I'm actually happy about the that!  I hope that they use him in the upcoming game since we've already seen 2/4 of them.  It would be a wasted opportunity if they didn't!

Oh no. I am quite to excited to see him in Inquisition. It's just the stupidity that summoned him that pissed me off quite a bit.

And the thing with the Dalish trying to sack the Capitol and something Tevinter did

Tevinter would end up summoning the Reapers to Thedas. :P

The Chantry and the Qun are both terrible and I hope I get to undermine them as Inquisitor.

Fortunately both Cassandra and Iron Bull are said not to be unshakeable in their beliefs...there will be problems otherwise.

Im not a huge fan of either.

I, personally, dont take issue with religion though. Just those institutions trying to control everyone lives.

Personally I like to think of my Mages as worshiping the Old Gods

TME spoilers

Spoiler

Regardless, I'm not in the mood to deal with any Dalish. I wonder if Solas has any connection to them though.

Exactly, summoning one of the "Big Daddies" moves you up the list of terrible groups in Thedas

Fine, but if that Starbrat shows up, then I'm taking the refusal ending and let the demons have Thedas.

I was a little more upset with Michel than the Dalish.  I saw him smashing the stone and setting him free from a mile away.  Made me wish I could reach my hands through the book and shake a fictional character!

Same. I also hope we get the option to elevate them.

I actually hope they stick to their organizations being number one to them. To me at least it gives your Inquisitor a dilemma. Do you recruit them despite their conflicting loyalties? Or refuse their help losing their aid but having your organization be a unified front without said divided concerns?

And then hopefully recruiting them would come with advantages and disadvantages as would skipping them.

I consider all of my characters to be basically agnostic. I doubt any of the religions really get it right and those with deities may not have rightly understood the thing they were throwing their support behind.

Speaking of religion, I wonder which companions/LIs (trying to get this back on topic) have any major religious beliefs? Cass for sure, but I wonder if Dorian is an adherent to the tenets of the Imperial Chantry?

I don't really agree with the idea that elves are bad because one tribe summoned a demon, though. That's not comparable with the entire belief set of the Qun. The Qun is inherently terrible. A specific group of elves did something foolish. There's a big difference there. Summoning demons isn't some part of their cultural beliefs. Many humans have summoned demons and done questionable things. We don't blame all the humans for Meredith introducing red lyrium to the world. I rarely even see people blaming the Chantry or the templars as a whole. Individuals or small groups shouldn't reflect on the entire populous.

Now I'm picturing a Darkspawn Reaper.

In the first ME game, the character Ashley refers to believing in God, and it leaves the character open to agree, disagree or be fairly neutral about it (the option I picked.) I'd really like in DA that they gave us those chances with our LIs.  Not to fight or debate about them, but to at least ask questions.

For example, I'd love to pick Iron Bull's brain more about the Qun as a whole from someone born and raised as a part of its culture.  As a player, I've seen Sten (who is of the Qun but not in a typical element for him during the Fifth Blight,) the Arishok (that was under a great deal of stress) and Tallis (that wasn't born into the Qun.)  Or say if Solas has the Dalish beliefs of the Creators, I'd like to ask him more about it.  Things like that I think add a lot to a character.

...how did this go from romance to theology of Thedas?

Talking about Iron Bull being a part of the Qun, then it grew from there.

Dorian's beliefs will be interesting to see. The Imperial Chantry has some very nasty beliefs and it'll be interesting to see where Dorian falls. They've said that he's quite different than what we expect from a magister, but it'll be interesting to see if he still maintains some questionable beliefs we see from those in Tevinter. I wonder how he'll feel about slaves, blood magic, and spirits/demons.

Old God Reaper...

A big mechanical tainted dragon, with a giant F'off laser from Hell.   I can't tell if I'm pleased or terrified at the thought.

I might have to swing by the ME suggestion thread later tonight. Not for any kind of crossover, but now I'm tickled at the idea of seeing an Old God Reaper...that isn't of the Lovecraftian "Old Gods."

I could see him perhaps being similar into Maevaris about the slaves, though I think he might disavow himself from blood magic. I wonder how he'd react to a mage Inquisitor, particularly when romanced, using blood magic.

Right, I don't have a problem with the Dalish creators religion because they aren't spreading their beliefs into different cultures with the edge of a sword like the Chantry and Qunari are. I am skeptical to begin with of any religion that has converting others as one of it's core virtues.

Don't get me wrong, because I love the elves of Thedas, but most of the Dalish just seem horrible.  I get that they've been treated horribly, but it's like in the game and the books, there are no decent Dalish elves.  It seems there are a few in game that aren't complete asses, like Lenaya, Merethari, and Merrill, but overall, they're distrustful of everyone and they don't even care about their own kind.  That was my main problem with the Dalish in TME.  It didn't actually bother me that they summoned the demon.  If the humans hand't come across their camp, he probably would have remained right there bound in the circle.  To me, the worst thing was that they didn't care about the plight of their own people.  They would just write them off because they were "flat ears" or not true elves...it was bad to me because the city elves were born in the city and stayed there because they knew no better.  If they had cared-if a little bit- for the city counterparts, I would feel more sympathy for them.  But...yeah, my sympathy for the Dalish went downhill after that book.

Honestly though yeah I would love to discuss companions religious beliefs and have my PC have a varied amount of reactions to that. I especially cracked up at rene Shep's "So he's a zombie then?" to Ashley. Trololol.

I'm giving thought to romancing him to my saarabas. Tevinter doesn't get along with the qunari, so it'll be Romeo and Juliet.

I do wonder where he would feel about necromancy.  I think Cassandra might have a few words to say about that, considering where she's from.  They mummify their dead in Nevarra, which does leave the bodies particularly vulnerable to possession and necromancy.

Watch, the VA for Iron Bull is the Harbinger.

"Assuming direct control," indeed.

Okay okay I'll stop.  For now.
