XD

That'd be interesting and a way for Feynriel to turn up in Inquisition regardless of what Hawke did.

Please no Quizzy turning tranquil though.

I'd rather it was the LI turned tranquil anyway. I maaay have a little bit of a thing for vulnerable/injured/in peril men. In fiction, that is.

Well, we know you can cure tranquility now, anyway. I think Cole could even do it. You just need to have contact with a spirit. I could even see the veil tears having some mass restorative effect.

It'd be interesting, AS LONG AS IT CAN BE EASILY AVOIDED

I don't mind if it can't be avoided, so long as it can be cured. :) I love intensely emotional drama like that, but I hate sad endings. *is a sap*

well, for all that they swear they only consider narrative reasons when determining these things, I think they would consider it wasteful to spend a good chunk of writing and animation budget on a romance that would be experienced by a comparatively narrow cross-section of players.

Ensuring that we have choices for everyone also makes us feel more comfortable trying out something with a bit less concern of making sure availability is ensured too, however.

Well it can be cured permanently (as long as they dont retranquilize them) but apparently emotions become amplified.

Also you need to get a good spirit to possess them

Then again... having a fade brand hand might help.

I don't think emotions are actually amplified as that it's just overwhelming when you haven't felt them in so long. I think it's probably something they would get used to again over time and is probably more or less emphasized based on how long they were tranquil.

A good role for Cole, when he figures himself out, maybe?

I know this is probably never gonna happen outside of the realm of fanfiction, but there's no harm in talking about what kind of arcs we'd like to see happen with our LIs. We've talked about basically everything else at this point, hahaha.

Oh, 100% absolutely. I hate sad endings. And I hate when gay romance stories end in tragedy. But I love stories of love saving the day and pushing through the tragedy to have a happy ending. :)

Don't need to be possessed. Just need a spirit/demon to "reach out" to them and restore their connection to the Fade. I'm thinking it very possible Cole could be able to do this. Unless the spirit/demon needs to be in the fade... although honestly I could easily see the rifts to be possibly affecting the Tranquil.

just a quick question... Am I reading this right that straight males can only romance humans? (barring a completely unknown NPC being the last female romance. I'm assuming its Viv)

really disappointed if that is the case, a Female Quinari or Dwarf would have been really interesting, 3 generic human LIs for the largest part of the fanbase just seems like a mistake... or laziness

I wouldn't call it lazy, they came up with a cast of characters, it just so happened that all the "minority" race spots were filled by male characters or Sera.  I guess they could have written Sera has bi and changed one of the other females to gay to give straight males more variety but they didn't.

maybe lazy wasnt the right word... I was just so happy that the took the Mass effect 3 route and actually wrote gay straight AND Bi characters instead of just making everyone BI (which I thought was lazy in DA 2)... I thought they were really going all out on romances

But then I got to straight male and noticed they went white human, brown human, black human and called it cool.

SERIOUSLY?  We have Quinari, elves and Dwarfs and they decided to just make 3 humans of different colors?

Maybe wait til you play the game to decide if Cassandra, Josephine and Vivienne are 'generic' characters? :/

3 human females for LI... Would it have killed them to mix it up a little? its a fantasy game with all these interesting races and they just gave me 3 different shades of human?

maybe your right, maybe they managed to write 3 amazing and different female human LIs that are nothing like the female humans LIs of their other games...( I doubt it)

Would still much rather have something different like a female Quinari or dwarf something that they havent done before

To be fair, only white and brown are confirmed thus far.  :P

To be fair, their focus of LIs was more on representation of sexual orientation than that of races.

If you're concerned about us using common archetypes in our romances for women, I'm not sure why you'd think that we'd suddenly have magnificent clairvoyance for doing something different and unique with a different race.  If your interest in romancing a Qunari or Dwarf is based on their politics/history, that still applies for new human characters as well.

The thing is we don't create characters to be romanced.  We create characters, and then determine who fits for romances that we want to tell.  While I agree that it'd be neat to have a Qunari woman as a companion, that fact alone wouldn't make her romanceable either.

With every game there's going to be people that are unsatisfied with the choices available to them.

I would trade you Sera for Cassandra if I could.
