I STILL remember that line (well to some degree, not word-for-word accuracy) from Shepard in ME3 to this day (even though I only completed ME3 one time, pre-Extended Cut, like three weeks or so after the game was released). It happens just after the fight between Kai Leng and Thane. It's shortly after Thena gets IMPALED by Kai Leng, and as Thane crumbles against a wall you get that oh-so-obvious Shepard showing up next to him (in a hurry, now that the scene is over, of course) and actually asking Thane if he's alright. I mean ... !!!!!!!!!!

It goes something like: "[insert just a bit of distress in the voice] Thane! [remove all emotions in the voice] Are you ok?". Not to mention that the actual voice tone is completely off, very monotone and without emotion. It's like Mark or Jennifer were just told to come up with a line without telling them the context.

I mean really, Shepard, REALLY? Errrrrrr... ok what about not standing there in the first place during the fight and hel- ... never mind, scripted scene. Well let me answer that one in Thane's name, Shepard. What about a big NO? He just got impaled, he was already a dying man to start with, and you're now asking him how's it going? I'm preeeeeeeeetty sure that getting impaled doesn't exactly mean that you're "ok" nor that you'd be ready to run a marathon because it'd obviously just be a flesh wound.

Shepard asks "How bad is it?".

If I was Thane I would shoot Shepard in the gut since I don't have a sword in my hand and say "You tell me dumba**".

Yeah, the setting and tone would have felt better if it were at least 100 years after FCW, with an ambitious humanity agitating for a council seat, not the new loudmouth kid on the block demanding a full seat the week after contact when some races didn't even have mere embassies.

Bit different than what you remember. "How bad is it?"

That monotone out-of-place "Are you okay?" line is from Priority: Earth, when Cortez gets shot down.

If I had to guess, the lines about humanity being genetically diverse probably are a way to explain why most aliens fit a specific stereotype. Turians are all militaristic, Krogans are all blood thirsty thugs, Asari are all wise and strong biotics, Salarians are all smart and sneaky, Volus are all fat bankers, etc., but humans can be any and all of these. This really is just speculation, and it's a paper thin defense either way, and I can't think of a reason genetic diversity would do this, though.

Really it's just the bad writing that a lot of scifi has where entire races of aliens embody a specific sect of humans.

One possible explanation is that the other races went through genocidal wars in their unification period and that left a particular breed representative of the entire species. Kinda if Nazi Germany had won the war, then proceeded to kill everyone who didn't fit their definition of 'Aryan'. Fast forward a millenia or two when the history books have been expunged of all the nasty details about the unification wars and you have something like the Turian Empire.

Miranda's loyalty mission in ME2. There is some fantastic timing on this. Just at the moment Miranda finishes explaining her situation and immediately before Shepard answers her "I'll help you," there is that lingering ass shot. Subliminal message: You'll help me because of this, right?

And of course von uber posted pictures of Liara and Garrus standing around while Thane was fighting Kai Lame. Liara was checking out an ad for some makeup, and Garrus was checking out an ad for a new Phaeston model, and Shepard was standing around doing nothing.

Ah, yes, I love how that comes from choosing: "You're free."

Glad that wad of horse manure didn't encroach on her becoming the Wolverine of Grissom Academy.

Yeah... the first time I saw that ME2 outcome was the last time she walked away from that base in ME1.

One of Renshep's most absurd lines, I go for the blue outcome now even when playing a renegade if I can.

No matter how mean my Shepard is, the Paragon option outcome for Jack's loyalty mission is a must for me.

That's two of my Shepards.

MelisandreShep, on the other hand, believes strongly in the catharsis of finality.  She'd like to express that much better than the "bullet" comment.

At least she can default to the neutral "let's blow this popsicle stand" path and explore Jack a bit better after the mission.

"So the illusive man was right after all".

He was right. I have a theory going that sans the Reaper indoctrination (and possibly even that), everything he did was a gambit to get the Crucible built and used for the purpose of Control. Everything that happens in ME3 up to the very end was part of his plan, including Cerberus physical destruction. The only thing he took for granted was his ability to control the Reapers without succumbing to their influence.

It just doesn't seem very fitting for the leader of a crime syndicate to just suddenly abandon a life she enjoyed to become a social worker, especially since the only reason she agrees to disband is because Shepard threatens her. Once Blake believes he/she is dead, the only incentive to not start the organization up again is pretty much gone.

Eh, maybe she found more fulfillment from doing social work. Maybe she's lying, or telling the truth from a certain point of view; 'social work' might mean selling pot on the street corner or trying to legalize a drug for medicinal purposes. Or it might mean contracting for assassinations.

Probably that the only convincing you actually do is getting her to disband the gang and walk away in exchange for no jail time. If anything it might be reason enough for her to start a new gang with slightly more moral standards or possibly a legit buisness, the whole 180 on the life of crime and working for the benefit of the disenfranchises is a bit of a leap.

Perhaps, and that would be interesting, but without anything in the game to really suggest that Blake is doing anything other than what she says, I kinda have to take the character's word for it.

She struck me as sincere as well, it's just fairly flimsy character development.
