As soon as there's more than 3 bisexuals in the same place, it's unrealistic. But dragons? That's fine
Don't forget elves. And dwarves. And giant, horned people.

It's just unrealistic, I know we don't have magic irl but I also cant imagine a society having 95% bisexual people when it's something genetic and not based upon your city. That's a different debate, though.
You know, I've read both Asunder and The Masked Empire, two books set inside Orlais, and I don't remember one Orlesian character in either book being portrayed as bisexual. So, again, I would like to hear some names. Who are all these Orlesian bisexuals?
There's 8 romances. We know 4 of them are NOT bisexual. Which would mean that, at most, 4/12 (1/3) of the people happen to be bisexual. This doesn't strike me as unrealistic, especially in a fictional setting.
Thank You!

And elves that can give birth to dwarves and giant horned people.
I'm fairly certain Celene was clearly stated as not heterosexual in 'The Masked Empire'.

She's a lesbian.

This.
If you're just going by the games, Leliana is bi as was Marjoline. Aveline is Orlesian by descent and she's straight. Isolde appears to be straight. The Cousland mother was straight, who mentions she was from Orlais originally. I could keep going.

I'm pretty sure lesbians exist.

How dare she not be?!
Maybe if I met an Orlesian in-game who hasn't dabbled in both genders I won't assume literally everyone there is bisexual.
Let's say that you could name a few bisexual Orlesians; saying that the sexual orientation of one (or a few) individual(s) is representative of a nation's population is a tad of a stretch, no?
I wonder if a Fem Inquisitor can hit on Celene if she sides with her lol
Even in the case that most people in Orlais were bisexual: so what? What's the big deal?
Either way, I'd like her to be straight personally just for reasons. People ask for characters to be anything but straight all the time with no consequence, all I'm saying is personally I'd like her to be hetero in the end.

I don't care if she is bisexual, I'd just personally find it a bit samey seeing as she happens to be Orlesian. That is all.
And it's not "samey" when the vast majority of Fereldens, Free Marchers, and yes even Orlesians (because you are wrong FYI) , are straight?
whatever happened to the human imagination? man it just breaks my heart.
This is why it's important for inclusion in the fantasy genre. People have gotten used to magical fireballs being thrown around, but as soon as LGBT people show up, suddenly it's unrealistic.
And if they are to be included, they need to be explained. In a thorough and satisfactory fashion.
I have had sexual relationships with men and women. If someone had to label me they could say I was "bi" but I don't think labels apply to the heart. If someone says they want someone to be straight or gay they don't need a reason, IMO. It's their game in their head and it's their desires for a game in their head.
@MCG "Just for reasons." Sure. Because that isn't code for "gay things are icky, and why should anyone like them." or anything like that.
You know why it's okay to ask for bisexual or gay characters? Well, straight men in particular have had the pick of the crop in video games for years. Not just box art and promotion and all of that, but including in games that have a romance arc. While BioWare is one of the few that does a companion system, no other company is willing to acknowledge the LGBT community's desires for romance. The wonderful thing is most straight men acknowledge this and have welcomed the LGBT community with open arms. They have no problems sharing a character if she's bi.
You want to romance someone as a straight man? Pick your game, including BioWare games.
I'm going to write a fantasy novel, its going to have magic, dragons and everything you can imagine in a fantasy setting oh and everyone is Bi sexual! everyone loves everyone!.....wait that's unrealistic..back to the drawing board.
And if they are to be included, they need to be explained. In a thorough and satisfactory fashion.
I look forward to the day when this is not the case. Where a character's race, gender or sexuality simply do not matter.
People ask for characters to be anything but straight all the time with no consequence
You mean people who have been historically disadvantaged (forgive me for this understatement) want equal representation?
Either way, I'd like her to be straight personally just for reasons. All I'm saying is personally I'd like her to be hetero in the end.
Which is fine, but you didn't have to incite people.
Isn't Viv confirmed to not be Orlesian but originally from the free marches? Or did I imagine that.
I wonder if a Fem Inquisitor can hit on Celene if she sides with her lol
what if celene is the flirt option!!
or the not companion/advisor romance
But...but...but my Elf doesn't want to be Dalish.
A self loathing Dalish?
