'Freedom of speech' literally only means you can't be arrested for saying crap. Doesn't mean people won't yell at you for it.
It also means that you don't have to give a furry rats ass about the loud mouth idiots doing the yelling.

There was an addage that went something like "it takes 2 to tango"So when it comes down to the right of one individual to not "be offended" and the right of the apparent offendee to speak their mind is one more important than the other or are they both the same?
You have a right to speak your mind: in the West it is unconstitutional for the government to censor your speech (though there is a fine line with hate speech). You are not restricted in saying offensive things - and we are not restricted in excluding you, mocking you, or otherwise making you feel the full brunt of our dissaproval for you saying them.
The right to say something is not the right to be free from the consequence of saying it.
I think there's more to the demo than what we saw
Cameron Lee interview:

That's great, the more branching the better, i can't wait to discover the most effective and of course the most catastrophic outcome possible.
Honestly I wasn't even aware that there was some quota to fill until I checked out these boards. That has passed me by all the time I've played these games. Thankfully they aren't going that dreadful lets make most of our LI's bi route that they went in DA2. Like the game was awful anyway but this didn't help IMO. I'd much rather Bioware decide who is what in regards to sexuality, not the players, makes the characters feel more real that way I believe.
A dev did say something to the effect of "oh, we can't do that, it would totally screw gay dwarves over," which would indicate that they are indeed mindful of spreading romance choices to various players in DA:I.
Oh, yes, bisexual characters are so unbelievably dreadful, awful, and unrealistic, aren't they?

Making nearly every LI bisexual is freakin' fan service. Bioware should have the only say on who is what, not the players. Thankfully this is the reality we have now and I stand by my viewpoint, for me it makes the characters feel more believable.
And I'm hardly down on the LGBT gamer, I am one so yeah.
Great interview, very intriguing. Okay, not a romance-related question, but I need to ask- has anything been revealed re: world travel? Will it be a continuous open world experience, a la a Bethesda game, or will it be map style with named destinations similar to previous DA titles?

I'm sorry, did the fans make DA2, or did BIoWare?
They *chose* to make every LI, except Sebastian, bisexual.

It's map style, but the new areas are freakin' huge. One of the ones they've shown off is bigger than the entire exporable area of DAO.

Thanks for the reply, Andraste_Reborn. What you're saying has me even more excited!

at least they say this to us, but I'm still sceptical with the actual length, although I believe them that the areas are bigger than before.
Approx. 10 minutes until the next BioWare panel.

oh god, hopefully we'll get new information about the remaining romances >.< *keeps her fingers crossed*

Cute. DA2 Li system was terribad, that game was a mess for many many reasons. Going back to the system they had in DAO which they are using now, far superior.
We aren't gonna agree on this sooooooo I'm willing to shut up. ![]()

I'm a bit torn. I agree the current way makes the characters more believeable, but I quite liked DA2 just on gaming terms (not necessarily storytelling terms). I don't think it was fan service-y or anything. I just liked that you didn't have to put too much thought into it. You just picked whatever character you liked and moved on.
DA2 > DAO in the Romance department.
in terms of fairness, yes. But the actual conversations are better in DAO. You could talk to your LI more often and the conversations were longer and seemed not as scripted as in DA2.
Same here. I didn't think making all the romances bi was fan-service at all. But I still like the way they are doing it now in DA:I, especially because of all the different options to choose from now. ![]()
Yup. Totally gone. Is someone gonna make another, or should we just stick to the Twitter thread?
DA2 > DAO in the Romance department.
Yep, DA2 was much better in this regard imo. Though the fact i just adored everything about Issy romance may mean my opinion isn't completely objective.
I prefer everyone being available to everyone. Just once, I'd like the no-nonsense, job focused LI to be available to me as a female.
