Canon playthroughs, alright

 

DAO- Dalish she-elf- duel weapon rogue- romanced Leliana

DA2- Ugh, that game it's been some time, I don't even remember who I chose, I think it was Merril, with a Lady Hawke

DAI- I'll defo roll out another Dalish she elf rogue, not sure who I'm gonna romance though- undecided for now.

what I remember is Isabella saying Aveline is masculine, in a very derogative way. Not that that it's nice, because it's not but it's not the same thing that ugly. I was honestly curious about the possibility that I have missed some banter between them

I don't think she uses the word ugly but she calls her things like man hands and a manwoman if I recall correctly.

 

I love them both too but I did not like all the hate and it felt like even more of insult to my hawke who was romancing Isabela. I still love both ladies but that hate man it wears down on me quickly^^;

Females or even people rip on each other all the time. It's not like Aveline just lies down and takes it. I can recall 3 instances right away where Aveline calls Isabela a ****.

I have never called someone ugly, a ****, or a ******. They were both very ugly to one another and I was so relieved when they finally became friends.

Since then I've spent two years reading fanfiction where they constantly refer to one another as **** and ***** because fandom is horrible. I am hoping none of the characters I like spend time tossing real world pejoratives at one another.

This. I find the ****** comment to be way more insulting and ****-shaming than the ugly comment.

Insulting someone's appearance is no better than insulting their sexual experience.

I'd consider my canon playthroughs to be:

DAO - female City Elf duel-wielding rogue who romanced Alistair and then had to let him go rule Ferelden with Anora (drama playthrough)

DA2 - female duel-wielding rogue who romanced Anders (drama plathrough)

Yeah. I just really don't like it when someone tries to use it to justify one character being a bad person but not the other, when it clearly goes both ways. Hate banter seemed to be a common theme in DA2 though.... too much for my taste.

Re: the banter in DA2... yeah, it got very tiresome after a while, especially the fights and snarking. I was frustrated more than once that the game didn't let me turn around and slap them for the things they said, or at least tell them to shut up or go home.

DAO.
Male Dalish, age: 16. I have the awesome mod installed that makes him a mage, i.e. Merrils rival since he would be the first (birthright). Hates all humans and Zathrians clan with passion because of what they did to his parents: In my headcanon, mother comes from Zathrians clan and father was killed by Redcliffe shemlens, which explains why Theron sided with the werewolves and abandoned Redcliffe. Healer and Shapeshifter.
Romances everything he can just to break hearts. Secretly loves Morrigan, but feels rejected by her "just fun no love" attitude. They are together at the end, but he lets Loghain make the final sacrifice.
If I cannot import the mage class, let him be a warrior, Reaver and Berserker.

DA2.
Boring version. Female Blood mage Hawke with rivalmanced Fenris. Sides with mages. Direct personality.
Cool version. Female Shadow rogue rivalmances Anders, making fun of him and siding with Templars where she can. Helps the mages at the end because she doesn't want Anders to commit suicide. Sarcastic gal.

DAO Awakening: Let the architect go, made Nathaniel Howe a Grey Warden, got high enough approval with all companions that none of them died during the siege.

 

DA2: Female Warrior again, two handed this time, 100% friendship romance with Isabella, sent Bethany to the tower. Killed Anders

 

DAI: I'm gonna headcanon a female city elf turned Dalish (Since city elf isn't an option) will romance either Sera or Josephine first play through.

I never really understood the phrase "talking your ear off" until I brought them two out together... felt like I was babysitting angry toddlers sometimes.

 

I'm not saying I hate either character, but sometimes... no, just no.

I really don't mind it if they hate each other, even if they go on and on with the bickering (I might be good with kids after wall, who would have said?  ​ ). It only bothers me with Merrill, because then it's not hating each other, it's Fenris (and Anders, but mostly Fenris) hating Merrill. If Merrill was as ***** as the others are with one another, I'd be fine with that too. But, well, moot point because Merrill it's not like that
