I agree. They most likely know who the romances are, especially given the fact that they gave us the total number of companion/advisor romances.

yeah this is very unlikely the game comes out in less than 4 months its pretty much finished. 

That was my thinking, actually. But, I haven't been paying too much attention since Cassandra was confirmed as a straight romance.

They can't yet. They don't have all the details finished for it yet.

 

The game is feature locked, so the options must be definitive, there's no reason to hold the info any longer.

They definitely know who the LIs are, I have no doubt of that. It's way too late in the day to be adding or taking out full LI plots. At most, they may not be ready to announce the race gates, but even then, it seems likely the last two will stay.

I've just been trying to catch up on this thread, it's been several tens of pages so I've been mostly skimming, but I have been paying attention to Allan's posts and I just have to say that he is amazing! Honestly I think he is my favourite person that I've never met.

Aside from that, I am pumped about the romances in DAI. I generally play female characters but because of Dorian and Cassandra I now have a reason to roll a male or two. I can say that as of now, Iron Bull isn't doing much for me but his personality in game might make him my favourite LI yet, who knows! I'm just so happy that everyone gets so many options!

Your positive outlook is really refreshing.  I feel much the same way, especially because of Dorian.  Iron Bull isn't my physical type, but I'll admit...I'm intrigued.

Maybe this will make you feel better.  Remember DG's post on the forums linked from his tumblr where he talked about the "laser-focus of female companions" after the 6:3 split was confirmed?  Well, he picked my quote specifically as the starting ground for his point.  It wasn't personal I'm sure, as he was addressing the whole thread.  However, after seeing that hit all sorts of websites, it was pretty embarrassing for me.  Still, a lot of clarity and comfort of mind (for me at least) came out of the whole thing and how BioWare was trying to look at things going forward.

 

I can also tell that you're having a rough night.   It's just been weird all around.  See, it's what's called a "Super Moon" out right now.  This is the time of year where the moon is closest to the earth.  Every once in a rare while, this coincidences with the full moon.  So it's like an extra dose of weird, but this is the last night of it.  May things seem easier for you tomorrow.

So do you think the 2 romances will be (or at least NPCs you want to be a romance). Blackwall and Solas are good possibilities. Its Vivienne is likely (I guess). Varric maybe, but I have some doubt that he will be. We'll have to see.

We know we won't be able to spam gifts like in Origins for approval, but do you think there will be special gifts we can give and have conversations about, like in DA2? If so, what gift do you think each LI would get?

 

For example, for Josephine we know that she misses the view of the Antivan Sea out her window, so we think you can get her a painting of the Antivan Sea to put in her room in Skyhold.

I really liked personal gifts that led to conversation. It was better than the "Take my gifts!" - X (+10000 approval)

I strongly HOPE we can give them some kind of special gift (and maybe get one in return eventually) as for what they would be I'm sadly not creative enough to think of what they might be

Ooh, good question.    I certainly hope so.  That was actually one of the parts I loved about DA2 friendship and romance arcs.  As long as it isn't as easy to overlook.

 

How about a really nice mead horn for Iron Bull?  That's one of my ideas.

I think it would be nice if there were one or two "special" gifts you could give. Even if they don't give you any approval, I would love for them to exist. I really like the reaction and dialogue from them in DA2. I understand why they don't want to allow you to spam gifts, but one or two gifts that don't overload you with approval can add a lot to the story and characterization. It would be sad to lose them completely.

Yes unfortunately I have learned that there are many people who are apparently incapable of empathy and can only think of themselves, oh well. Through these forums I've also learned that there are many people who are willing to have their views challanged and then to even change such views, people who want the best for everyone, people who are genuinely caring and thoughtful. I've actually found that the latter generally outnumber the former which makes me hopeful!

Also thank about the avatar! The hitman series is one of my favourites and minion as Agent 47 was just too cute to pass up!

I always wondered about the gifts we got from love interests in DAO and the gift we got in the Temple of Andraste.  They didn't show up in inventory.  Did they do something?

I would love for there to be special gifts for companions and LI's. Although I must say that without metagaming I'm pretty sure I would have continually missed Fenris' one gift in DA2. I know I missed it in my first playthrough (with no meta-knowledge) and I really can't think of any reason I would have had to search the alienage at night beyond finding that one gift, so I guess I hope that any special gifts in DAI aren't quite so difficult to find. But that could have just been me, lol

Like, close the BSN tabs now, and run quickly in the other direction.  It's inescapable.

Fenris had two gifts. The Book of Shartan and the Sword of Mercy.

Yes I do think that modern western society does generally treat gay/lesbians equally under the law. 

 

I'm not sure where you're from, but in the vast majority of the world this is faulty. Even places where they've legalized marriage equality still don't allow queer couples to adopt, nor are third genders legally recognized.

 

One of the reasons people accuse you of being 'privileged' is because you cannot seem to understand how social inequalities effect people who are not you.

 

 

Society and human nature operates in a manner which means such uneven treatment between races exists.

There is no biological, or natural, reason for racism. It is purely cultural, the result of thousands of years of ignorance that has favoured white people. Claiming humans are fundamentally prone to treating other ethnicities unfairly is, well, wrong.

 

 

That's just the tip of the ice berg for things I disagree with about your post, those were just the major flaws that jumped out at me right away. If you're up for a civil debate, you are welcome to PM me. I imagine Allan or others might have more to say to you here anyway.
