To be honest, though, I have no idea who the LI will be between the three now. I think Vivienne is in.

My character is also going to be a Qunari Mage. I was going to do it with my Dwarf on my 2nd playthrough for the hilarity, but I might just do it with my Qunari. So then I just have my Dwarf romance Cassandra. I now have a funny image in my mind of a Dwarf Inquisitor and Cassandra because of this

The only way I'd be alright with a political marriage to Celene is if the dialogue made it clear that it was just for the solidification of power and you could both do your own thing otherwise. I don't think it would be that big of a deal if you didn't expect more from it. Celene wanted a political marriage with Cailan, so I'm not sure she would be against it if she could continue her thing with Briala, or whoever else. 

 

It's almost certainly not going to happen, though. I'm pretty sure Gaider said no political marriages in this game on Tumblr.

So, it seems like everyone has kind of written off Blackwall. Why is that? Why does everyone seem to think he's the least likely of the remaining possible LIs? It seems like everyone I see is saying Vivienne and either Varric or Solas now. It seemed more even between the three before the IB release.

This is my personal opinion the subject at this point.  I'm not trying to state I'm right by any stretch.  I'm also still wish those that have their favorite potential LI status in the air the best of luck.  

 

When it comes to my views on Blackwall--He's a Warden nearing towards his Calling.  Now, I'm very well aware a tragic romance shouldn't dismissed out of hand, due to previous characters in BW games.   I'm not trying to do that here.  However, he seems like a very honorable sort.  While I think the player might get some flirts with him, I think he'll reject the player.  The reason why I think so is because he strikes me as the type that would rather die than break his closest friend's heart.  I think in some ways it might play out like the Samara "nearmance" in ME2.

It happens with Varric, he has that effect on people, lol.

Makes sense xd. They are my favorite race. The new designs the Qunari automatically makes them my 2nd favorite race now.

I still think Blackwall is possible. I honestly don't think Varric will be a LI, but I don't have any evidence for it besides a gut feeling.

Edit: then again, I thought IB would be a fling and we'd have Solas and Blackwall as bi. Lol.

No clue is if the race-gated options are the unknown ones, or one/both of the confirmed LIs.

Because despite my best efforts, if Blackwall is a LI I'll end up romancing him even if I know it's a bad idea. And I'll adore him. and then I'll cry like a baby.

I agree with all those as reasons, I'm just having a hard time seeing any of the last few filling the role of a bi, gated LI, like I expected. I'm still really surprised that not only IB isn't gated, but it was an originally planned three before they avoided gating him.

 

Blackwall has "tragic romance" written all over him. Varric is a "Carth Syndrome" candidate, for sure. Both of these are romances people keep complaining about, especially male potential romances. At the same time, though, WE KEEP GETTING THEM. lol

 

But Solas doesn't seem to have any reason to be gated, so I don't know why it would be him.

 

So confusing! (And not trying to offend anyone, I'm saying all our favorite choices are equally likely in their unlikeliness!)

I'm hoping that Blackwall or varric (or both) being Bi Li, I don't care if they are race gated. But thinking logically, we'll probably end with Vivienne (to balance genders) and Solas (Bioware have an elf fetish). At least I have Iron bull (he was my second choice besides blackwall) and dorian.

Rather than think of it as "Equally likely in their unlikeliness," I just think of it as, "They are equally looking likely in their own way." For me at least, it's a more positive way to look at things.

 

I've hit the point where I refuse to spend whatever length of time before the last reveals stressing and thinking the worst.  It's too hot outside lately and I'd rather cheer everyone on than get too down about the matter.       Besides, I think there is a good chance Vivienne is a LI and race gated due to some story reasons.  However, I do think she's bisexual.

I look at it this way, we have 2 left which are more than likely the two race gated romances, cause as I have said before I think the gender gated romances won't be race gated cause they are already restricted, we now have 2 Bi romances that are not race gated. Bioware confirmed all romances will be companions and advisers so lets look at them.

 

3 advisers

 

Cullen (female only/gender gated)

 

Josephine (Bi/confirmed not to be race gated)

 

Leliana (not a romance because of her being a former companion and romance)

 

 

9 Companions

 

The 3 I think are not Romance options

 

Blackwall (not a romance cause of him being a Grey Warden near the time of his calling, mostly my opinion)

 

Solas (Doesn't come across as the romance type, plus he said he doesn't like being seen as just an elf so that marks out his chances of being a race gated bi romance)

 

Cole (confirmed not to be a romance I think)

 

 

The Ones Confirmed

 

Cassandra (Male Only/ Gender Gated)

 

Dorian (Male Only/Gender Gated)

 

Iron Bull (Bi/ Not Race Gated)

 

Sera (Female Only/ Gender Gated)

 

 

So with that I think the last two romances are......

 

Varric- I mostly want this just for the Varric fan base, I don't know about his preferences but Varric came across to me as a guy who prefers women only but idk, I think he will be race gated to dwarfs though as he said he doesn't find humans attractive.

 

Vivienne- She is the last female in the group and I believe everyone is expecting the last two to be 1 male and 1 female so with what we know about her character I think she will be bi and be humans only. 

 

 

This is all my opinion based on what I know, have seen and read from others.

Folks have been asking for a Qunari romance for a few years now. A lot of people thought it was possible, actually.  It was the lack of race-gating many of us are still pleasantly surprised at.  I personally think he's got a lot character to his looks.  You don't have to find him attractive, but calling him a monster is a little much.

Bioware can do whatever they want with their characters so I don't see the existence of Bianca as having any impact on Varric being, or not being, a romance option. I wouldn't be surprised which ever way it goes. However, I did get the impression back when DA:2 first came out that there were a number of people interested in romancing him, and seeing as he's already a popular enough character to earn the dubious honor as the only returning companion in the DA series, it stands to reason that the Devs might have taken note of people's interest. 

 

It certainly wouldn't be the first time they did something for their fans.
