Do you guys think it's likelier for the LI announcements to come before SDCC, or during it? Or will we not get an announcement at all, and have to wait until August?
I'm torn between thinking they'll announce them next week before SDCC, so that they can focus on the gameplay elements. On the other hand, romances are a big draw, so they might hold out and announce some during a demo. (Perhaps with Felicia Day?)
I think they might announce during the con. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't just one, though. Probably Vivienne. They only did one last time and Sera/Dorian came out separately.

They just released a whole bunch of info. I would expect to hear nothing before the con.
The US Warden WAS killed off, and not some everyday death, no his soul was teared aprt to destroy the Archdemon soul, so there's simply nothing left, it's not the thing you want to write if you plan to bring the character back in a fem games (let alone at the crucial job of big bad).
There are plenty of ways they can write around it, or even rewrite/retcon aspects of it. They brought back Leliana and Anders, even if dead in Origins and Awakening, after all. But, really, my comment was made in outlandish jest, which is why there's a winky tongue face on it. 
I'd find the Warden as Inquisition's big bad to be really silly in general.

I think it likely that LIs would be revealed at cons. We have a few left to go until October.

Based on that, I strongly wonder if they didn't always plan to have Varric reunite with Bianca. It's possible they lead into it with the comic and they've always planned that as his arc for DA:I.

If they announce only Vivienne, then poor people waiting for the guy option will go crazy. And if they announce the guy, then I will be the one who'll go crazy, wondering if Vivienne is an option at all (or straight).
Especially since she's the 'make it or break it' option for me. If she's bi, I'll be sad about Cass but we'll still get 3 lovely ladies who all seem interesting and amazing, and a nice diversity in appearance/personality. But if she isn't, that would mean gay ladies get less options and only one companion. And for me personally it'd mean getting my third and fourth choice out of 4 available ladies. So yh, I really hope they just tell us already XD
I'd seriously love to help Varric reunite with Bianca, or at least learn what happened and watch him come to terms with stuff. As long as it doesn't turn into the "gee, I'm over her now and can luv j00!" typical trope of romance interests and tragic past loves. It would just be awesome to see him get a happy ending with her without it having to mean anything else.

Yeah, I think that's entirely possible. I'm not going to completely rule him out and start crying bitter tears until a developer unambiguously states that Varric is not a love interest in Inquisition, though. (Or until one of them says 'here are our final two romance options, Vivienne and Solas!') It's possible that David Gaider just meant that's the reason there's no Varric romance in DA2, or that plans changed.
If Varric is not a romance, I will be pleased if I can reunite him with Bianca. Then I will cry some more, and conclude that after fifteen years we are never, ever getting a dwarf romance.
And just as an added wrinkle, there are apparently three straight options per the panel?
They didn't say there were three straight options. They were rattling off a hypothetical with, "three straight options, a couple bi, a couple gay". Which isn't even 8 options. The context was never as a confirmation of anything.

But as far as Varric goes, I wouldn't want him. The Inquisitor romance would never be as big a story, even if he moved on. Bianca/Varric has a lot of elements I associate with "epic, tragic romance" and it's hard to see anything else as measuring up. Not that Inq/Varric couldn't be happy, but it doesn't feel like the story future bards would reach for.
I find tragic romances usually grate on me if the people involved don't move on. I hope Varric does, even if I have no interest in romancing him.
