Maybe it was just too complicated to have every LI have a flag and a spoken line that checked for every combination of pre-existing romances.

Maybe it was to help avoid the ninjamancing problems like what a lot of people had with Leliana or like what I always had with Alistair?

Agreed.  Equal options.  Not out of spite, or because anyone feels that straight men deserve to be "punished" or hounded in some way.  Many folks, including me and Mort here, would prefer if everyone had the same amount of options for romances across the straight/bi/gay spectrum this time. 

 

I'm certain the majority of the regulars that post here prefer equal options.  I have never heard any of us say they actively wanted unequal options.  It's why when these cycles of "stop hating the straights/why are you all (vague generalities) discriminating against straights" arguments/discussions pop up, I boggle at my screen.

I guess i was curious as to how the various characters would handle discovering that you arent being faithful

you said it upset you that flirting with others was cut off though you never CHEAT and wanted to know how your LI would react to you being UNFAITHFUL, sounded like you were referring to being able to flirt with other companions and NPC's when simply flirting isn't cheating

I meant the fact that having other love interests is cut off as soon as you form a relationship with one.

I still think the flirts were cut off to prevent flagging errors so no one gets a sudden 'choose me or them' thing without knowing they even had a romance with one of those parties.

Only companion LI I am looking forward to is Sera just cause of her personality alone, but just makes me wonder who else I'll use in my party since Sera will always have a spot. Depends on what my Inquisitor is. If she's a warrior I want Sera and a mage (maybe Vivenne) and a warrior so probably IB. If I'm a mage probably Sera, IB and Varric then.

I am kind of glad other romances get cut off after a specific point for that reason. I think ninjamancing is funny, but I felt guilty when it happened in my game and I felt like a two-timer and a string alonger which is silly because they aren't actual people.

I hope it happens and not while I'm asleep I'm up to six companions and dagna^^;

 

Yeah it always felt weird when I was romancing Zevran or Leilana and Alistair would tell me I had to choose between them, worst/funniest part was, was that I told him that him and I had nothing and very next time we spoke it was the same 'choose me or them' from him he even brought it up when I tried to marry him to Anora with him asking 'what about us?' By that point it felt like I kept kicking a stubborn puppy begging for scraps    So I'm glad that it sounds like that won't be an issue in DAI

Every night after you fall asleep she drags you out of your tent and curls up next to you then puts you back in your tent before dawn

 

I don't think I have ever had that happen to me, now I did do the whole love triangle thing with Leliana and Morrigan once but never have it just happen out of the blue lol 

 

I always had that problem with Alistair in my playthroughs never with Leliana though.

Totes happened to me on my first play-through of DA:O.  I had apparently activated a romance flag with Leliana (by saying she was pretty), and then when I went to romance Zevran she was like, "wtf man, I know you got with Zevran."  Admittedly I am horrendous at picking out what options are considered flirting in dialogue.    But the fact that she was so chill and still said we could be friends endeared me to her so much that my canon import ended up being with my mage Warden romancing Leliana (and it was a double bonus that my Warden never slept with Leliana in order to romance her).  If this is what the devs wanted to avoid I'm not averse to their decision.

 

I'm happy about the cut-off, since apparently we can have "friendly" flirts.  And the only character I care about flirting with is Dorian, so.

Never had it happen with Alistair either but then again as a female character I never flirted with him at all so maybe thats why it didn't happen lol 

 

I never flirted with the guy either and he still was all 'Hey Me or Zevran choose right now!' right after I had just told him that I wasn't into him. My only option now is to NEVER talk to him and gift spam him once in a while to keep that approval up.

Didn't a similar problem occur in DA 2 where if you triggered something in the end Varric would say the wrong LI stayed with Hawke? Never had that happen either.

Poor Leliana. She sexes so good, you can't even remember it afterwards.

Didn't a similar problem occur in DA 2 where if you triggered something in the end Varric would say the wrong LI stayed with Hawke? Never had that happen either.  

 

I heard there was a bug with Isabela like that but I never slept with more than one LI since DA2 was 'Sex or we're done!' which I did not like that much :/ I did mistake a real flirt with a joking flirt before and got Isabela showing up at my house before the woman takes rejection gracefully I liked that.

Ah I see I guess thats why I never got it since I usually just sleep and romance Isabela only lol
