Eh, ME3 had its moments but its endings were panned, even after the Extensions, all over the place and really hurt the ME Brand a great deal. Maybe ME4 will fix the ME image but right now there's a lot of speculation and mistrust for a ME4 as fans don't want to be burned again like with ME3.

DAI has the benefit of the doubt because there were highlights to DA2 and many agree that the game was simply rushed out before it was ready. The main complaints that were in DA2 seem to have been fixed with DA:I taking the best of DA:O and DA2 as well as adding in its own improvements and uniqueness.

While if ME4 is a prequel it will be regarded pretty poorly(as many fans have made it quite known that they don't want a Prequel - especially not about First Contact) and if it's a sequel that doesn't acknowledge Shepard at all than it will be asking for a huge ****storm.

So Bioare put themselves in a corner with how ME3 ended, they would be better off making a new space series in my opinion.

Same, I think DA 2 got a bad rap because everyone expected it to be Origins 2. Though yes there were some parts that could of been better but I loved it and I have played DA 2 more times than I have the entire ME trilogy combined.

At least with the years gone by the merits of DA2 are being recognized. The Combat in DA2 is much more fluid and faster than Origins/Awakening for sure and Mages are really much more fun to play as in DA2 as well.

I absolutely loved ME3, even (especially) the endings. But I'm a big hard sci-fi fan, and I don't mind that the endings inhibited role-playing. I'm new to role-playing games and was into the ME series more for the sci-fi milieu, the narrative, and the characters. Of course I enjoyed the gameplay, etc. but any game can be "fun" to play. Only BioWare games provide that unique extra something!

They ripped soooooooooooooo much off BSG tho. I love that show but goddamn they really did.

Heck I found DA:O's mage class to be painful to play with. The most interesting weapon for this class, for me, was the Spellweaver, but I'd rather just have Morrigan use it while I cut everyone down. I was thrilled to see the changes made in DA2. I was finally able to play with a mage all the way to the end and actually enjoy it.

Pew pew shooter worked for me in DAO. Spell combos were so hilarious I rarely used pew pew shooter past lvl 7 anyway.

I honestly enjoyed a lot of DA2, and for the most part I could at least appreciate what they were trying to do even when I didn't like it.

I think it's main problem was that story wise and theme wise they tried to do too much differently all at once while at the same time the game suffered from a rushed schedule.

Still, I wouldn't mind if they tried the smaller scale, more intimate story again in a future game. I'd actually prefer it to a constant sense of escalation in the sequels.

I think it's main problem is they tried to make a AAA rpg in a year while also changing the graphics engine.

I didn't like DA2 as much as DAO, but one of the major reasons is due to how rushed the game seemed to be. I'm still wondering how the game could've been with a proper dev time.
On ME3, the game has my favourite part of the trilogy (the Genophage arc), but several things I disliked. The major problem for me wasn't even the ending, but the (in my opinion) horrible autodialogue system.
I can't express how glad I was when I didn't see the Inquisitor talking without the player's input in the E3 demo.

I think overall liked better DA than ME, but the truth it's I never felt as attached to the warden or hawke as I did with shepard... also , ME has the guns :D staves and bows are just not the same :P
Edit: didn't had any problem with DA2 or ME 3 (other than the ending, I mean)... But I can live with a fair amount of flaws if l feel it's worthy

I was able to look past DA2's environmental flaws and really enjoy the story.

Absolutely loved ME1 & ME2 but ME3 was weak whilst might have been tolerable if not for the utter trainwreck ending.

Let's see, of the DA games I like DAO more overall but DA2 is more fun to play. Of the Mass Effect games, ME3 is my favorite, followed by ME1 and ME2 rounding it off as my least favorite.

I have never had a real Problem with both Mass Effect 3 or Dragon Age 2, but I always played both only when evry DLC was released and I didn't experience the original Endings to ME3.

Overall, I felt the extended Cut was satisfying enough and rounded of ME3 well, making it easily the best of the Mass Effect Games - which I felt improved with every Title, both in Terms of Storytelling and Gameplay (never thought RPG-Mechanics were really fitting for a SciFi-Setting anyway) - but, to put it in Perspective, I do not care about any Representation Issues (except my eternal Love for dark skinned Women, preferably with "black" Features) as I am a straight white Male. So I did not care about the rampant Sexism in the ME Series.

In Terms of Dragon Age, I think it is easily partable. The Gameplay in Origins was very slow and really boring, while in 2 it was more fun. But in Origins the Story felt more interactive and rewarding, while in 2 it felt like you were a Plaything and had an abrupt Ending. I'd still personally rank 2 above Origins, if only because I'm a shameless Graphics ****** and Merrill and the Role of the Qunari.

I think, however, from what we've seen, Inquisition will top all of them.

So you only care about issues that directly affect you? Do you not feel empathy for anybody different from you or something?

I really loved the ME series - all of it.  Then again, I prefer sci-fi to fantasy in general, and I especially loved some of the grittier/darker environments in ME - Ilos, Feros, Tuchanka, Omega, and so on.  I enjoyed the combat a lot more too, and felt more connected to my FemShep than I ever did to Hawke especially.  And I think ME3 had some really amazing writing (the Tuchanka arc in particular I absolutely loved).  I didn't even think the ending was that bad... though I never played it without the Extended Cut, and thanks to my obsessive completionist mentality managed to get the "best" ending the first time.  Also, I knew just enough about ME to have heard that the ending was absolutely horrible in every way - so I think approaching it with zero expectations made me actually see it as pretty good  :)

But, to bring this back on topic, I do think there were a ton of issues with sexism, bad tropes, and lack of options when it came to the romances in ME, far more so than anything in DA - even if (intro conversation aside  - inappropriate Shepard strikes again!) the Garrus romance is my absolute favorite in Bioware.

Though one area where both ME and DA2 fall short for me are the 'flirt' lines... I just found them so cheesy and awkward.  I have high hopes for the voice actresses in Inquisition at least being able to pull them off better than Hawke's VA did (*cringe*) - though with Shepard, even Jennifer Hale (who I otherwise loved) couldn't make them sound anything but awful.

Think about it from the perspective of a woman who only likes women, who has grown up in a society that tells her that she should make herself appealing and available to men, EVEN when identifying as a lesbian, and it's not that funny.

Sam Traynor isn't a terrible character, but everything about her sexuality seems tailored towards titillating male gamers, even if in a "humorous" way.  It isn't so funny to hear Traynor gush about how much she loves vibrating phallic objects..even Kahlee Sanders' used sex toys, wow, thanks, Weekes, I really feel that you aren't there for the "straighties".

Well as I said, I never played the series so I don't really know the context. All I saw was this cutscene which came across as funny to me because of blueballs Shepard. I can't really identify myself in the perspective you posted, if someone told me as a woman to make myself look good for men I'd just say: sure I'll make myself look good, but not for men though". Which is probably not at all how you feel.

But I see this character apparently stepped on some people's toes so perhaps it'd be better if they stayed clear of these 'funny' things. Though again, me personally I fail to see the real problem, sorry.

In Truth - yes.

To be more detailed: The Issues that don't affect me, do not detract from my Enjoyment of a Game. I can still understand and sympathize with People, who are upset because of these Issues, but personally, my Enjoyment and Opinion about a Game will not be affected or shaped by these Issues.

Hmm well the romance thread has gone into a weird direction buuuut hey why not...

I'll chime in and say I loved all of ME and both DAs. Though I did end up rushing through ME2 as Kaidan wasn't speaking to me... And I haven't been able to finish ME3 more than once because seeing the trilogy come to an end was too painful. :P

One thing that was nice about ME3 was that the romances were able to do stories other than the standard "meet, fall in love" one, because they were already in place from the previous games.

Everything in ME 3 was screwed up

That's a bunch of BS right there.  The only major complaint about the game was the ending.  They did at least improve it a bit with the extended cut DLC which was free though.

I felt the romances didn't take advantage of the bonus of spanning multiple games particularly well.

p.s Ending complaints drowned everything else at time. That doesn't mean there weren't complaints about other stuff, i was deeply unhappy at the massive expansion of auto-dialogue and mediocre content for me2 cast but when there's a massive trainwreck you don't stop to make a complaint about the coffee you had on the journey.
