I'm curious who the remaining 3 romance options are, I read the game will have 8 options and they will all either be companions and advisers, so far 5 have been announced, so who do we think the other 3 are? The only one I'm like 99% sure will be is Vivienne and I think she will be Bi.

I believe this can fit into the other romance thread, but anyway I want to romance Vivienne, but if she's not available then Josephine, on my first playthrough.

Seeing as straight females and gay men have yet to have their second choices revealed, I'm inclined to think the remaining LIs are all male. I might've considered Vivienne if not for the race-gating companions whom I suspect will complement each other (and I disagree on the logic used to apply it to her character). So...

 

Blackwell- bi ungated 

Iron Bull- bi (dwarves are race-gated)

Varric - straight (qunari are race-gated)

 

Varric could be bi but I figured he could be the one companion romance exclusive to straight females. I figure the possible nature of Blackwall's story would be something available to most for maximum fan tears.

The simple fact that devs have made Cullen (a single most frightening character I found in DAO and in DA2) into a romance option has drained any want on my part to participate in it. Not ranting on the developers here, they can write who and whatever they see fit, or the people who do like him - his character just scares the hell out of me.

 

In other words - no, not going to romance anyone. I think my Inquisitor will manage saving the world on her own. And she'll look glorious while doing so

It seemed like your point was "There's a maximum to how many women Bioware can write lately", and I was saying that they've been keeping the party count down since the Baldur's Gate days, so I don't really see what, if any issue there is. 

 

And you have an odd way of numbering who counts as a written female character in a game. Why aren't women from the previous entry included?

 

Super late answer because I went to sleep.

 

I wasn't saying it was a maximum, just pointing out that they never go above that and that it's not limited to the DA series. If the party has more than 6 followers, there is only 3 women (or less). ME2 could be considered an exception though.

 

Women from previous entry aren't counted because they were not designed for that game.

We've yet to know how many major female NPCs will be in the game.   Hell, I say it's even odds that the main antagonist is a woman.
