Funny. Out of the possibilities, they are the only two that I have zero romantic interest in and likely never will.
Iron Bull, Blackwall and Varric are pretty equally "no go" for me.

I think you'd be safe with Blackwall, but Iron Bull is the size of the Inquisitor's horse. That has to be difficult to animate.
It's different in several ways, but it still allows for portions of the fanbase to feel marginalized. I don't typically let myself get annoyed by that kind of thing, but even I would be irritated if there was a same sex exclusive romance for females while gay males would only have bisexual partners to choose from. It can be seen as implying that lesbianism is more acceptable to display than two exclusively gay men.
Well, a same sex relationship is a same sex relationship, as far as I see it. I feel like it would only be implying that portrayal of female same sex relationships were more acceptable if there were no male same sex relationships, like the situation in Mass Effect. To me, there's no difference if they're bisexual or homosexual. I realize others disagree.
But I also came into this against gating and so as little gating as possible is more appealing to me. I admit that's my personal bias.
I wonder how complicated BW is going to be with these restrictions. Will every character be race-gated and how many is gender-gated? Will there be another restrictions like class (mage)? It also seems like they aren't going for equal amount of LI's for all race + gender combos so at this point it's quite hard to quess how many LI's there are and who they are available for.
Also I wonder if there is going to be "free-for-all" companions who are bisexual and like every race.
What are the restrictions we know of so far?

I can see where you're coming from. I don't necessarily think that my feelings on the matter are completely rational. It just reminds me of the whole "lesbians are hot but two guys kissing is gross and wrong" kind of thinking.
Then again, we view the issue of gating differently. I like it (at least in a way) because it can provide for tighter characterization. That's not necessarily always the case, though.

Sexuality and race. I think Allan said earlier that there might be class restrictions but he hasn't heard of those and it's unlikely.
What are the restrictions we know of so far?
Aside from sexual orientations, such as Sera only liking women?
Nothing.
But, it seem very likely that dwarves will suffer the most, and probably qunari the second most.
Its important to remember, there isnt any lore behind this, its entirely and issue of them not wanting to make the animations.
Spoiler
Ha! x'D Very similar to how a more immature part of me reacted when I read his info on the main site
(including pestering a friend about it for quite a while, whilst they looked at me with a judgmental stare I regret none of it)
Is that an elf warden? He's huge.

Reminds me of the musclebound Salarian. Tazzik.

Not gonna lie, that scares the crap out of me...

Oh gross.
That salarian has 5 fingers.

They seemed pretty agreeable to the chart idea, which does imply some complexity.
Damn that's...a buff salarian. XD

Surely no one actually believes we are going to see that thing?

I wish they had put him in ME3. He's a pretty cool character in the comics (although he's mentioned in one of Liara's terminals).

Yeah I hardly ever read Liara's terminals XD
But it'd be awesome if we could get a non lanky elf companion for a change ![]()

I would say we should be hopeful to see one but that would go against me always expecting the worse of things, though it would be great to see it >>

He's a manly guy and he does manly things, no skinny bishies in that webcomic.

We'll probably have to settle for a fan made one after the game is released, I'm just saying that it sounded like they thought a chart could be useful.

I don't expect a real chart until a strat guide appears.
