I'd like Vivienne to be straight for both demographic purposes and story purposes, I'd like somebody major to be depicted within Orlais and not swing both ways. Solas should be bisexual though in my opinion, it'd allow more players to actually romance an elven male for this game.

Has anyone tried just asking someone if the straight/gay options could be race gated? Like, David Hulegaard or someone that would probably have all the information they're cleared to release?
I guess that doesn't tell us much, though. A lot of people are still guessing one or both of the remaining are straight...
Yeah, that would really, really annoy me.

I tried asking Allan but he wouldn't answer

I've got a feeling that Varric is still Bianca gated, and that the remaing two are Solas and Viv. And I suspect Viv's romance will end with her leaving the Inquisitor to continue pursuing her own goals. She just doesn't seem the type to abandon her ambition because someone made her heart flutter or knees weak.

Josephine confirmed by Patrick to be adorable.

Well, Cassandra is the Hero of Orlais and she is straight.

We haven't even seen a lot of Orlesian characters that "swing both ways". Leliana isn't even really Orlesian, she's a Ferelden who moved there. That leaves Marjolaine, a bard who never even showed any actual, emotional attachment to anyone, so who knows what sexuality she really was. Who else?

Bioware made pretty big waves by announcing Sera and Dorian as gay only romances, I highly doubt they would kill that momentum by putting race restrictions on them

Honestly Cullen being gated cause he's not physically attracted to the Qunari and Dwarf? Fine. I'm not happy about it but i can get it. (And seriously if they do that next game can the f/m exclusive option not be a non-companion and restricted? Plzthx)
But if they try to make it about religion I just...that has so many holes in it.

But I recall them saying player races aren't much of a concern to them

Well, Cassandra is the Hero of Orlais and she is straight.
She's mainly associated with Nevarra though so I don't class her. Seeing as Vivienne is actually Orlesian though, I really hope she ends up being straight.

Would that make her more "believable"?

Vivienne might not truly be Orlesian either

I don't really like this attitude, because it basically implies the representation of the bisexual characters is less important and, therefore, it doesn't matter if they're gated and less available.
But Bioware didn't make a big deal of their gay characters, anyway. Outside press mostly did that themselves.

Well, technically Cassandra is mainly associated with the Chantry.

does it matter at this point since both Bi options have been confirmed not be gated at all?

I tend to look at is as- placing double restrictions on gay or straight LIs would be needlessly excessive.

Honestly, it doesn't make any difference to me. All that will really effect me is if one of the characters I like is gated against a race I wanted to romance them with. It wont matter to me if it's a bi or gay character. I can't really get invested, otherwise. I doubt anyone I'd want to romance would be gated against both humans and elves, so I'm not very stressed about them at all. I'm mostly just worried the last male slot will be straight.

It may be excessive to the players, but Bioware never denied that it wouldn't be the already confirmed romances

Its like I'm worried about Sera but I highly doubt she will be gated and will be available to any race but as long as I can romance her with a human I'll be fine
