I'm content with Cassandra and Josephine so I wouldn't mind if gay players got more options this time around but at the end of the day its Bioware's call so we'll see.

It would really put my mind at ease if this time gay guys or lesbians got more options (provided that one group gets more options). Straight guys usually get the most options. Straight gals got the most in DA 2. If it went to gay guys or lesbians this time, then I'd feel less that it's "always" straight people and more like "usually" straight people and I'd be okay with that. Just as long as we all get our turn.
I'm personally betting on the options being equal this time, but I too would prefer not to have a group get the "one extra" (though I honestly wouldn't have wanted Sebastian anyway).

I have to jump in here because, gah, no. An asexual bisexual sounds like an oxymoron, but it basically gets the point across, and an asexual lesbian makes perfect sense. An asexual bisexual is a person who experiences romantic attraction to men and women but experiences no sexual attraction. An asexual lesbian is a woman who experiences romantic attraction towards other women but experiences no sexual attraction.
(It used to be that asexuals would use the term -romantic to describe who they were attracted to, but I think there was some controversy? I see it either way now, biromantic asexual or asexual bisexual.)
That's actually really awesome. And I'm glad that there are some romances that require sex. Probably the Iron Bull. He likes sex--he wouldn't want a partner who didn't. Now I just have to figure out which ones are down for, uh, not having sex.
I tend to use Asexual but homoromantic/biromantic/hetero-romantic in such situations? Might seem less confusing? ![]()

If that s the case I believe that maybe are last two options might be bisexual but then again I could be wrong and that one is a straight option for female Inquisitors. But I was surprised Iron Bull wasn't racegated so if Varric is an LI I bet he will be.
If one of them is a straight male and the other is a bisexual woman, then that would be 3 options each for straight guys, straight gals, and lesbians and two options for gay guys. I'd not be thrilled, but I could live with it because I really like my options. But it would be a little disappointing to be singled out as the least options yet again.
Again, I think this is unlikely though because that would mean that gay dwarves would have had only one option prior to "fixing" IB. I suspect that they will both be bisexual (Vivienne and one of the guys). I guess it's also not inconceivable if it were two complementary guys (one who is only open for humans and qunari, say; and the other who is only open to dwarves and elves). Although that would make a 5/3 gender split and would ****** a bunch of people off.

Agreed. I would never have romanced him anyway because I have a hard time with really devout religion.

So, I'm just speculating here, but I've put it under a cut so as to save some eyes...
I'm gonna say Vivienne and Blackwall. Both bisexual, but with some race-gating. Don't know how that'll fit with Blackwall, but with Vivienne, it's probably going to be a status thing. A part of me is hoping, I guess.
No matter, though, for me, personally. I'm still in my corner doing this.

But if the two last options were both Bi then according to the math will make it equal all around.

Seb was such an annoying case, because I liked the voice a whole bunch, but everything else that came with it... bleh. He was like the anti Fenris (except for the fact that obviously Fenris's VA is just magic and I could listen to him read a phone book).

Lol, for me it wasn't the religion bit, since I myself am a devout Catholic, but I just was not a fan of his character. Although I will admit, Seb was certainly was easy on the eyes.

That cat is the cutest thing I've seen in a long time. It needs to be said, even if it isn't remotely related to the topic (at least in a way that wouldn't be a warning-point level bad joke).

God. Gideon Emery's voice....Jesus Christ. That voice absolutely sold me on Fenris. So freaking hot.

It's always confusing.
I do prefer to use -romantic, however, because people tend to latch on to the word 'sexual', like you're lying or something. [SIGH]
So I'm still feeling confident about Vivienne, and pretty good about Solas, too.

This is why I'm hoping for the last two to be men.
After Mass Effect, I'm okay with gay men and straight women having more options than gay women.

Mass Effect where the first two game gave zero options to gay men.
I know BioWare would disagree, but I think they sort of owe gay dudes an apology. Giving them 3-4 options works.

If it wasn't for the fact that the romance basically turned into a bit of a healing **** trope, there'd be no contest for DA2 romances, IMO. As it is, I wasn't a fan of the actual character content we got for our male LIs. Fenris was a victim of a lot of abuse and the way that helping was tied to the romance - like teaching him to read (!!) - made me a uncomfortable. But at least he wasn't a complete looney toon like Anders, who started off seemingly pretty sweet & charming and then went full on crazy.

I friend-manced him. Legacy has a reference to the marriage. I'm worried the writers are dead set on him being involved in Starkhaven politics and the chaste marriage will be undone.

Yeah, Gideon Emery's voice was a deciding factor why I had my player-character develop this close bond with Fenris (among other reasons, of course). I haven't used any DLC content, so Sebastian's foreign to me, but from what I've seen in the videos, he's... easy on the eyes and his voice was very nice...

I agree about Anders, but I thought the healing trope with Fenris was extremely well done. Short of Kaidan, by far my favorite Bioware romance.

Why must it come to "owing an apology" or "taking turns in the privilege box" ? Why can't everyone just have equal options ?
