Interesting seeing the writers of the characters. Based on that I'd still be leaning towards Solas and Viv.

 

It doesn't mean much really. In fact, if you look at previous games you get something different. Gaider's characters are almost always romances unless they are "things" (like HK or Shale).

 

Patrick wrote 2 romances in ME2 and ME3 (Jack, Tali and Traynor), it doesn't mean he wrote that many in DAI, but he seems to be able to handle more than one romance per game. This mean he could handle Iron Bull and Solas romance. Sheryl Chee has written one romances in both previous DA games, she only wrote Blackwall here, so he could be one as well.

 

This would mean using that has frivolous indication that the last two are Solas and Blackwall. I personally wouldn't take number of characters or who wrote what has an indicative of anything.

I wonder if they're considering lifting the remaining gates at all. If Iron Bull was only a time constraint issue, I wonder if the others are set or if they're still questionable. I assume 2 is the easiest to have with balance, though, so maybe not.

I'm worried that the "no official plans" on releasing remaining romances means that we will just have to wait until someone slips up or feels sorry for us

I don't think there are any official plans, but that doesn't mean we won't get to it.

Actually couldn't an already confirmed LI be race gated?  I don't recall anyone in Bioware saying any of the confirmed Love Interests are confirmed available to all races other than Iron Bull.  Like say for example,  Cullen could be available to every race but dwarves while Varric is limited to only dwarves.

I don't think there are any official plans, but that doesn't mean we won't get to it. 

Ugh.  Same here.  This is so frustrating.  I'd feel better if I knew they were waiting to release the info because of some actual future plan to do so, but knowing they're apparently just sitting on that info for sh!ts and giggles gets on my nerves.  

 

I know, I know, the devs owe us nothing, and I'm sounding ungrateful for the info they've given us so far, but if there's no actual reason for them not to release who the romances are then why don't they?  I think most people on the forums, even those not interested in romances, would prefer if we could all react however we're going to react and move on already.

It could be. The thing is what was the priority: a) not restricting an LI too much (so none get to be race-gated and gender-gated) or b ) race-gate the ones with "less bad" story-reasons. 

 

I hope it's b ), tbh. Personally, I'd rather have Cullen race-gated and Solas, than Cullen available to every race and Varric. Personal preference and heavy skepticism about the dwarves-fade argument 

 

edit: though I'm not sure about a possible reason to race-gate Cullen that is better than the dwarves-fade one
