That he was open to all races after being told there would be companions that would be race gated. Lots of peeps like myself thought , for animation reasons. he'd be race-gated.

Although I'm hoping for Blackwall, I really have a feeling that the final male LI is gonna be Varric.  "Saved the best for last", as it were.

There's no way to have equal options and not have 1 more bisexual female and 1 more bisexual male.

I don't think that he said "equal" options.  I think he said "equitable" options.  There's a distinction there. 

 

I think that if some people had multiple choices and one group had one "choice" that is neither equal nor equitable.  I think that if everyone had multiple choices and some groups had one more choice, that is not equal, but is equitable. 

 

I might be splitting hairs though.  I think that the gist of what Gaider was getting at (I feel weird speaking for someone) was that everyone should have choices, but he doesn't feel bad if you don't get the choices that you want.  He already confirmed that some race/gender/sexuality combinations will get less options than others, so we know it won't be equal.

 

So to me, as long as everyone gets two choices, they've done what they set out to do and the rest is "bonus".  So, if the people who have been announced are not gated (that's an assumption, I know), then everyone gets two options and it doesn't matter how the last two shake out.

I would like to see Blackwall too, but I feel like he is being made into a duty before romance kinda guy. I would bet on Varric getting it too.

I don't think Vivienne is going to be a straight option hell I'm having doubts that she will be an option at all the way things are going because I know that one LI is outside of the Inquisition and its seems more likely that it will be a male LI that is going to be announced next IMHO.

Considering IB was originally going to be a race gated bi male I'd be even less surprised if the remaining characters are a gay and straight male and that there is race gating among these characters.

I didn't phrase that well sorry. I meant that there is one LI outside of the Inquisition and possibly the last one within the Companions will be male who could be racegated.

The Dev's have debunked that, the last two romance option will come from your companions.

 

 

You can flirt with people outside the inquisition though, not romance them.

Someone mentioned that there is at least ONE romance option outside of the main characters but don't quote me on it till there is an actual announcement.

It was a mistake. They meant at least one flirt option outside the main cast. The don't romances are from followers/advisors.

It was confirmed the 8 romances was within companions/advisers and the outside romance is just a flirt option.

Pretty sure that any hook ups outside of our companions/advisors, are just that hook ups and not full relationships.

 

Out of the two remaining LIs, one is pretty much guaranteed to be Vivienne, if they go with 2 out of the 3 remaining males, and don't make one of those two gay that would give straight females twice as many options as straight males, and that's just not going to happen.

 

It's Vivienne plus one other, and since that one is race gated the obvious choice is Varric.

FYI Asexuality (or nonsexuality) is the lack of sexual attraction to anyone.  So an asexual bisexuals/ lesbians is a bit of an oxymoron, odds are these people just weren’t that into you............

 
I have to jump in here because, gah, no. An asexual bisexual sounds like an oxymoron, but it basically gets the point across, and an asexual lesbian makes perfect sense. An asexual bisexual is a person who experiences romantic attraction to men and women but experiences no sexual attraction. An asexual lesbian is a woman who experiences romantic attraction towards other women but experiences no sexual attraction.
 
(It used to be that asexuals would use the term -romantic to describe who they were attracted to, but I think there was some controversy? I see it either way now, biromantic asexual or asexual bisexual.)

 

In Lady Insanity's interview David Gaider states you don't have to have sex in all romances! I know that will be really good news for some people.

 
That's actually really awesome. And I'm glad that there are some romances that require sex. Probably the Iron Bull. He likes sex--he wouldn't want a partner who didn't. Now I just have to figure out which ones are down for, uh, not having sex.

Really hoping the last 2 aren't both male, no matter what their sexuality is. I wasn't expecting an even gender split because i'm sure I read once that they were aiming for everyone to have choice rather than equality but 3 females and 5 males would be a bit ridiculous. A difference of 2, no matter what sexuality they are, is a bit much. In DA2 it was only the 1 extra male and tbh I don't really count him

If that s the case I believe that maybe are last two options might be bisexual but then again I could be wrong and that one is a straight option for female Inquisitors. But I was surprised Iron Bull wasn't racegated so if Varric is an LI I bet he will be.

It would really put my mind at ease if this time gay guys or lesbians got more options (provided that one group gets more options).  Straight guys usually get the most options.  Straight gals got the most in DA 2.  If it went to gay guys or lesbians this time, then I'd feel less that it's "always" straight people and more like "usually" straight people and I'd be okay with that.  Just as long as we all get our turn.
