Okay, I've spent the past week trying to find an answer to this question!

My import list has become so cluttered with my completed saves that I feel I need too clear it all out. I then found out that this would be more difficult then I thought... as deleting mass effect from my console did nothing to my imports!

I took to the internet to try and find a solution and finally found one! 
I found a forum post on 'Giant Bomb' with fans raving about how they had found a solution, The person who had found it posted  this link:

Below it were people thanking him. (So waste my time saying that there isn't a way)
But when I clicked the link apparently bioware had redone the forum and I had no way of finding the post I was looking for.

Could someone please link me to that forum post?
Or even better give me the solution to my problem?

Trust me, if I didn't have all the DLC I would gladly Trade in all my games and rebuy them on PC. 
(thanks to steam I could probably get a good deal for it too hahaha)

I give up and I'm not deleting my account just for Mass Effect (as special as it is).
I may Just pick my favourite Shepard and level her up from now on. She is pretty awesome, plus I might get the Lvl60 achievement. 
Thanks anyway. This may just be one of life's little first world problems.

The only way I know that is guaranteed to work is to format your Xbox 360 hard drive. However, this will completely delete everything on your hard drive, including the ME1 imports.

Riven, the solution linked to above works every time too. I've got a couple of USB sticks full of importable Shepards.
