I don't really like the word "evil". Most choices are entirely subjective, anyway. I don't believe any companion in Dragon Age has been anywhere near evil. Most antagonists are even pretty morally grey.

Raiding people, doing slavery, stealing other people stuff and escaping the law because it's a death sentence for the type of crimes you commit isn't evil in your book?

Well, thank you for telling me. How would an asexual romance work, then?

What BabyFrattelli (love the username by the way, "baby brothers") is right.

An asexual romance would depend on the type of asexual. If it's a sexually aversive one, like me, they'd be into cuddling, maybe kissing and whatnot. Having the more common type of asexual, the ones that have active libidos, would be difficult. It would be hard to tell that they're asexual since they'll go with it (assuming they consent). Maybe if they take no pleasure in it, it would be easier to tell.

No that no matter how close an asexual is with a person, they will never experience sexual attraction to them. People who don't experience sexual attraction to people until they have formed a close, emotional relationship with them are called "demisexual".

I believe there are ways to make an asexual relationship in a game work, and it could actually make for some interesting story, in my opinion. Hero tries to woo them with their sex appeal, asexual person tells them it doesn't work like that. Later they form a romantic relationship, maybe have sex. They may not be sexually attracted to the PC, but the seemingly unbreakable wall ends up being passable.

Basically picture Isabela flirting with someone who is into women and getting no reaction. The horror she would feel. XD

I wouldn't necessarily say so. It depends on the context.

Well, I understand your point. But I surely feel evil doing some things, things that I do only once, in what I think of precisely as "the evil playthrough", and that I can never bring myself to do in "regular" playthroughs... And then, there's still decisions that not even in my evil playthrough I can make, like handing Fenris over to Danarius, an option that for me screams EVIL  :D  not trying to convince anyonw who does that that's doing wrong (very, very wrong) but yes, that's how I feel  :P

Yeah I will never feel the Fenris choice is not evil. I kind of felt a little nauseous doing it because it's so unnecessary. And it's not even hilariously absurd like most of the other evil choices.

All it really means, though, is: profoundly immoral and cruel.  I'd disagree about DA companions, we've had some very dark companions, they were just dressed up in some very pretty, shiny personalities (like Zevran).

Well, I feel the same. There are choice that I personally do not like and that I never do. I'm just saying, it's subjective in the larger picture. I've heard people argue their justifications for most choices and in defense of most characters and it's rare that I just literally go, "NOPE NOPE NOPE NOT OKAY NOPE", even after hearing people argue their case. (Alrik no, pls.) I never spare Loghain, for example, but I see him as morally grey. I just can't personally support him or forgive what he allowed to happen.

Hawke pretty much stabs him in the back and Fenris just slumps over with all the fight drained out of him. It's just heartbreaking.

It's interesting, yes. I wouldn't play it myself, and I don't know how it would go over as a core romance option, but I can see why some would be interested.

I'm glad he says it's not asexual representation. Because it's really not. David may have misinterpreted what was meant, because we know it isn't an asexual representation. An asexual representation would be having an asexual character. This particular person simply liked the idea of not having to have sex to continue a relationship because they are asexual.

Personally, I have no problem with the romance options "requiring" sex, though this was never the case with Alistair or Leliana, as I recall. You could reject them and, though a tad disheartened, they would stay with you. I think the scenes are sweet, TBH.

And when the screen goes black, it's left for you to imagine. If you don't want them to have sex then imagine they're having a cup of tea or something. xD

I tend to think it's absurdly evil, especially considering Hawke only gets, what, 6 sovereigns out of it? By that point in the story, the junk in Hawke's inventory can probably net 6 sovereigns, and junk can't mow down slavers and templars like a BAMF.

I think it would basically be like any other romance, except the PC would have to be the one to ask. It needn't even be addressed. They can choose to romance the person without outright asking for sex. : P

Wouldn't that not entirely count as representation, or would it be an ambiguous thing where you could see it as asexual or not?

Zevran was groomed to be an assassin in a culture that considers that wholly normal. To me, it's not evil. But I guess it just depends on what you consider evil. I just don't like the term because I find it a little insulting and dismissive to people that disagree.

Yeah it's just stupid evil without the lulz thrown in and you're right Fenris himself would be worth much more than that as a bodyguard which he is kind of already is to Hawke. It just doesn't make any sense. If only Hawke could flip out and kill Danarius for insulting him at least then I could get some of the hilariously absurd evil vibes. As it is =/

They're so fun.

I do that for my the lulz playthrough. Because people following that kind of person around because they're the only ones willing to get things done tickles my funny bone.

Hee, it can be incredibly entertaining.  The evil path often has the most amusing one-liners and ridiculous scenarios.  There are many issues I have with the ME series, but playing as a Renegade FemShep is one of the main reasons I stuck with it.  Being the biggest jerk in the galaxy to hysterical results.

Thanks, but I didn't feel bad at all. I'm "in the closet" (my mom once yelled at me for saying I would adopt instead of having kids, so I'm hesitant to tell her), but the few people who know are very supportive and respect my desire to keep it a secret. The lack of representation isn't that big a deal for me. Hell, a lot of people think people like me don't exist because it's "not possible" to not experience sexual attraction (go figure).

Lots of members of the LGBTQ community are not recognized. The transgender community, for instance. We acknowledge them, but if you go to a pride parade, it is all about homosexuals, polysexuals, and pansexuals (the latter two generally being referred to as "bi" even though that isn't always the correct term). I know several trans people who have gone to pride parades and LGBTQ conventions that offered no trans support.

I'm more interested in being acknowledged by people in general, rather than the media. Though I suppose one could argue that the latter helps the other. *shrugs*
