I wouldn't be surprised if she was a noble though if she is it may get a mention in the game. At least I hope so I am not rich (or really interested enough) to buy the books/comics/movies to learn this stuff^^;

But you're saying it's not true of recent games like DAO and DA2, yet true overall? That doesn't make sense because those two games comprise the only non-mobile games besides the three ME games that Bioware has released since 2007. So, this is an overall trend that only applies to one game series, i.e. ME?
Yeah, Bioware could do better. It can do better than it did in DA2 and ME3. I'm all for encouraging that. But let's be honest, saying there has been no relevant improvement or attempts at improvement, and that Gaider gives not a damn about equality (in Li options--which, as I've repeatedly shown, cannot be equal in DAI and isn't currently) or representation (as others, if maybe not you, think), is simply not true.
(It's worth noting that representation isn't just LIs. I think us in this romance thread might forget that. Although, we haven't had a lot in the way of explicitly gay companions that we can't romance or gay NPCs.)
Gays and lesbians have gotten consistently less than straight players in the DA and ME series. DA:O gave straight players two choices and LGB players one option. DA2 gave straight women one extra option. ME1-2 didn't have any options for gay males and few for lesbians. ME3 had significantly more options for straight men. Bioware has never had a game that didn't favor straight players in some way over gay players.
Have they been improving? Yes, absolutely. DA2 was more equal than DA:O by a wide margin. ME3 actually gave options to gay males, which is obviously a massive improvement over no options, and it improved the situation somewhat for lesbians, also. And that's great. I hope they continue improving and there is definitely room for improvement. My point is not that Bioware are a bunch of sociopaths that hate gays. Maybe it's being taken as more extreme than intended that I said they "don't care" about equal options? It's not a priority to them to offer equal options. It was said they don't prioritize who gets 2, 3, 4 or more options, as long as everyone gets 2 options. I don't believe they're not counting bisexuals as options for gay/straight demographics, because they've never had this attitude before. It's a given that bisexuals will get more options. The issue is semantic and, imo, not worth debating.
I would like for balance of monosexual options to be more of a priority to balance the numbers beyond offering just two minimum. Obviously they aren't required to give a crap what I would like them to do. I don't feel that they owe me options. It would mean a lot to me if equality was higher on their list of priorities than it apparently is, but Bioware has no inherent duty towards this issue. I'm not going to "be happy" if one demographic gets twice as many options as another demographic, not even if I get 4 and straight men get 2. I don't look at inequality as something to smile at. Thus, I hope Bioware continues to move towards more equal numbers.
I consider representation in game and offering equal romantic options to gay/straight players as two separate issues that are both important. Representation doesn't have to be part of the romance system. Non-romanceable characters can be gay, bi or straight. They've actually had very little LGBT representation outside of romances so far, and that's unfortunate. It's another aspect I hope they will eventually improve.

I don't know I only keep up with the games so Cassandra being a noble is news to me^^; but if that's true its pretty sound logic I suppose
Yes , she's from a noble family.
The Pentaghast rule Nevarra .Although she's not a direct heir to the throne as far as I know.

I see Vivienne refusing to drink anything but the freshest of waters and finest of wines (yeah she's not confirmed but she is a very safe bet to be an LI)

This seems pertinent to the discussion above. It seems like straight dudes (and potentially straight people overall if we're getting a lesbian Viv) are the last people who are going to be catered to this time around.
Straight men still get Cass though. Lucky them.

Nah, if Viv isn't romanceable then it's straight men and lesbians that are getting the least number options. And yeah, straight men still get Cass.

I'm listening to the "Freaking Out The Neighbors" panel right now and, although I'm only about 10 minutes in, this actually has a lot of relevant commentary. If anyone hasn't seen the link yet;

It's definitely got some helpful commentary about form in discussion. Impassioned discussion is good, personal insults and irrational anger is not. I try to always keep this in mind with my own posts and I hope that comes across. In context, it was a nice time for a reminder.

...Unless Vivienne is a lesbian, like I said. Which would be fantastically amazing, by the way. Queer Viv in general would be amazing, really.

Lesbian Viv would be a great thing indeed, after the disappointment we got with straight Cass.
Give us an ice queen plz.

I don't see any chance for that. It's more likely that if unequal options really happens, then the fact that lesbians getting treated the same (more or less, as Cass is not of the same level as Sera) as straight men will be used to close mouths of male gamers angered by this.

I hope you mean "straight men don't appreciate Cass", not that Cassandra really is inferior to Sera.

She means that Sera is (possibly) inferior to Cass, since she latter is a mandatory (at least for the start of the game) companion, while Sera might be optional.

Sadly, it's the latter. Straight female LIs tend to be more important for plot. It wouldn't surprise me if Cass is the 'permanent' companion.

Listening to the panel, I don't think they necessarily meant that straight men would definitely have only 2 options in the end. I believe they may have just been talking about how some straight men were reacting to what they know about their options, mostly that straight males aren't used to having options that aren't available to them. Sera is already that. I think they talked about what we know is available to show that, at the least, straight men were getting the same amount of options they've been getting.
That being said, I definitely would not take Vivienne as a given option for anyone at this point.

Rather the other way around. At least judging from what we know for now, Sera is basically sidekick, supporting role, while Cass is a star of the franchise, with her own movie and apparently she's going to be directly tied to the events of the game. As for Sera, there were words that you probably won't even have to recruit her.

Why would Cassandra having more staying power in your party make her inferior to Sera? I'm seriously confused here.
You may be right, Nocte, but it's a tantalizing possibility nonetheless. I do hope Viv is an option for female Inquisitors though, whether she's multisexual or monosexual.

Ah, that makes much more sense. I'm a bit sensitive to people criticizing Cassandra for being a "lesser" romance option, so I auto-read your post that way. Apologies.

My opinion is that the most likely outcome here is still Vivienne/Solas as bi options. Second most likely that I see is Solas as bi and Varric as straight. I'm definitely not 100% confident in my estimates, though.

Why Solas, out of curiosity?
I mean, I'd love for him to be an option, just because Gareth David-Lloyd, but what makes him more likely in your mind than, say, Varric?

I don't think Varric would be likely as a bisexual option and there's the tweet from a year ago saying he loves Bianca "full stop" that still makes it seem like Until We Sleep was hinting at a reunion with Bianca, to me.
