD renedouche is a grade A troll so probably.
"Make out, get it over with and get back to work. This isn't an Asari soap opera."
My problem with the DA2 LIs that I had to choose from (Anders and Fenris) was that they were pretty immature. I mean, I do like Anders. I really do. But a lot of his banter with Fenris (also Merrill) was just terrible. I liked him when he was making fun of Sebastian for putting the maker's wife's head between his legs every morning. Not so much when he was basically having the equivalent of "I'M NOT TOUCHING YOU NAH NAH" bullshit with Fenris. I think the only LI that seems like this in DA:I is maybe Sera, though, so it's probably not going to be relevant to me.

I'm not sure we ended up fixing anyone with our love power. I guess we got Isabella to be less selfish, in that now she will take a burning orphan with her as she flees the orphanage, but otherwise?

For me, I don't care for them making up, since I already have solid opinions on Cerberus. I'm saying something I don't want to say by putting "peace" as a priority.

You could convince Merrill that fixing the Eluvian was a bad idea...after it destroyed her life. On a more positive note, you could get Fenris to be just a bit less angry.

Well, I tried with Anders. Tried with Merrill. Never tried with Fenris, but if I tried I probably would have failed as well. At least Isabela embraces and accepts her selfishness, lol. xP

There was also the abuse. I got maybe 2 conversations in with Anders and just had to slam down on the "ABORT!" button. And I honestly thought Fenris was a lot like Jack - someone who endured a lot of abuse, including sexual abuse, for whom the idea of "fixing" by being in a romantic relationship just made me incredibly uncomfortable (e.g. with teaching him to read being tied to a flirt).

Fenris actually has a lot in common with Jack, but I never actually thought about it before. That's an interesting point.

ARRGH! First Sera and now Josephine/scribbles. I can't decide who my qunari warrior chick, who will be my first playthrough, will romance.
I find Anders more attractive than Fenris, but I find Fenris slightly more tolerable than Anders. Help! (Me playing DA2)

I'm going with Sera first, but I definitely plan on a playthrough for the lovely Scribbles. Whose nickname is now more ingrained in my mind than her real name.

That strikes me as a nice problem to have. You can pick when you play the game and see them in action.

Fenris is like the only one that works. Merrill's is too damn late, Isabela's has limited effectiveness and Anders do I have to say anything other than Anders?

I'd say go with Josephine though that could be her lovely eyes hypnotizing me into saying that
(that and we know she isn't race gated)

I'm sorry. There's no help for you.
It's...incurable.

I haven't romanced either, but I have in on good authority that one hits you in the feels harder than the other.

Hmm... I wonder which one that would be.
