Yes, yes they did. There was a few threads, I think by the same poster, which had morbid things like "Can we rape?", "Can we torture?", etc.
There were similar threads on the Bethesda forums before Skyrim was released. It was pathetic.

Well technically they got that...just in mods =/
I.... wow.
I'm glad i missed these threads though. I feel sorry for the people who didn't miss them, including you. *hugs*
Well you missed em dem eyes don't burn, bet that scale itch does tho. (Okay I'll stop but I got more, will use em another time.) ![]()
And I didn't see those threads either so I can't comment on them, the internet is dark and full of terrors.

I see the point that you're making, but the difference between modding one's game to accommodate such taste (or lack thereof, depending on your stance) and publicly arguing for its inclusion as part of the game itself is an important one, I think.

I still think Jack is the source of the Scale Itch.
so...no news today? ![]()

The panel isn't for a few hours. There might be, but it's not certain at all.

True.
While I don't have an issue with the torture requests (though really even if the PC was to use torture. He/she would be the one commanding the torturer rather than doing it him/her self.) the other ones are just...really? Just go play a h game if that's what you're after. >_>

oh okay. it's already late in my time zone that's why I asked.

They're doing the panel later in the day than we usually get news from them. It starts in about three and a half hours. Hopefully we'll hear something, but it's hard to say if they'll touch on romances this time. We can hope.

Do I want to know what an "H" game is, seeing as the context is torture and rape? Is this something I should have in my Google history?
Hentai games; porn dating sims. Several of the darker ones involve full on rape scenarios.
Yeah, I think San Diego is GMT -8 with daylight savings so it's currently 1345 there. I'm going to go away and do one of the 27 things I'm putting off and come back in a couple hours.
I'm not sure what you mean by this. Do you mean that, because more people do the s/s romances than the projected number of gay players, the content is for straight people also?
Yep. They might not design it with that in mind though, but it is content and straight people aren't shunning it.
Anyway, in regards to the infidelity storyline I suggested, I don't condone cheating at all. Like I said, I've been cheated on, I know how much it sucks. I've also been the guy the girl cheated on her boyfriend with a few times when I was younger and less mature, though it's something I decided not to again after I did some growing up.
But I think it has the potential for some interesting story telling, for some relateable human drama. It's a story they haven't told yet, and I like it when they do new things. And I like every opportunity they give us to play a truly flawed character.

It's content that straight people are welcome to enjoy, as well as LGB people, and that's something I'm not just comfortable with, but very happy for. It makes me really happy to know straight people also like having the same sex content in game. My only objection is to the idea that the content exists to make straight people uncomfortable. I don't believe Bioware has any intent of such and not offering a toggle to take the content out, I believe, is simply a reaction of indifference to those that aren't comfortable with it. The difference between the examples I quoted is that the "coercion" plot would only exist to make people uncomfortable. Anyone that actually enjoyed the implications that they were taking advantage of someone's fear, even unknowingly, would be a bit disturbing. LGB content is there for people to enjoy with indifference towards people who are uncomfortable with it. The coercion plot would be the opposite of that.
I realize that's not the point you were originally addressing, but since it came from my post originally, I thought I'd clarify. I didn't go back to it before because the conversation seemed dead when I got back.

We don't have 1345 in America unless you're on a military base.
My clock says 2:09 pm.
Time snob!

You're not disturbed by the fact that many straight people will go after the LGB content because they like the idea of two people of the same sex (usually opposite to theirs) getting it on? I've heard that many people consider it to be rather offensive.

I don't accept cheating either but I also think that there should be romances which don't have a happy ending or don't end up being to usual story where girl/guy meets a girl/boy and then they'll live happilly ever after. Although I like those kind of stories the most and my tolerance towards unhappy romances are not good but if every romance would be a happy romance then I would feel that something is missing because the LI would always fell in love with my PC and I don't want that cheating etc stories are not told because the character is LI.

I can't speak for all the "straight-ys", but I enjoy experiencing different perspectives. The same game is effectively a new story based on who my PC romances, or a lack of romance on a playthrough.

It's not any more disturbing than people using the straight content because they like to see people of opposite genders getting it on. Sexualization of characters is what it is. I imagine a lot of people do just do the romances, generally, because they want the story content, though. It's not exactly a satisfying pornographic experience.

I've always wondered whether gay people view straight romances in the manner certain homophobes do.
*Gay person sees a man and a woman kissing*
*begins vomiting profusely*
To be a bit more on topic though, I am deeply saddened there are no elf romances for us straighties. Ah well.

*sigh I know. Guess I'll just have to play the game again! Sera sass demands multiple playthroughs. ![]()
