I just wish they would tell us if both the remaining LIs are bisexual. It would really put me at ease a lot, if it's true. Not getting the LI I want for the last slot would be disappointing, but being in the only demographic to get one less LI and knowing they were willing to gate one of our only two options on top of that if a dev didn't give up sleep on his own time to change it would be.. really hurtful.      

 I truly do not think that the gating is going to be due to cinematics or any laziness on the writers' parts.  I will come clean and say I really hope there's a romance arc that doesn't involve having to deal with someone else's crazy.  I'm unhinged enough for the whole party.  Making the LIs that way too is a bit of overkill.

@Crimson Considering that we're pretty much at already at that point, it doesn't seem like a half bad idea to me.

I'm just mostly lurking for now.  I'm really hoping we learn more by this weekend.  I think the lack of information about race-gating is even worse than not knowing who the last two LIs are, at least for me.  The latter has been causing a lot of debates and even a few full blown arguments among the fans.  If not by this weekend, I just hope we learn more either during or after Comic Con.

For me, it's rip off the bandage time.  I don't think this is going to happen, but I'd like the race-gating to be announced at the same time as the last two LIs are.  Another week or more of the "is this character racist" debate sounds unpleasant.  I figure get it over with, so we can get all the initial reactions and debates out of the way, then think about how this might tie into the story.

 

The longer the marketing team holds this off, the worse things are going to get on the forums.

Bout the race gates those are what I'm most curious about  cause if they are bisexual I can handle it fine if not then I just won't romance them. Plus I'm more curious about what reasons they came up with to make the race gates story related.

Well, if more information is available, then I'll take it, sure. But, as is, I could see them announcing Vivienne and still waiting a week or two for the last male. I just want to know if the options will be equal. More would be great, but just the one thing would make a huge difference to me.

I totally agree, this is the wrong kind of suspense to be building.  Unless they just want to see the world burn, then maybe they are going about it correctly.  -shrug-

If nothing else the arguments about "what could be" would end. Some congratulations, some fan tears, maybe some "what could have been"...but the sooner the announcements are made, the longer until release we'll all have to come to terms with reality.

Pretty much, but I'll honestly be surprised if it doesn't happen at this point.

I'm sure the marketing team knows what's going on with the rest of the LIs and race gating at this point.  Many marketing teams have an ad strategy that they stick to for pre-release promotion of their product.   They are probably trying to do this to help stretch out the last of the reveals throughout the summer, to get people as hyped up for the game as possible.  The problem is that this is starting to backfire, as more fans are getting stressed out and frustrated at the lack of reveals.

 

If nothing else the arguments about "what could be" would end. Some congratulations, some fan tears, maybe some "what could have been"...but the sooner the announcements are made, the longer until release we'll all have to come to terms with reality.

That's exactly where I'm at.  Just do it and get it over with.

DA:I has the potential to have less companions in the roster that display strictly hetero attractions than those that do not. Unlike any other DA game. Yes, even DA2. 

 

I'll be waiting for all the cries of how unrealistic this is if it comes to pass.

I'll be right in the corner being all like "party!!" while **** goes down because personally, I'm already happy with Dorian and Iron Bull and anyone else is a bonus. I personally just want to know if I'm right or not. By the by, I'm still betting it's Vivienne and Solas- both bisexual, both race-gated (with Vivienne, it's just humans, with Solas, it'll be just elves).

I know it's not a clear equal split, but it's an equal split as far as gender and orientation is concerned.

As much as I would like Bioware to reveal the two race-gated characters, I don't think Bioware will shed any light on that before release.  That's just giving away too much I think.  Then again, I could be hugely mistaken, I've never followed Bioware games this closely on forums before release before.   Although....

I don't think any of the monosexual LIs are race-gated. If they are, it'll probably be Cullen and Varric (if he is a LI). Cassandra, I can't see being race-gated. So you should be fine.
