Just to be clear, my point was not to complain about Solas' appearance, it was more to say that Dorian is really good looking, and that I think that for most people the fact that he isn't white doesn't make him any less so. If that's so I'd be very surprised, really
I wasn't saying it in response to anyone in particular. Just a lot of people were talking about his appearance, so I thought I'd chime in. I didn't think you were complaining.

Positively dreamy~ Though maybe that's just because of the mustache idk. I'm kinda crap when it comes to facial recogniction. I recognize people more by their hair.

Nevertheless... I think Solas rocks the bald-ness. I'm so used to it now I wouldn't want him to have hair at this point. I like him just as he is 
As for Solas, honestly his look has really grown on me. He has beautiful features, really, if you get past OMGBALD. Which some people can't and, well, everyone has a preference, so that's their thing. I think the sharp angles of his features with his full lips and intense eyes make for a really appealing combination. I also prefer men that are more lithe than bulky. Solas is lovely, to me, really. I wouldn't complain about his appearance.
I understand and accept how others could be put off by Solas' appearance. As for myself, I love it. Every part of him, including the baldness, contributes to a really beautiful design that goes with what we've been shown of his personality.
That said...
An elf should never be bald. That breaks a rule somewhere that is just....sacred.
This cracked me up. 
When the discussions about the possibility that remaining LIs could be both men started, I've seen Gaider's earlier words quoted a couple of times, IIRC by Nocte ad Mortem, and those words really looked like the equal treatment in regard to sexuality is their main concern, while it's only race-gating that isn't considered a problem. Which I agree with, since you can romance only one LI in single playthrough anyway, and while species like dwarves, elves and qunari don't exist, gay men and lesbians do.
I am really sorry if my quotes especially contributed to your subsequent disappointment. Whatever I said was just the way I personally understood the quotes and I try to link to an original source so people can look over it and not take it out of context. I was pretty disappointed about the situation, as well. It's definitely never been my intention to warp anything a dev said or apply it out of context. Again, sorry. 
But, for what it's worth, I sympathize with your situation and I appreciate your posts for the most part. You're clearly very educated on the issue and very passionate about it. I hope we'll both still get equal choices, as that's never been taken off the table yet.

I would agree that Dorian is super gorgeous... and normally I hate mustaches but on him it's grown on me. Really like what I've seen of his personality so far as well. The only thing that's made him not a front runner as a romance for me is that I'd have to play a man to see it. I just don't like playing guys... I will, just for him, eventually (something I never did in DAO or DA2) - but, it won't be for another couple playthroughs since I so love playing female characters when I have the opportunity to do so.
Edit, because I forgot: Just mentioning this in response to the surprise over the results of our absolutely-not-scientific romance poll I imagine I'm not the only woman interested in Dorian's romance arc, it's just him being male-only does nudge him down on my 'dudes I want to romance list.' In regards to Vivienne, I'm not quite so idealistic as to think her race might not be a factor, but I definitely think her personality is off-putting to some. I find her really interesting, but the impression I have of her as self-serving, pro-establishment, and something of a snob makes me want to reserve judgement until I meet her in the game. I may well love her - like I did Miranda and Morrigan - but as with them I'd need to get to know her first.

I've played very recently a male warden and hwake for the first time only because I was thinking about doing it to see Dorian's romance and, well, to see how bad would it feel playing a guy... And it wasn't that bad, not at least playing a gay guy. So I'm definitely doing at least once more in DAI. I don't know though if I'm goin to like much playing a straight male, to see Cassandra's romance too 
Tough choices, right? I plan to eventually make an inquisitor for each companion. I'll admit that I'm going to only run 2, or possibly 3, so I have my priorities, but everyone is going to get a turn.

Exactly this. Though I do like Solas' character design, quite a lot, I wouldn't exactly classify him as 'hot,' and I'd definitely say Cullen and Dorian win out in the looks department. It's his background and personality, as it has been revealed so far, that makes him my first choice as a romance, provided he's available.
Yup-yup! I mean, I was interested in him after his initial reveal, but I didn't become invested until his blurb and interview came out. What can I say? I love me the intellectual nerds.

I really don't see Nicolas Cage in him either but that's better than when people compare him to Nosferatu which is very mean. 
Between him and Blackwall, I wonder who has a higher chance of getting him. I would rather for Blackwall, but I don't mind him being the other option. I was pretty disappointed when Cullen is not romanceable, so I would rather hope whoever the other male LI is, their fans would be happy for the other group that get to romance their choice of LI.
I would be extremely happy if Solas was a bi LI and fairly content with Blackwall as one. I'll be really disappointed if there isn't a balanced gender/sexuality distribution, but if there is I'm not really going to complain, regardless who is in.
I don't think it hurts Solas' feelings.
Oh really did you have a little chat with him? He said it was alright, and his fans are okay with it too? Okay.
EDIT: For the record I don't go around bashing other peoples favorite characters like some do.
