I still really want Varric to be an LI, but they deserve points for making Iron Bull one.  My #1 annoyance would have been if all the romances were elves and humans.  

 

Agreed. I was very happy/proud about IB. Not that he wasn't totally expected, but still. Varric would be like, super points.

I'd much rather that too- the remaining two characters are bisexual, one female (Vivienne), one male (Solas, Blackwall, or Varric). The "inequality" starts with the racegating.

 

So long as my player character can romance Dorian as an elf, I'm pretty damn happy.

There are two unknowns.

There are two who are race gated, we don't know who.

Why does it help if Solas is gated?

 

My personal hope is for Vivienne to be bi and ungated, Varric to be bi and gated, and the other gate to fall on Cassandra or Cullen.

 

Because that means one of the gender exclusive LIs has a better chance of not being restricted. And for me at least Solas has a excellent story reason for being gated (the fade is very much part of who he is and not being with someone who can't experience it the same way strikes me as entirely justifiable.)

 

And honestly if the f/m exclusive option is both an advisor and race gated *sigh*

While that is possible, I find it highly unlikely that a LI will be gated by both race and gender.  Since Cassandra and CUllen are already straight, I don't think they will be further restricted.  And we already know Josephine is romanceable by all.  This leads me to believe that if Vivienne is one of the gated romances, she will also be bi.

Well, Cullen has shown prior bigotry against both dwarves and qunari.

Does she even want it though? But if that ends up being the case sure. (I thought the PC couldn't become royalty again though? Cassandra wanting to be queen and only romancing a male human...kind of puts him in line to be king >_> especially since he's nobility).
