I'm kind of curious about how would PW make Solas react in a confrontation with IB. I have trouble imagining it

I can't imagine they'd be yelling at each other. I picture traded barbs and general disagreement but not shouting matches or any fierce sort of anger towards each other.

Was wondering if anyone was going to have "extremes" in there party or something more harmonious. For example, I've heard Sera isn't going to be very happy with Cole; even calling him "it"; but Solas and Cole are going to get along well, etc., etc.

I might. I don't mind it much if they hate each other. I'll probably pick the ones I find more interesting, regardless of how well they get along. Any combination with Sera, Cullen Solas, Cassandra and Dorian, probably. IB and Varric are options too.

Edit: I can't believe I wrote Cullen instead of Solas    I guess my subconscious it's adapting to my real LI options  :(

I wonder how Solas and Sera will get along, especially if Cole and Solas get along well.

To be honest, I think he'll think she's stupid.

What about... cold but ever-present anger?

Well, it says he has a problem with the Qun do to the restriction of freedom. I imagine he'll question IB's beliefs. I can imagine him pointing out IB's blatant hypocrisy, because.. well, how could you not?

What hypocrisy? The hedonistic lifestyle?

Guess I should cross out my plans of keeping those two in a party together then :(

Also if Sera calls Cole an it she's finding her little ass stuck out on the streets or in skyhold I expect everyone to be professional damnit.

With how they said things were supposed to work out-banter and characters effecting each other-everyone may end up getting along, or having a better tolerance for each other in the least.

Pretty much everything he does wouldn't be allowed by a common member of the Qun. Especially if he's in a relationship, he's a huge hypocrite.

Oooh that one. The dwelling on useless history conversation. That's where he goes "You had a life you had a family and you gave them up to follow ghosts." Isn't that after his act 2 quest?

It's here ^^

Spoiler

I'm not sure when it takes place. One interesting thing about Fenris, as hurtful as his comments can be, he rarely initiates the confrontation. Usually the other characters (Merrill, Anders, and Sebastian, especially) say something first, and he responds.

I think DA2 was loaded down with tragic characters. What Fenris went through is unimaginable (at least for me, in my cushy 21st century first world lifestyle). Anders knows he's falling apart and that he made a terrible mistake, but he can't stop. Merrill knows she's steadily chipping at a void between herself and the only family she's ever known, but she does it anyway. Really, they are all too damaged to be expected to converse rationally with one another.

I hope we don't encounter this many damaged companions in DAI. I loved everyone in DA2, but the situation in DAI is dour enough... I hope our companions are more grounded and in a happier place.

I could really careless how Sera treats Cole, I'm not really fond of him either actually and I don't plan on using him anyway, heck he's optional.

Possibly. Though I have a feeling that Iron Bull's arc will involve him starting to question the Qun and Solas might be a character that tries to explain the flaws of it to him and push him away from it.

Long as its not a repeat of the quickly tiring hate banter from DA2 I can manage, I just don't want to feel like I need to threaten to turn this party around if those kids don't quite down in the back again^^;

Yeah, Merrill did not deserve the crap that Fenris and Anders rained on her. For me, Merrill is the one companion where I felt the friendship/rivalry system didn't work so well, because I didn't want to agree with everything she did, but being in a rivalry just left a bad taste in my mouth. And I'd rather support Merrill emotionally (even if I'm holding my tongue on the dangers of blood magic) than join in on the Merrill Hate Parade.

Yeah, that Marethari conversation is seriously like the conversation where I just .... No. I'm usually understanding of Fenris and his opinions, but not this one. What he said there is like... haha, I have to pretend he didn't say it. Or else I'll get pissed off that I can't actually go and lecture him for it.

Rivalry isn't the Merrill hate parade. But agreed on her not deserving the crap Fenris and Anders constantly rained on her. I thought her friendship/rivalry worked best though. Cause it was on one issue it didn't try to tie two different issues to the same scale like Anders and Fenris did. (Also Isabela's rivalry assuming Hawke's boring is just =/ )

You should've been able to go WTF in several banters. Hopefully that'll be fixed in DAI since the PC can participate in banters now.

Thx for the link. And yeah that is interesting about Fenris.

But yes happier companions for DAI please.

I have no real opinion of Cole yet but if Sera calls him an it that makes me worry it make be like a rehash or Fenris and Anders or Merrill and Fenris/Anders banter again and I DO NOT want that, it made me feel like a soccer mom driving around with a bunch of bratty kids >>

I just hope that even if they hate each other because of things that happened in their pasts, we won't get the same level of bickering as we did in DA2. The world is falling apart so I hope our companions will have a sense of duty and maturity and not let any dislike towards each other affect the Inquisition. Seeing that would annoy me more than anything, especially since our companions are supposed to be "the best" this time around.

And as for the professional area. We're going to definitely have problems from everyone at one point or another. During the demo when Leliana acted out; well lets just say I would have rather her waited than pulling a "you screwed with me so I'm screwing with you."

Emotional, Religious, Mental, Physical- Everyone is going to make an excuse and step out of bounds. I'm 99.99% positive of this.

At least with the interactive banter system, hopefully you can shut people down if they get too ridiculous.

Haven't seen the video so I'll take your word on it. I'm just hoping the hate banter doesn't get to the point where its a repeat of a LOT of the banter from DA2 that was draining and got real old real fast. I get snapping at each other especially in high stressful situations but Maker help them if its a constant thing I may shove them all into the last Fade tear if it is.

I guess that's true. I guess I just don't like the rivalry options... To me they just seem mean. =P

And I certainly yelled "oh what the hell" out loud several times because of the banters or jabs they took at each other. "No, I'm not going to give Fenris back to Danarius what the hell" "I'm not going to kill Anders what the hell Fenris" " I will pull this quest over RIGHT NOW if you guys can't be civil"

EDIT: Wait, what, banter is interactive?!

XD to each their own.

Yes. It was just aggravating.

Yeah I heard you'll be able to interact with some of the banter. There's a trigger or something apparently.

Definitely with you there. Sometimes it made it difficult to stay in character to keep them around. Those conversations were so draining. :/
