If the last two are males I hope it'd be Race gated Solas and...I really don't care who the second male is after that. As long as he's gated.

 

If Cullen's gated my face. But it's typical of the straight female to get the "unique" romances so I won't be that surprised. Maybe he can stab us in the back midway through the game for some dramaz. Cause yeah. Or mention how we compare to the lovely Amell he crushed on so long ago.

For example, just because someone doesn't want to play a gay male, doesn't mean they don't have the choice to romance Dorian - they just don't like that choice.

 

We all have the option to role play all the romances. The only limits are those we set ourselves.

 

I'll be role playing all the different love interests if I manage to do that many play-throughs. He won't be among my first choices, (Sera and Iron Bull) but I will include a m/m Dorian romance to role play that relationship. I'm sure it will be fascinating and it will be the first time I have run a m/m LI in an RPG.

Huh, I wasn't even aware such horribad portrayals like these ones are still being made today, as a lesbian too that was eye-opening and quite depressing to read.

 

All I can say is I'm thankful for Orange is the New Black, seriously. 

 

That's actually only half of the shows that did it since the end of last year. Once I came across some site of a man who was perving on the idea of lesbian with a man and the media representation of it (though it allowed me to update my list).

It could be either Solas or Blackwall, but I'd guess Solas. There's no really strong reason, but my guess is the calling issue.

This could actually make a lot of sense. They are both huge fan favs, so the devs might look at the 'race-gating' being less of an issue because straight ladies would be getting two really popular characters.

It would also work if the other guy is bisexual because then IB's race gating wouldn't had affected gay male and straight lady dwarves at all because they would still have another option.

For some reason I really don't recall even one portrayal of lesbian character done by gay man that didn't turn out to be demeaning (the same is true for lesbian portrayals done by bisexual women), while some of the best lesbian characters I know were made by straight men.

 

Anyway, I was only talking about his own words. If lesbians really get the least number of options, just the minimal number they all decided to give anyone, then according to his own words apparently lesbian stories are not the stories they were interested in telling. So, maybe having lesbian writers among them would change that.

 

Hold the phone. I never said David was writing any lesbian characters, I used him as an example because he was able to write great straight romances and characters  that I enjoyed. Namely Alistair, Morrigan.

 

You personal opinion about gay men and their writing skills regarding lesbians aside... the point I was trying to make that it doesn't matter if there are any lesbian writers on staff. At Bioware, women write male characters, gays write straights, etc. etc. and I've never been able to tell who wrote who without looking it up on the wikia. I never thought ''well this guy was obviously written by a woman''.

 

Dorian is the first gay male character while David has been on board for both Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age II. If they only picked out romance flavours based on their personal preferences, the palette would have been very different.

Yeah. Someone tweeted Sheryl saying that a lot of people on BSN were saying Blackwall reminded them of their dads and she said Mary Kirby kept telling her that he reminded her of her dad while she was writing him, or something like that.

I thought that gif scene from Modern Family was just funny and spot on, and served as good ending of the sentence about gay man writing straight people. Maybe it's just me and my social circles, but where I live, gay men and lesbians really don't have much in common. 

I remember the first time I saw that scene in Modern Family, dear God I lol'd, we love our gay brothers we do, but there is some truth in that humorous observation.

 

 

Personally in my experience with gay male friends we don't have much in common, but no matter still top blokes.

A.)  Vivienne - bisexual and race-gated; Solas/Varric - bisexual and race-gated

 

or

I think it's honestly more likely that we'd get Vivienne as bisexual and Varric as a straight option than that they'll make him bi, but maybe that's just me being pessimistic. But I'd rather have either Solas or Blackwall as a bi option than Varric, so maybe it's part bias.
