Eh the romances wouldn't be half as fun if we weren't able to go dragonslaying with them :P

nothing against Cullen and Scribbles don't shoot me

Perhaps that's one of the potential minigames?

Well, technically Cullen and Leliana were shown with us outside Skyhold, and Laidlaw mentioned a multi-region arc for Cullen. It's possible that advisors will be with us outside more then we think.

If this forum represented the entire fan base the a dating sim would probably outsell anything else Bioware could make lol.

I'd honestly be more interested in a RTS DA game .

I have a clarification question, since I've avoided e3 like the plague to not encounter story spoilers. Have race specific romances been confirmed for DA:I?

I'd go with a Suikoden 2 style DA game myself.

normal DAI gameplay and large turn based army battles (with an aged map overworld style instead of a grid, imagine the inquisition war room map as the overworld for those battles) with fire emblem/suikoden/Super robot taisen/advance wars type animations/flare to the battles.

I'd go for that ^_^

Glaider said yes here on the forums, but not to what extent.

I used "tame" in quotes because that what it looked like.  She only experiences personal growth and closure if she has a romantic sexual experience with Shepard, and then she's nicer and more relaxed.  Compare how she is with him to a female Shepard at the end of the game, and yeah, it looks like the game has written her as "tamed" by her new boyfriend.  And my point was that a romance with a man "cures" or "tames" her, so no, the fact that she's bitter and closed off with an unromanced male Shepard, or one who only has sex without romance, doesn't take away from anything I'm saying.

It does happen in real life that some people only are able to feel close and open up with people they are romantically involved with...but if those same people are deeply troubled in the first place, pinning their emotional health on a new romance is a HORRIBLE idea.  It's why people in recovery from addiction are told explicitly not to get involved in a new relationship for a while when they want to make a major change.  It seems great at first, but after the first blush of new love fades, or the relationship ends, they are the same person as before, and the bottom falls out.  Using a romance as a crutch as opposed to growing emotionally with or without Shepard isn't something to celebrate.

We're definitely not going to agree about this, which is why I generally don't talk about Jack with ME fans.  I don't like how she's written, and I thought the message conveyed by her romance with Shepard versus how she ends her time getting to know an unromanced Shepard is pretty awful.  That's all I have to say about that.

While there are lots of problems as you point out with male Shepard, it wouldn't be any better with female Shepard. The problem is this idea that a sexual relationship will "fix" her, regardless of gender. Which, I think, is your point in your second last paragraph.

For some strange reason, I couldn't avoid a romance with Jack even if I was actively trying to do so.

You know, there's something I'm somewhat interested in that no one ever talks about, and that's polyamory.

I grant that it's extremely hard to have work properly and may well be more trouble than it's worth to implement in any believable manner; I won't be upset with anyone at Bioware for not including it as an option. But I will say that, if there are two companions with the proper dynamics for it and it can be implemented without any major blunders... it would be interesting.

Er, no; I assure you that it's not a "u mad" situation. I'm not offended, I just don't think it made sense.

What do you mean by major blunders? Poly relationships have a lot of added challenges, and aren't necessarily triads. In. Y experience, it's very rare to get the right personalities lined up to make one (or more) work.

I had a thought what do you think will be done about the multiple Romance Situation "World State/Keep Wise" I am currently playing through the games again my Male Elf Mage Playthrough and he is currently romancing Morrigan but I am thinking of Romancing Leliana as well and I just wondered if The Keep will allow a Accurate WS with both Romanced in Inquistion.

Any ideas?

.@user I don't believe we are announcing romance specifics, with a very few exceptions like Sera on HoC. Sorry, wait and see.  :)

Oh, yeah, I agree, my issue was mainly with the stark difference between the "friendship" path (which doesn't really end with a friendship) and the romance, not that it being a heterosexual romance had anything to do with the way it was written.

I mean, maaaaaybe, if Jack had been available as a bisexual love interest, the romance might have been written differently, but nobody can say for sure.

...Anyone ever wonder how much money they'd make off an actual Dragon Age dating sim?  Like, as a phone app or something?

There's a fan made one on deviantart of DA2 but that's as close as anyone who wants one is going to get I think. (its actually pretty funny and really short)

It has been strongly implied, but nothing is 'confirmed' yet.

I don't think it would have been written differently. There's (unfortunately) as much heal from your trauma by sleeping with a woman tripe out there as there is healing penis tripe.

I don't really understand the reasoning behind keeping the orientations secret.

The only thing I can think of is that keeping things under wraps if they are not set in stone. But with only a few months away and some of romance stuff are revealed, how much still hasn't been decided?

@WhoKnows: Could be because Bioware wants to drag out the speculation for awhile. It could also be that they're planning on revealing the Chart at one of the other conventions they'll be visiting prior to launch.
