Opinion seems to be split pretty evenly between 'legit' and 'easily faked with what we know'
hmmm... I see, I was hoping for "a probably fake", so that I could take a look without feeling bad

Thanks!

so, I know its OT here, but I don't want to go there
, so, just one question: does it look legit? what seems to be the general opinion?
Ain't clicking on that thread myself, sorz Maria can't risk it. The internet is dark and full of spoilers.
The fact that this "leak" apparently lists one (and only one) multiplayer achievement leads me to believe that it is complete rubbish.
It's not just male players. Most female characters would not feel comfortable shacking up with a guy with an history of being with another guy.
Unfortunately this is true... I've seen this type of biphobia among women I've known (who even claim, and probably even believe themselves to be, open-minded and pro-gay rights/representation etc.) and women in these forums. I would prefer it if Bioware wouldn't cater to that, and, personally, would find a bisexual male LI who prefers men, or is at least equally open about past relationships with both genders, rather refreshing (since I can't recall ever seeing one). Female players who are uncomfortable with it have the option to simply not romance that character.

Are we actually getting MP for this game or is that just a rumour too?

Full on rumor. There was only one MP achievement which makes no sense to me at all.

I'm kind of leaning toward this as well... plus, looking at it, almost all of the so-called 'spoilers' are things I've seen speculated in this very forum. I could be wrong of course, which is why I won't mention anything I read in it (out of respect for people on here who want to avoid spoilers)... but I'm leaning toward the fact it's not legit. Plus, if they were doing an MP, wouldn't they have announced it already? Though I'm not interested, personally, it seems like a good way to hype up the game, since the release really isn't all that far off.

Zevran was openly bisexual. He talks about past relationships with both men and women.

Yeah, but he also says that he prefer women.

He is openly bisexual, but does he talk about any specific men from his past? I only remember the story about the female mage he was supposed to kill, and his past lover Rinna. There's also Isabela... and he tells you "I prefer women, I think" if you're a woman (not sure if that comes up for a male player).
Ah my apologies then.
You realize that, even if you had read it correctly and Full Metal *was* speaking for themselves, your still should have apologized, right?

He talks about having had relationships with men. I remember this distinctly because I was romancing him at the time and I did a double take when he mentioned that part. I romanced him anyway, but I did feel odd doing it.
I guess he did say he preferred the ladies though.
Isn't that Crow you kill for him one of his past lovers?
The one Zevren can betray you with?
Isn't that Crow you kill for him one of his past lovers?
Taliesen? Yeah, I actually forgot about that... I looked it up, and all he says is "he was a good friend, and more." So yeah, they were lovers, but I don't think we get the opportunity to actually talk about it with him beyond that.
Because sexuality is supposed to be less of a deal in Thedas. Even if it doesn't always read like that.
I think it doesn't always read like that because it isn't less of a deal in Thedas. Thedas (well, Ferelden, at least) is more ******/biphobic than contemporary Canada. I'm not sure the devs ever intended otherwise. If they have, they've failed to convey this, and I'll weight what I see in the game more strongly than any statements they've made on the BSN. It wouldn't surprise me if bisexuality is less stigmatized among women than men in Thedas, given how we've seen companions talk about their sexuality (Zevran thinks his may be a problem, Leliana doesn't seem to, Anders is discrete about his relationship with Karl to Lady Hawke, et cetera).
Hot gay sex may not be illegal anywhere in Thedas, but that's kind of a low bar to pass. Brother Genitivi in WoT, page 72 describes homosexuality as "a scandal if done indiscreetly" and says that "sex of any kind is only considered worthy of judgment when taken to awful excess or performed in the public." That language reminds me of a seven-year-old Wikipedia stub on LGBT rights in Oman. I'm sure there are worse places to be gay than in Oman/Ferelden, but I wouldn't say the situation's ideal.
I actually like that Thedosian nations are a little homophobic. As a gay man, I find queer characters having to deal with, or at least acknowledge, homophobia relatable. I didn't really like Zevran much, but I appreciated that aspect of his characterization, compared to Fenris and Anders. I'd imagine this might come up again with Dorian, which I'd be pleased with.
edit: aw, "h o m o" got caught by the filter up there, which I guess is not very surprising. I'll just note that, then, down here.
Isn't that Crow you kill for him one of his past lovers?
Yup I'm 85% sure on this.
Isn't that Crow you kill for him one of his past lovers?
It's entirely possible, but it's never explicitly stated.
Yep Taleisan (spelling is off) and he talks about some Antivan prince he gets the earring from that he gives the PC in a romance.
I guess they'd have to have dialogue along the lines of
"Ah, yes. I loved having Taliesin's veiny shaft in my butt"
and
"Oh Warden, why can't you do that thing Marjolaine did with her tongue when you're going down on me?"
for it to be any clearer.

Different nations in Thedas have different views on it. Ferelden is by far the most uptight about it though (and sex in general). The Orlesians, Tevinter*, and the Antivans are both probably the most tolerant of it. (I don't know if we've ever officially been told about Rivain's views on sexuality.) There is no institutionalized h-phobia anywhere in Thedas, however. They're not persecuted. I've always gotten the sense from both external sources as well as things the Devs have said over the years that things are meant to be less homophobic than our world, and I prefer it that way myself. I don't play games to be reminded that I'm not welcome in a lot of places in society. I always find it a little bit jarring too whenever the PC has the option to say 'eeeew gross' in response to a same-sex advance on them. A simple 'no thanks I'm not interested' is sufficient.
*Though in Tevinter, it seems that generally same-sex relations are most acceptable between master and slave. There are a few different Roman slave 'castes' that detail specific same-sex relations/duties with slightly different social connotations for each. Since Tevinter is largely Roman/Byzantine empire inspired, it's likely that's where the inspiration came from.

Hrm, I don't recall that dialogue. Been a while since I did a Zevran romance playthrough.

Hey, I'm not saying they weren't lovers, I just didn't recall whether or not that was ever stated. My memory's usually good about such things, though I'm probably mistaken, given what Ryzaki has to say on the matter.

Yeah it's this. Romance mind.
