Anyone else hoping against hope that they are dragging out the reveal of the last 2 LIs because they decided to scrap the race-gating entirely?

I don't really know. I've used the term "sexually ambiguous".
I'm an asexual panromantic, so I know how it feels not to be represented. : P
Asexuals make up a total of 1% of the population.

Compared to Iron Bull the race-gating is story-reasons so I doubt they scrapped it
And we still don't know if the last two are the race-gated ones

@Sasha: After all of that was said and done yesterday, I think the term that came up was demisexual. <hug>

Well, at GaymerX they said they may look into doing an asexual romance in future projects.

Hopefully it's not Cullen. I'll be fine with that =/

Probably not because unlike Iron Bull the race gates for these two characters is story not animation based.Anyone else hoping against hope that they are dragging out the reveal of the last 2 LIs because they decided to scrap the race-gating entirely?

Would you mind terribly if I used that term as well? As a person who doesn't really know that about themselves either saying 'sexually ambiguous' sounds a lot better than me telling people 'I have no clue'.

I actually don't mind unapologetic evil companions (provided they're not stupid evil). I do love a vast majority of the SWTOR Sith companions and a lot of them have very questionable morality. Really it's stupid evil portrayed as EDGY!!! COOOL!!! that hits all my "seriously?" buttons. Even on screen.
What I'm more likely to dislike are evil brutes. (Skadge, Xalek. If I could airlock those two I'd do it without a second thought. DS Jaesa fits into that as well). And companions that do questionable crap but then whine at the PC for doing the same cause suddenly "Murder's wrong!" when they're cackling about it in conversation five minutes before that.
oh so murder's only wrong when it's against people that remind you of you? GTFO.
I agree that the evil=cool thing it's annoying. But I'd say almost more for aesthetic reasons than anything else. Looks super juvenile to me. It's a problem I have more often with the evil options for the PCs than with companions though (at least in ME and DA, I haven't played SWTOR, for instance)

It seems the reason behind it is different from IB's.

Usually when they say asexual, they mean you don't need to have sex to keep the relationship. That's not actually asexuality.

That was close, but I don't know if it fits well enough to identify as yet.

I'm ok with race gating as long as Sera is open for atleast humans, but heck I want to romance her as a female qunari also <.<

I know, but they meant an asexual romance as in the person is asexual, not just they don't have a sex scene.

I'm hoping for Solas as a bi LI and neither Solas or Dorian to be gated against both humans and elves. If I could get that, it would be perfect. Don't care who gets the gates otherwise.

Yep, this is accurate Deadly. Hopefully that brightens your day. ![]()
I know it isn't much, but for this game, some of the relationships won't end with, "And your reward for the romance is sex." I'm not sure if it's some or all where sex isn't required, but I know it is an option for the game in some fashion.

They specifically said that's what they don't want to do. That if they did it, they'd want to treat it respectfully and accurately so, probably not for DA:I, but very possibly in a future game.

Yep. I dont mind playing evil brutes because most of the time someone calls them what they are. An evil brute. My issue is more companions are often not called out on this by the PC. (Your options tend to be generic "Nice" or a weak no that the PC never follows through with.)
Though in DA most of the brute options are just absurd. (Killing the merchant in Lothering, Killing Javaris).
I don't mind the being there but I want more manipulative evil choices =/

I think you are mixing two things up. They talked about having to do research to do a real asexual romance in a future game in the Romance panel. But in Ashe's interview, Gaider mentioned that he remember one romance where the "sex scene" is at the player discretion, so you could play it somewhat asexual if you ignore that dialog choice, but it's not quite like that either.

I personally would prefer an asexual option within a romance rather than a full asexual romance, due to resource constraints.

random question but what's been said about the dialogue wheel this time around? Can we be diplomatic/sarcastic/aggressive again like in DA 2 or did they change it?

Hmm, I just hope they do some research into it. A lot of people think they know what it means, but they don't.
I love BioWare, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.
