Oh dear.  See, I read that as it's fine to love someone, as long as you don't have sex with them. Having sex was the big no-no, because that could result in a pregnancy that wasn't scheduled or approved by the Tamassrans. [TAPS CHIN] Maybe we can ask the Iron Bull!  :D

Well, they specifically say that Qunari don't have "romantic" partners, so I assume an asexual, romantic relationship is still off the table. Platonic love seems like their only approved option. I'm still a bit grey on where their opinion is on sex, in general.

I find the whole "assigned a job/identity" thing far more terrifying than the frowning on emotional bonds. That freaks me out.

Having both though probably makes it scarier than the Chantry (as far as we know, they've engaged in wiping out people's identities. But not their love lives).

I would find it easier having an assigned job that having my interpersonal bonds restricted, but I'm certainly against both things. I think the Qun is easily worse than the Chantry, but I'm not a huge Chantry supporter, either.

The above post reminds me of a Dragon Age Confession I saw earlier today.

I'd take the Chantry over the Qun anyday.

Even as a mage. One is a prison the other is hell.

Though I do find the Qunari one of the most interesting groups in Thedas :P

Exactly.

The Chantry has its dogma, but it doesn't send you away for "re-education".

Hmm, that's quite possible. The main part that has me wondering is their ability to "form emotional bonds with one another", and the only part that seems to bring down punishment is if they choose to express those feeling sexually.

Man, I just want to be able to sit the Iron Bull down and just talk with him about the Qun. I want to know everything about it. (And we're totally going to hear about the Qun's views on sex and love, because it seems to be such a large part of his Iron Bull persona.) The Qun as a whole fascinates me. Without the abysmal mage treatment, brainwashing, forced conversion, and farm-esque breeding system, I'd find the Qun to be a very tempting thing in real life.

XD true. Least they get food to eat and are mostly free of disease and the like. Thedas pretty much sucks if you're not rich or powerful.

It's not just a job per se. Like visiting the vocational counselor :D I think it's a bit like Sten was so attached to his sword (in the warrior role). The job is the soul. It is YOU. And your only duty/worth/and meaning of existence in the world. And if you don't like it, "We'll drug you up and you can work the mines."

It's funny how that works.  I find the Qun to be horrifying, but it's such an interesting culture.  I would love to know more about them and even would love to find a hardcore Qun following Qunari (like Sten, only more open on the info) even though I disagree with all of their philosophy.

Meh, I'm a fan of the Qun, except for that terrible mage policy. That tripe has got to go.

I agree, everyone gets a better deal with the Chantry. Though, personally, I don't support religious rule, generally.

I do think the Qun is more fascinating than the Chantry. The Chantry is more a standard fantasy "every religion" without much new or shocking behind it.  :P

This is why the Dalish are my favorite faction. Yes, they're jerks..  but their motto is "Never again shall we submit." They revolve their identities around simply not taking any **** from anyone. Leave them alone and it's all good.

Well, they evaluate what you're actually good at and try to place you in something relevant. I think I could basically fake enjoying my job, maybe I'd even luck out and get something I did really enjoy. But there's no possibility that I could be happy with their complete ban on romantic partners.

Regardless, I'm not in the mood to deal with any Dalish. I wonder if Solas has any connection to them though.

That's my theory on why Iron Bull is the one struggling with his sexuality. He's not fully tal-vashoth yet, so he's having doubts abput going native.

Yeah I wouldn't want to live anywhere near them but observing them is fascinating. And yeah I hope Iron Bull can give us further incites into Qunari culture.

True but I figure in Thedas it's pretty much one of the better outcomes. You got One of us Qunari on one hand and drain the slaves of their blood Tevinter on the other the Chantry ends up not looking that bad by comparison.

Yeah Chantry is pretty vanilla. XD

The Chantry and the Qun are both terrible and I hope I get to undermine them as Inquisitor.

Fortunately both Cassandra and Iron Bull are said not to be unshakeable in their beliefs...there will be problems otherwise.

I'm actually happy about the that!  I hope that they use him in the upcoming game since we've already seen 2/4 of them.  It would be a wasted opportunity if they didn't!
