I wouldn't be surprised if it comes up in a piece DLC. Bioware DLC tends to contain a lot of tongue in cheek self references and nods to the fanbase.

It will take awhile for me to start calling her Josephine rather than Scribe girl in my head, just because the name stayed so long it stuck.

I hope you're right, though I don't see how it would work.

Wait... Has there been confirmation that there will be no reference to "Scribbles" in-game?  :(

Yes, unfortunately. I guess it was too late in the development cycle to put it in.

Let's take this to her thread so we aren't offtopic.

Like this:

DLC Character: Hello, Scribbles.

Inquisitor: Scribbles?

Josephine: An unfortunate childhood nickname.

Varric: Huh, why didn't I think of that?

Here's a question, romancers;

What characters (confirmed or not, no judgment!) do you want to romance and with what sort of PC? What do you think your character likes about the LI, and what will they maybe not like as much, if anything?

Varric with a female dwarf, probably a rogue.

I honestly haven't fleshed out much of a personality for this character yet.  My first character is always a dummy character that just says what I would say in that situation.  Once I know the game, I actually start making characters to roleplay so on that front...I suppose wit is the thing that character would like, and I'm honestly having trouble coming up with a major dislike.  Not being especially revealing maybe?

I think I put this in another thread, but I'd love to romance Solas with a dwarf (not sure about gender yet) because I think they'd have really interesting conversations. Since dwarves don't dream a dwarf inquisitor would probably really appreciate someone who could talk to them about what exactly the Fade is, without any preconceptions. I find the idea of Solas teaching the inquisitor about the Fade and his/her new powers rather adorable.

I really hope that means we'll know all the LIs by tomorrow. That's my best outcome.

Then everyone should have some time to get used to their choices before release.

Only Blackwall got a "soon", all the other characters that people asked if they were romanceable got a "not going to comment" or a "none-answer".

I like it. Though I'd take out the unfortunate part and add this.

Varric: Nah, I don't steal other people's work.

Female Dwarf with Iron Bull (I know its impossible but its what I want) she'd like the rowdy fun loving side to him what she may not like about him hmmmmm maybe the Qun thing but only if he tries to push it on her since she feels 'ehhhhhhhh' about all religion in general.

Male qunari with Dorian, he'd like that Dorian is trying to show a better side to his country and doesn't seem to care for the Tenvinter game also my qunari finds him highly physically attractive x3. Not sure what he wouldn't like about Dorian though.

For two years or more I'd had my heart set on my first inquisitor being a male Dalish rogue and falling in love with Cullen, so it's been pretty hard giving that up! But here's what I got so far:

Male Dalish rogue (hopefully) romancing Blackwall. Blackwall's the best stand-in for Cullen, as he's a pretty noble, older human warrior type. I've got a shem-hating (really shem-fearing) Dalish on my hands, and want to weave a sort of West Side Story, falling in love with the wrong guy, kinda romance.

Male Dalish mage (hopefully) romancing Iron Bull; this is a very carefree, happy-go-lucky character who will find Bull hilarious but at the same time be super intrigued by his connection to the Qun. He won't like Bull's promiscuity, if that's a thing.

Female human warrior romancing Sera; she'll fall in love with her without realizing it and sort of feel protective of her, which Sera would probably hate. She'll find Sera's snarky and ribald humor slightly off-putting.

Female dwarven rogue romancing Josephine; this one's still forming in my head; I think my inquisitor will be charmed by her elegance ^^

For my first run I'm going to make a slightly immature, irresponsible male, human mage and I'll romance Dorian. I see him as not having many strong opinions starting out and not much interest in leadership. I don't see him as being an especially good leader as a way to write off first run mistakes. He'll see the fade-hand as a burden as a loss of freedom, as he's more of a party boy that doesn't want to be tied down with anything serious. He'll be impressed by Dorian's flash and magister status, but sometimes think his ambitions are a drag. I see him coming to appreciate that as time goes on and becoming more attached to their mission. Dorian is a good influence!

For the second run I'm going to be an elven, male archer and I see him as being a lot more clever and invested in learning about the world. He's a skeptic in all things and believes his people waste time on bitterness and don't do enough to learn the truth about historical issues. He sees the fade-hand as gaining freedom, since he's no longer tied down to the expectations of his clan and he's free to travel the world with the power to investigate whatever he sees fit. He'll be extremely interested in Solas's abilities and his drive to learn about history with an open mind. I don't know what they'll clash on yet, if anything.

I would avoid reading too far into that. I highly doubt that Mike would purposefully give out hints like that.

I know my first character is going to be a male Dalish mage and that he's going to be gay. That's really about it; in my mind my character is distinctly...well, Dalish. He's gonna have a bit of the elven superiority/persecution complex goin on at least at the beginning of the game. In the even that Solas is an LI he'd have a distinct advantage over the other characters in that sense, but I'll let it play out organically.

In the even that there's more than one male character that I want to romance my next playthrough will be a human male of some sort and I might design that character around how I want the romance to play out.

At some point I'm definitely romancing Sera with a sassy lady-kossith.

I think she might actually consider it unfortunate; scribbling implies messy, in-precise, sloppy.

That's true.

I was just thinking about them not putting that because it being a well-liked nickname by fans and staff.

I like the meta involved in your example though. Childhood = game development. ^_^

We should take this to the Josephine thread though.

Hmmm I want to play a human mage - super diplomatic, romance Varric (even though he'll probably be race-gated but we are just playing this for fun).. She'll love his humor and he'll love her for her dedication to helping others! If not, I'll sub her for dwarf rogue, and my mage can be with Cullen

Human male + Cassandra

Elf male + Josephine

Human female + Cullen

Elf female  + Solas (or maybe Blackwall)

Female Qunari + Iron Bull

Male Qunari + Vivienne (we both have horns!)

But the only ones I'll probably get to are human male and elf female.

I'd like to know the third male LI.

We have Cass, Josephine, and Sera. That's two for straight males and two for gay females.

What about us straight females and gay males? We just have Cullen and Dorian. Straight females don't even have an actual follower.

It was Mark Darrah who said that and he didn't seem to sass in his answers (unlike Mike).

Dalish or Vashoth mage with Cassandra

To begin, he loves human women. He also loves Cassandra's passionate and honorable personality, as well as her subtle beauty.

He might not like her potentially ignorant views on apostates, but he'll understand why she might still have those views.

The only real concrete character I have is Ashtal Adaar, who's a direct qunari archer whom I'm pointing at Cullen. She'd like his practical nature, although she tends towards underhanded means herself. If Cullen is awkward in romance and shuffling around a topic, Ashtal will simply get to the point. her parents have instilled in her an appreciation of wanting something and being able to do something about it. There's some balance there.

I do want to craft a dwarf for Dorian, though. I am... a little hyper-focused on the dwarves in the Tevinter Imperium, and really want to hear everything Dorian has to say about them. Alas, I'll need to interact more with Dorian to tell what my plucky, honorable dwarf will think of him.

(I have a half-baked idea of an asexual female qunari mage for the Iron Bull, but I won't let myself think about her too much until I know what my options are there. Please just let me pretend, Bioware. Please.)

I'll eventually get around to every LI. I just need to see a bit more of them before I can figure out who I want to craft, what will make the most interesting stories.
